eFootball (All Platforms)

For that reason they showed just "ambassadors" or whatever they're called in that excuse of a "trailer". It's clear that the only direction they have now is focused just on cards and how those can be implemented to milk money with them. The only part that was football related in that montage (I can't call it trailer) was Iniesta talking because he was already in Japan and they gave him some money to talk some boring generics, and Pique showing on his webcam after a good nap...

This is how a 6 minutes football game trailer should be:

Graphically looks like eFootball tbh.

If you'll upgrade PES 2011 with some patches could look even better than €Football... but my point was that comparing PES 2011 with €Football's trailer, PES 2011 tastes like caviar...

"A: To sum it up, it will change. The theme of the gameplay this time is "one x one". Of course, soccer is a team sport, but the fun of a soccer game lies in the "one-on-one" aspect, in the anticipation between the attacker and the defender, so that's what we're trying to promote. If we did that, we would have to make various changes to the game, such as how the controls should be adjusted, or how this would be more natural. We decided that it would be better to leave the existing ones behind and create everything from scratch. For those who are used to the existing controls and have been playing the game for a long time, they may feel that the controls are different at first. We received such comments during the test play the other day, but this change was made to express the fun of "one-on-one". So I believe that you will soon get used to the new controls and will be able to play the game without feeling uncomfortable. Also, not all controls will be changed, such as the move with the left stick, the shoot button, and the through pass button will remain the same."

This is truly the end.

In other words we had to simplify the games controls because it is primarily a mobile game :BYE:

Until now the only thing I saw are just lots of "ambassadors" and those fake happy faces... where the hell is that bloody "next gen" gameplay??? The ambassadors should stay on an embassy not in a football game...

Ohhh, I get it !!! They don't want to show us gameplay to make us surprised... Like was the case last year when they showed "PES 2022 NEXT GEN TEASER". I'm still waiting for that game to be released...
We will be getting gameplay in a couple of days.

New Interview

Q:The name change from "Winning Eleven" to "eFootball" had a great impact. It must have been quite an adventure, but could you tell us how you came to change the title?

Q: What was the reaction from users after the announcement?

Q: The fact that the game is "free to play" on all devices also seems like a drastic change. Could you tell us how this came about?

Q: You mentioned that some contents and modes will be subject to charges.

Q: When I purchase "Master League", will I be able to play this mode in its entirety? Or will there be the basic part first, and then new elements will be added as needed?

Q: Will the operation change as well?

Q: You mentioned that you emphasize "onex one," but is this also reflected in your defensive maneuvers?

Fairly good news as Unreal 4 wasnt a great engine and means the very good base of 2021 is in tact.

Unreal 5 in a couple of years could of been epic but the Fox engine could be fully modified and scalable for PS5 and X.

Lets hope PS4, One and Mobile dont hold it back to much and what we see in the next couple of days surprises us all.

I agree that PES2021 is a good base, I've got the Lite version installed on my PS4 and play it from time to time, mostly because I find the concept of myClub fun, even if the offline content is lacking. It feels good when you have the ball, FUMA is stellar, the speed is realistic and I like the CPU AI for the most part, however it still has a lot of flaws, CPU AI feels more limited than older titles, fouls are still lacking, while things like lighting and turfs are worse than it's recent predecessors for some reason and they look very poor most of the time. What I'm trying to say is that the good aspects of PES2021 are the good aspects of FOX PES in general, which have been solid since PES2015, while it's flaws have also been mostly the same since PES2015 too, so while every FOX PES is different, the improvements we've had in 7 years have felt lacking for the most part, and for a lot of us a brand new engine felt like a chance for further leaps than we've had recently, so knowing that it's still FOX deep down is somewhat dissapointing.

Now, regarding Unreal 4, I have to disagree with your point about it not being a great engine. When AAA studios aren't using an in-house engine, they're most likely using Unreal 4, it's one of the most versatile and advanced engines in the industry, just looking at a list of games that use it, there aren't many engines I can think of with such an impressive track record. I have no doubt that FOX can be modified and scaled, but the same goes for Unreal 4, which was made with versatility in mind, while Konami made their engine specifically for PS4/XBO Metal Gear, it suffers the same issue as Frostbite, an engine made with Battlefield in mind being used in all EA sports titles. Also, Unreal 4 is an engine that developers in the industry are much more familiar with, while only people who have been with Konami for some time know how to use FOX, it'd be easier to have new people coming in to work on PES in the future by making that switch now.

I wish I could say "I Will Skip this year once again" but I'm not sure If that makes much sense for a "free" game.

Jesus Christ... Imagine that!. They wont be releasing any game this year but a Very limitde demo wich might only have the offline paid mode months after it, so imagine How much time it Will take for them to make Full UE5 conversion, If they ever Will.

My god! I dont want to hear about efootball shit anymore!

Its like I know nothing about it and I already dont want to know nothing about It, because the more You know about It, the worse It gets. This "game" is so depressing yet we have seen almost nothing about It.

I appreciate who's able to keep his optimism after this new interview. Not that it was needed, but that's truly the final nail on the coffin.

Still, it feel so sad man. Was looking at some of the transfers of this year, and I had a flashback about how much I loved, in the past, to daydream how they would have looked in game, with their new teams and stuff. All gone now.
(sorry- pretty sure I still had to do a proper nostalgic post :()

Wow lad, that's f***ing insane, what a pleasant surprise... Thank you, now I have some motive to get drunk with my cool neighbors and sleep well tonight. In the end was my fault, I didn't dived so deep into the 8K screen to look at that easter egg showing the dynamic in depth gameplay. Could be that I've missed it because was too photorealistic? In the end that's the only part of gameplay that will get until release?

Can't wait for @The_Knight , to do a realism review on that.

But waiiit !!! That's fake... It's not €Football... because he wasn't playing it on mobile, he was doing it on TV !!! Naughty, naughty...

PS4 and Mobile should not be said in the same sentence considering the difference in their capabilities…

This is a mobile first game, how can we expect anything ‘next gen’ relating to gameplay and AI mechanics when under the hood it’s a mobile game. As it is cross platform with a mobile device the controls, gameplay mechanics etc have to be the same surely?

Interesting video's. I watched it all, but i was hoping to see the solution for fluidity vs responsiveness.
In the first video (@3:40m) where he commented on the batman/spiderman free flow combat system. He says the animation are realistic and fluid, but to compensate for the responsiveness there is some sliding.
This actually confirms my point, there needs to be some compensation albeit it with sliding or something else. Also in the pes series on the ps2 you could also see some sliding going on, especially in the replays. And those games were much more responsive. But now konami seems to iron out all the sliding to make the game look more realistic animation wise.

When an what time will Konami release the final information on efootball this week at gamescom.
Final information ? I'll not bet on that, tho you have the MLS ambassadors trailer. But be aware that they are not playing football, they are playing soccer...

What about gamescom 2021 plans from other publishers?

For a fourth year running, don't expect a dedicated showcase from PlayStation, a publisher once a big proponent of gamescom in previous console generations. As with last year, it's possible it will instead be involved in the opening night keynote instead - but don't hold your breath.

As for Nintendo, while it has started to do more around gamescom in the years leading up to the pandemic, it appears to be doing its own programming this time of year instead - with both 2020 and 2021 hosting Indie World streams in the fortnight up to gamescom.

As for third parties, Konami has said it will be prepping announcements for eFootball - the new free-to-play version of PES - as well as Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel.

Finally, Dying Light 2 Stay Human's ongoing web series will be featured in gamescom's programming on Thursday, August 26th at 7pm BST, 8pm CEST, 2pm EDT or 11am PDT - delving specifically into parkour and combat.

One on one. So we´ll get hardcore right stick dribble moves like in the other game to flood youtube with underwhelming dribble moves??
This is truly one of my main concerns.
Why change what´s working well? As some of you said, maybe to adjust it for mobile gamers.

KONAMI, I tell you what...with the present controls I can play "one on one" too for example, slowly approaching towards the defender using R1 tap or double R1 tap in the right moment, when changing direction.
