WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread

The Pro G review makes great reading. Good to see Konami get the public kicking they deserve. The more of this that's published, the more chance they will actually invest in developing the game instead of dicking around.

The sad thing is Pro G rate FIFA08 better than PES2008. I've got FIFA08 and it's not very good....I've not played it in a fortnight and have littel desire to play it again. With PES2088 sounding as bad as it does, I really don't feel like buying it meaning I'm probably stuck for another year with WE10JL on my PS2 :(.

Any word on a FIFA patch that makes the AI less crap?
 
Slowdown and poor frame rates are so last gen. It's amazing to think that some scientists have replaced supercomputers with PS3s, and an experienced game developer can't get a football game to run without having a heart attack.

From Pro-G so were are the WENB boyz with their no slowdowns super smooth version of the game - are they on Seabass's payroll?

Je pensais bosser tranquillement aujourd'hui mais un pote me telephone pour me dire que PES2008 PS3 sera dispo a 18h dans un magasin, donc je part avec lui a 15h labas ^^, histoire de provoquer un peu le vendeur donc je rentre dans le mag je demande PES2008 PS3 et il me dit "oui c'est bon je viens juste de le recevoir" donc impec il me dit le prix c'est 69,90€ donc normal, on rentrent chez moi, direct avant de faire un match j'installe le jeu sur le disque dur, apres je lance un match je prend Lyon et lui le bayern, je suis assez agresif sur le porteur et je me retrouve avec 4 joueurs exclu, le score reste a 0 - 0 il me marque un but en prolongation avec Ribery et je me fait sortir un nouveau joueur, donc il gagne 0 - 3 sur tapis vert (premiere fois depuis que je joue a la serie), je me dis bon il va falloir que je me calme, je prend le Barca et lui Man Utd je lui colle 1 - 0 avec Ronnie sans faire de faute, après on fait un petit Milan Real je mene 1 - 0, avec Pirlo je fais une passe en profondeur sur Inzaghi et la hors jeu le replay se lance je fais start et la le jeu bloque bon je relance la PS3 confiant et la le disque ne se lance pas bon je relance proprement je test Virtua Tennis 3 pareil, je test un film DVD pareil, je test un CD Audio pareil, je lance la demo de GT5 Prologue niquel, donc je vais a la Fnac avec la console et la garantie ilstestent la bete, meme chose donc voila ma PS3 au SAV pour 3 semaines maximun d'après le mec de la Fnac le jour ou PES2008 arrive...

voila mon aventure en meme temps je suis pas plus triste que ça car j'ai pas mal de taff mais bon c'est toujours chiant...

Sino le jeu en lui meme QUEL PIED !!!! je rasure les gens, le frame rate est tres bon ingame, c'est seulement sur les replays que ça merde.

Listen again mate. So no they are not on the payroll.

There are differing views of the game on here are they all on Seabass's payroll???

Ok, so the based on this guy, the framerate is "very good ingame" for the PS3 version.

I wonder if the games framerate was this good without turning anything off in the PS3 menus.
 
Well they have only mentioned the framerate issue very recently - please don't try to tell us that thet didn't claim to have played a wonderful version with no problems a couple of weeks before the launch of the title.

People will just have to draw their own conclusions as to if they wish to give value to the 'news' that comes out from WENB (pity they now avoid honest critics and do not post here anymore). But I'm happy that at least someone is telling it like it is over at Pro-G; all of this hype for a game that can't even function properly on the most powerful console in gaming history; what a joke Konami are in my view.
 
Don't know where else to post this but "does anyone know if you can pick/replace teams in the ML, to have two full leagues of English teams say. If the shop has gone does that mean the option to be able to edit and alter the ML has gone too, along with the starting points etc.
If I can't edit the piece of crap to make it a slightly better pile of steamy poo, I'm going to have all year to get to grips with Fifa.

You have done fuck all but bitch and moan for the last month about how shit WENB is and show shit PES is this year, you are like a broken fucking record. You made your point early enough in the thread and now you are just repeating yourself but phrasing your disgust in different ways with each post.

You are obviously a regular reader of WENB too, does reading it anger you that much that you come over here to slag it off?

We all know that PES this year has its faults, most of which have been widely reported in the media so far. The fact that Seabass has come out and basically said the game isnt as good as it could be also speaks volumes.

2 suggestions here for ya, choose the one that appeals the most to you:
1. Shut up and bugger off
2. Carry on making the same points ad infinitum so that it gets to the point where you bore everyone rigid

The problem with PES2008 is the release had to be met. WE2008 does not have that problem.

Why at Leipzig did no one mention this ridulous slowdown, to me it just says they rushed the last part of development
 
i hate the fact the content of the game is pretty much the same for the past 5 years.

i hate all the bugs.

but still i love the game and i can't explain why. :(

Nov 22. My point is really we dont know when they exactly stopped touching PES2008!

They are probably still doing WE2008. I probably am wrong just giving my thoughts. I still think WE2008 will be the best version.

Look after the own & all that. Sony need the sales over there.

Will it definitely have an English language option (ie. all the menu's, players names, etc in English - not just English title page or commentary)?

Will it work on any PS3 from any country?

Apparently it has full english option. Also Nov 22 is release.

And yes to poster above it will be released on PS3

There's a difference between an opinion and a fact.

It's a fact the graphics aren't 9/10, everyone can see the game has major graphical issues. It's even more a fact the originality isn't 8.7/10. What's new in this game?

NO FRAMERATE PROBLEMS ON CONSOLES(ps3's)THAT HAD NEVER SIGNED ONTO PSN TO RECEIVE ANY UPDATES (ver.1.92 etc). i guess an update(25th) can fix the problem with replays then.
