is it only gonna be PES 6 or there's also gonna be PES 4 & PES 5 ?

Hi,

We often discuss here the "golden era" of PES : the PS2 ones.

I'm just curious on PS1 which one do you prefer ? Personally it's ISS Pro 98 European version.

European differs from the USA version - the US version is more similar to WE3 WC98 and the EU closer to WE3 Final in terms of gameplay.

It's less elaborated than ISS Pro Evolution 2 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2 but the fact these games have overpowered mechanisms (one-two). In ISS Pro Evo 1 the through balls are even stronger than in ISS Pro 98 (where they were already quite powerful) imho. It got fixed as of ISS Pro Evo 2 though.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2. Queen intro and after becoming champions. The best AI. Being able to play as club teams outside of Master League makes a big difference too. Although the club names are Konami’d, and badly too!

There is something aesthetically pleasing in PES 3 graphics

There really is. It's actually one of my favourite looking video games in general. The standout part is the lighting. It’s amazing. I'd recommend to anyone that plays setting up a CPU VS CPU match in the rain at somewhere like the Olimpico and watch it for a bit. The subtle fog effect on the rain weather looks quite similar to old football highlights on TV. There's also smaller but impressive details for the time like the adboards reflecting on the ground to simulate puddle reflections. It also has the best looking crowd on any PES from that era.

Plus, it’s a damn good game!

I tried the WE9LE ps2 version for the first time this week. Before, i always played the pc version.

I know some people say it's placebo, but i really think that the ps2 game version is more difficult (pcsx2 or on original hardware, doesn't matter). The CPU attacking prowess is much better than on PC. It's really weird that the PC versions seem always easier.

I finally got my Legion Go S emulation going again after it stopped working for (in my view) no reason, played a couple of original ISS Pro matches and it is so amazing how well this game holds up, it has the odd bit which takes time to get used to again, rigid passing, the most effective tackling just being running into the opponent, the automatic 1-2 pass, but apart from more modern versions of PES and maybe a couple of Fifa games, I can't think of a single pick up and play football game that has felt better than this does, for the last what, 30 years??? Doesn't hurt that my man Fouler got a winner as well :APPLAUD:And one of the first things I noticed was the headed clearances, they are so contextual and realistic, the ball just travels as far as the defender can get it, no magic power pistons hidden in the player's forheads, like in recent Fifa games.

Looking forward to getting some PS2 emulation going, maybe trying out those Winning Eleven games that I never had a chance to back in the day.

i think that too when it comes to the idea that PS2 games are more hard than PC versions, might be a placebo but i always would rather want to use the pcsx2 version rather than PC.

WE9LEK for PS2 was released on february 2006, while PC version only some months later ... so It could plausible also that konami re-touched something from a version to another, in the same way as it used to do when it released a version of the same game in a different market months later...

Recently, I haven't played either version enough to be able to say whether it really is as you say, but if it is, it could be because of what I said about the different release dates for the two platforms,

while, instead, latest days I have been testing the gameplay of WE-PES2007 (for PC and for PS2) and I can say that the PC version released as latest version and the gameplay of the PS2 version released months earlier has differences that can be "felt" and noticed, confirming what I wrote before about Konami's habit of retouching game-plays "a little bit" if the game was released with different dates a few months apart; in this case about WE-PES2007 gameplay, my firsts impressions could be said I can prefere the PC version, but it can be subjective; both platform versions are a retouch of PES 6 gameplay, as is WE10LE... as is pes6 was has a retouched gameplay of WE10 japan in the same way WE10 Aoki Samurai or also JLWE10 were

I repeat: it is known that Konami tweaked and optimized the gameplay even in the same game family if released in other markets months later, even if the optimizations today are not always liked by fans who can replay to all games at the same time; while at the time the games was released you played a single title for months and then when you heard the news about new gameplay, you played that one only if you gave yourself time to get used to it and often you appreciate latest one than previous, but they were other times, without all this abundance of today, and about the gameplay you had you learned appreciate it in the deep of all its faces, being however "forced" to play it for at least a year certainly without feeling the need to change the gameplay.... of course when the new title arrived, then after a year you could appreciate a breath of fresh air but in any case everything remained subjective as now
