The TV Show Thread

I'm surprised how well written the first book is.
I've read the first half and watched episode 1.
This is great but I never understood the principle of cutting and pasting shows/movies.
But maybe the other episodes are a bit different.
 
Just watched the pilot of Falling Skies, not bad, would give it a strong 7.5/10 bit slow but such pilots tend to be, will obviously continue watching it :)
 
Just started part 2 of it, not too impressed so far. Way too cheesy, too slow, acting not too good. I'll see how it goes.

The books are great and the TV show has been rising the bar up to the end. The final episode was just perfect. I loved the tone after episode 9 and how it sets things for season 2.

Great first season. If they can build on this, we have an incredible saga in our hands.

@Dags: yes, the final scene was perfect. I didn't know it was going to be done that well...

though I would have loved a bald Daenerys and the dragons breastfeeding from her. That image of the book is absolutely amazing.

Very good start to season 2 (next one is on tonight!).

I like that it doesn't follow on directly after season 1, but it was a little confusing... I had to look up the characters on the Luther website to see who Caroline Jones was(who went to ask Luther for a favour about her daughter). I kept thinking I'd missed something from the first series!

Glad you liked it! Season 2 is only 4 episodes, but liking the new villain. :)
 
Just started to watch Luther, watched S01E01 last night and loved it.
 
I normally hate British "drama", but Luther sounds good, might have to watch it.

Just started watching The Sopranos, enjoyed the first episode :).
 
Luther is superb, Thorne is also pretty good, not sure if a second season is coming? Another one that was very good which had then seasons then ended was The Fixer :)
 
Anyone watched Wilfred? One of the most bizarre TV shows I've came across, quite funny too.
 
Wasn't impressed with the start of this seasons True Blood. The beginning was just a mess, like some shitty fairy tale B-movie. Then nothing much seemed to happen afterwards.

Meh.
 
Watched episode 1 to 8 over the weekend of Game of Thrones. Really good, will probably finish it off tonight with an end of season doublebill!

The only issue I have though is that I want to see how the rest of the story unfolds. As not much has happend really, but it has set itself up for the rest of the story. Think it will be a great series to get as a complete box set and then watch it all!
 
Read the book. :) If you have an iPad or something I think you can just get it on that.

First episode was poor,the fairy scene's looked like they'd been pulled from Star Trek. Second episode is better, with plenty of Bill flashbacks and story fills.
 
Did anyone see the Luther finale last night?

Really enjoyed it, however was hoping
Alice would have been more involved this season.

Hopefully a 3rd run is confirmed soon... #totallyepic


Also finished Justified S2 this week. Another awesome program :)
 
hehe, yep enjoy it mate again.

Started the first couple of episodes of Game of Thrones, quite good actually. Although a lot of riding really............................and I don't mean on horses.

Blonde lass is quite a looker right enough.

Anyone tried Suits? Pretty fun new show, very enjoyable :) Somehow managed to miss White Collar first time around, getting caught up now, excellent show :)
 
Going through the final few episodes of the Shield complete boxset.

Such an amazing show that held a very high level of consistancy over the 7 series and this final series is incredible - so many "oohhhh shiiiit!" out loud moments!

Cannot wait for the last episode as I've read its widely regarded as one of the best finales of anything ever!
