Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

If they put half as much effort into improving the Master League and scripted gameplay as they did signing up overpaid twats to appear on the front cover of 28 different regions we'd probably have the best game ever created.

Spot on ,it's not like signing "stars" as covers would make people buy the game (at least for normal people) .They should save the money and get a few more liscences. There is nothing wrong with having a normal cover for the game .

I agree with fanboysforbreakfast.... Ah well we can only hope. I have noticed certain members have gone quiet at this time. Not much from EPG or Tobi or TG?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

More Asian teams needed.

Iraq should be added for being Asia's champions (congrats for any Iraqi in the forums)

Kuwait, U.A.E, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar (For having huge Pro Evo fans)

Uzebckistan is now an Asian powerhouse thus its only fair to put them in the game.

They dont have incuse now blue ray disk has a lot of space thus they can add as much national teams as possible.

Nazzo, they only ever used 2,2gb for pes so the whole data limit excuse was bollocks back then aswell. And wont be a valid reason for them to add extra teams to the game now. Hopefully leipzig will give some good info so both the positive and negative crowd can come to an informed conclusion about the game instead of the continued rumours/requests/hopes that are now filling the thread.

*goes off to check when leipzig starts*

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

I do play my next gen console on my SDTV and it looks way better than my old PS2.IMHO it's crazy to feel the need to buy an HDTV just for the sake of enjoying terrific images.HDTV are really expensive and not everyone who has a next gen console can afford both games and HDTV.I'm saying that because some of friends think that I'm a fool not to buy an HDTV.
NBA 2K7 looks terrific on my SDTV
Yep, Just like you I will be playing the PS3 (when i get it) on SDTV. :)

I won't be able to afford a HDTV for now.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

im sick of regional "stars" being on covers. its too much of a fifa thing to do. why cant we just have one badass cover like the good old days.

I really don't care who's on the cover, but I would prefer a cover like WEPES2007:JLeague over these covers any day, I like the design and how they just put teams instead of players, looks very good.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Can you imagine how many kids will be screaming at their parents because they want that game with Cristiano Ronaldo on the cover? It will sell more because of it.

Though it's unlikely a lot of people would play as those teams, I completely agree that they - and others - should be included, to cater for the broader market. Konami have always let us down regarding national teams, replacing rather than adding, which doesn't develop the game in any way. Pure laziness in my opinion.

How could Konami not include Iraq, now that they're the Asian champions? It would be ridiculous if they didn't. They added Latvia to PES5 (at the expense of Austria) when they made Euro 2004. And Trinidad and Tobago to PES6 (at the expense of Jamaica) when they made the World Cup. Thinking about it, it's a bloody disgrace! We've had to choose from the same countries for years, and it's not good enough. The game should be packed with teams, both national and club. Pull your finger out Konami!

Ok guys, here goes. I know people will crucify me or call me a liar etc but previous years I also reported some new facts about PES and I was right...If u don't believe me that s your prob.

My cousin works for SCEE and had a PS3 hands-on experience with 2008. I'll give a brief summary of what he said

* No ML overhaul; still the same
* Terrific new animations; the game flows like a genuine match
* You can edit EVERYTHING yes stadia & balls too
* Graphics look good, but not awesome
* Crowd is more present in terms of noise
* Keepers make faboulous dives and saves
* PK system has improved

That's all I can remember for now :d

Cheers

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

so if you edit the stadiums and balls would this all be kept on the option file. I wonder how it will be to transfer option files around from ps3 to ps3. Man if you can imagine now we can patch everything with just the option file, if they allow you to edit the pitch color i think that would be awesome. If all of this is true then i think its safe to say that konami are leaving up alot of the licensing to the editors, which i think awesome. Now if they would just give us the source code and allow us to add things to the gameplay(like civ)... :)

Another positive update none the less.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

freMM's post pretty much echoes what I heard from my contact (they even use the same words in some places, i.e. "the game flows" like a genuine match), and then goes on to say stadia and ball editing is available (which my contact hinted at, "huge editing suite", but couldn't confirm). So it all seems pretty genuine to me. Thanks, freMM.

All sounding pretty good so far, would love to hear more on the gameplay though. Especially versus the CPU, coughcough. :)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Well my cousin was most suprised about the way the game felt. He said he expected a lot of "expansions" cause the game is next gen, but he never thought that it would flow so beautifully and realistically. The n-depth editing was a nice bonus but his exact words were: "you cannot believe how "real" this game looks..screenshots mean nothing, u have to see the motion, absolute poetry."

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Ok... Ok... so, about the release date, aparently is oct 26 in europe, but is that a global release date? or its coming earlier in america or japan?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Crap, been absent for few days expecting some sensational news/videos from PSM3 mag or other, and bugger all!!:(

Mind you that info from JBs contact sounds promising! flowing gameplay etc etc , yes come on!

edit- sorry FreMM, nice news to confirm that as well!

Was browsing consolegoals.com and found a great little vid, not sure if this has been mentioned on evo web before (apologies if so) but the vid is a nice bbc goal of the month rip off plus mashed up with real life commentary.
ttp://www.consolegoals.com/view_video.php?viewkey=c67822bcf3679d04369f
makes you think how heavenly PES would be if we could get that kind of level of commentary and crowd sound. oooh. makes the hairs on back of my neck stand up!!

Hey JB I also saw some posts from Jack Bauer GB on there, Is that you?? If so you need to get a better camera dude!! ;)

Stadia editing? How would that work?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

Nets, seats, adboards (many others things I think (hope))

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

freMM

Thats great info thanks.

Any chance your cousin could elaborate on the info, like improved PK system, what does he mean exactly?
Being able to edit "everything", does that mean we can do away with patches and simply create all correct shirts.sponsors etc? Woo Hoo!!

"the game flows just like a real match" aye carumba!

Can you ask him about analogue control as well?

Cheers!

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/01/07)

np Samba2

Control basically the same but less scripted, you can movetowards lot of different directions

If you get a penalty against, the camera will move behind the goal

I don't read about teamvision.
You probably spoke about things which are not yet announced?
No fantasia mode?
