Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

I went on line after some time and it was the usual crap. Lag all the time, cheaters, 99% of people runnning down the wing and scoring curback goals. With all the good games why do I have to play this shit over and over???

No matter how the animations are well done the game gets worse over the years. Master league the same, on line is gonna be the same laggy farse. I am done with konami. Have fun take care.

See you :)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

All I keep hearing from my contact is that you won't believe how great the game flows, apparently it's incredible. It doesn't just look great but it feels like a massive improvement, handling-wise (haha, I know that's a car-game term, but you know what I mean). I keep saying that you'll get bored of that once you win everything and you're playing online though, and he just said "well obviously I've only had a few days with it, but I'm not bored of it yet". He couldn't stand the last two or three PES games, so it must be good.

He said there was a lot more "content" as well, but said he couldn't go into any more detail. What that means I have no idea - if he meant more teams, he would have mentioned lower-league teams because he knows I've been waiting for that for years, so I doubt it's that. Possibly more competitions (how would that work with the same amount of teams though?), more stadia (which would appear to be the case looking at J-League Winning Eleven 2007), etc...

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

He did mention there is a "surprise" in the game, but wouldn't sy what....i'll pressure him 2morrow :d :d

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

It looks more flashier, but cups games the same. Hmmm... There has to be more to it then. I'm pretty sure they added other things to it which he wouldn't notice til later on in the league. I'll keep my hopes up then

Bordering on delusion. What evidence is there to suggest there will be some big announcement about ML in Germany? Absolutely none. All the evidence points to a few cosmetic changes but nothing else and you have to consider the fact that if they are pissing about with things like Mission Modes it's because they don't see the ML as needing improvement.

I agree with you. Think people are clinging on to false hope you know.

I truly can not believe they didn't change the master league. Konami had 1 whole year working on this game, the PS3 is a massive machine and the game is on blu-ray. What's their excuse??

The Japanese love it. They don't have any official forums to listen to their European customers (and their "policy" is to accept no emails or letters with suggestions on their games - that's not being sarcastic, that is an official policy that is mentioned on their official website).

So the Master League won't change until the game-mode portion of the programming is handed over to Konami Europe to localise. Which won't happen because everybody will buy PES regardless, and if sales are high they will have no indication that there is a "problem".

(And before anyone considers flaming me for being negative, please read my last post before this one)

Blue Ray doesnt really mean anything regarding this. Like other people have said they never got anywhere near to filling up a DVD Disc.

Seems like we have to wait until PES2009 for Master League improvements.

Let the countdown begin!

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Great news FreMM, stadia editing sounds like the new next thing for Konami to give us more editing options. :)
And some might seem to forget that the PS3 comes with a 60gig HDD, so i would assume that the edited stadiums are going to be stored there.

*trouwens FreMM, als jij je neef een belletje geeft morgen, ken je dan ook vragen hoe dat presies in z'n werk gaat dat stadion editten? en wat de mogelijkheden daarvan zijn? :)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

freMM

Just so we can all guage the context of your cousins comments, what kind of PES player is he? Is he as obsessive as we all are about it and would worry about infinitemessial aspects of gameplay, untucked shirts, nets, shoes, and real hair!! Or is he a more run of the mill video games junkie with no real preference for PES or fifa but just enjoys a good footy game?

Plus can you also ask him if the screenshots that we have all seen as listed on the first page of this thread, if there are PS3 shots or not, or if he thinks we have only seen PC/360 screens so far, or if he is not sure?

Cheers

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

well considering he is saying the graphics are nice but not out of this world I think it is safe to say all versions look the same considering some people thought the PS3 version was gonna look way better than the 360/PC game.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

what is this master league you all speak of? haven't noticed this in previous versions...(add sarcasm LOL@KONAMI)

Anyway. I wanna see 360 gameplay YEAJH!

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

God, id be well annoid if the ML structure was still the same 16 teams in a league shit! Its so easy to just make it 18-20 teams for each full league, and an extra one for all the other teams.

Things like the game flowing and reacting better, and keepers not being morons anymore but making quality saves does sound good though.

hmmm, given their track record, it seems highley unlikely they'll do anything substantial with the ML unless the message gets through to them that we crave it.

The gameplay comments sound a little more promising now, although I'd really like to know how this "smoothness" manifests itself. Is it smooth in the sense that you have more than 8 directional movement (closer to analogue) and smooth in the sense that the cpu isn't continually interfering with your player's movements (cpu cheats)? I guess I can cling to that hope for the time being.

As for ML, assuming they've once again not actually made any structural changes, the campaign to lobby Konami has to begin. I'm sure even the Japanese audience would appreciate it if it was revamped to mirror the real world structures. I vote for Stringer Bell to lead the campaign :applause:.

Go Stringer! We're all counting on you now.

yeah i think so too, but was just curiious if the PS3 looked slightly differnt in any way. you know how different consoles can look different even when they are ports of the same game

I do actually think that the ps3 version will be different to the PC/360 versions but in some sort of additional content or feature and not graphics.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Seeing as they putting in diving maybe they should all the niceties such as spitting on your opponent, elbowing him in the face, stomping on his nuts when his down but all these will only be possible if the player has a 'Unsporting behaviour' special ability.

Ooh maybe they could add bribery because I never know what to do with all the money I have in the ML.

The J-League game creates the real leagues so I would expect that at least in this version.

Marco Materazzi "special kick" against Shevchenko would be a nice addition, too.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

I dont know if it was mentioned here, cause I really lost myself on all those pointless replies :-), but I red today on Xlive, Czechoslovakian site :
Hra, bude pri zahrávaní rohového kopu ponúkať hráčovi možnosť, voľbu sily a intenzity hlavičky avšak čo je zaujímavejšie, aj výšku výskoku hráča. Platiť to bude samozrejme tiež počas priamych kopov súpera, kedy si budete môcť obranný múr zosynchronizovať podľa svojich predstáv. Tím sa taktika zvolená v pokutovom území povýši do iných sfér.
Game will allow u to set how high u wanna jump by the corners and by free kicks , it means that u can tell your def. players how high they are gonna jump in the wall ? :-)) . And also the article says something about possibility to make something with intesnity of defensive headers by the corner , I dont ubderstand what that means .

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

sorry to be a bit obsessive about this lads but fremm, could you ask your cousin if there is long tape and what the boots are like?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Ok just called my cousin

* He said that there s no need to worry the game looks and plays amazing. he got a 85% finished beta so it all looks very promising

Cheers

Good news...thanx for the infos

Could you ask him if the IA of the cpu is improved? more realistic in defence and counter-attack ?

Cheers

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Hopefully they at least fix the ML development model - wouldn't really care about the structure if they made the development actually realistic (so the game was playable over 3+ seasons)

I don't really think that makes any sense. you can't predict how high the ball will be so why would you tell your defenders how high to jump.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Ok guys here goes; had another little chat with my cousin, think I'm starting to annoy him now, but frankly I couldn't care less.
I started off by asking him about the stadium editor. He said that it was in there but he couldn't acces it. If he pressed "X" to enter it, nothing happened.
Then I asked him about the editing mode. He had a quick browse and told me that you can practically alter everything and that editors will get an orgasme if they see it. Like I said, he had a quick snoop and said that editing possibilities are almost endless.
The guy is (much like myself) a real PES freak. He even introduced me to ISS way way back.
His personal intrest was finding out if the gameplay was next-gen.
He said and I sort of quote: " I didn't have very high expextations due to some poor screenshots and the fact that the communication between SCEE and Konami Tyo isn't exactly a healthy one. I was expecting yet another dissapointment in the PES series
