eFootball (All Platforms)

Read few posts on responsiveness and saw someone say football games MUST BE responsive. By gameplay design choice and as a video game, the point stands correct, but as a simulation, how would you balance it ? I mean, what should a footy game ultimately be ? Simulation or arcade ? or both?

Just like in real life, you lunge/compensate if you find yourself away from the ball, you are trying to respond by making a quick decision. In videogame, they can have something similar, but compensate the accuracy of the outcome (if its a finished game) or just skip animation which is the lazy way out for devs. It ultimately depends on the vision and efficiency of the game designer. With what older pes had at their disposable, they were master of this juggling act which newer PES seems to severely missing.
Yeah, if I had to pick one or the other, it'd be arcade just for the responsiveness.

But, it looks like I want completely arcadish responsiveness, but I don't want arcade style mindless AI and bad ball physics. So for me, I prefer a mix of both arcade and simulation.

Now the real problem is, they can't please everyone since people have different preferences. So we got games like fifa 14, pes 18-21 on one hand, and fifa 15,18, pes 06, 08, 13 on the other hand. Unless they give option in game to turn on/ off responsive locomotion.

One on one. So we´ll get hardcore right stick dribble moves like in the other game to flood youtube with underwhelming dribble moves??
This is truly one of my main concerns.
Why change what´s working well? As some of you said, maybe to adjust it for mobile gamers.

KONAMI, I tell you what...with the present controls I can play "one on one" too for example, slowly approaching towards the defender using R1 tap or double R1 tap in the right moment, when changing direction.
I think, It will be more or less the same.. it is just as if they are making this new feature.

I hope they are improving defensive control mechanic and related animation of during one on one like jockeying with left stick situationally.. please don't add jockey button

Tbh the game has been called Soccer from Konami since inception of the series basically
And now when they are scanning Major League Soccer ambassadors, the game will be called Football. That makes sense...

In the end Free to Play will be just that "demo" package with those 9 teams to bait players in, then in top of that if somebody wants to play in a specific lobby or in myClub will be 10€ - 25€ as an entrance fee like you are going to a casino. Not to mention that this game will be a cesspool of microtransactions. Offline modes? Next year during spring time (eventually), when every game prepares for its 2023 season...

yeah probably. they look into this like a process with continous updates, but guess what, no body will try offline modes when spring comes and season is almost finished, not to mention next gen stuff which also is not present during the launch. they completly lost their minds that's all I can say. succeed to kill cult franchise for money...

This "live service f2p" in the end it's a predatory practice implemented in the same way like are doing other publishers just to make users grind or purchase virtual currency, but now on a new level including entrance passes and involving phones or other gibberish that nobody cared. This is how low they are going, and it disappoints me deeply, because all I was waiting during this year it's PES 2022. Still can't believe it how they choose to go so straight into this direction without taking in count at least the PES heritage that made it famous. It's like they're digging their own grave...

If only we all had of asked for this kind of game in every Pes questionnaire over the last decade...

... with Konami's logic & fifa lite mantra of 'if it ain't broke, change it', 'if it is broke, keep it', 'spend less, make more', and most importantly 'what do the real fans want, do the opposite',

we could have had a half decent football game by now.

The pitch is ours, but everything on it and off it is utter, utter shite.
Trust me, I know what I'm talking about, I'm an Arsenal fan :COAT:

Man U. plays similarly bad nowadays on the pitch. We are deeply missing that talent and fierce rivalry between them (98 - 2007).
Mate, at least off the pitch we can still have and enjoy Football Manager.

A bit off topic, but I just realized the Everton De Viña Del Mar club crest reminded me of something...
