Agreed.

I watched this the other night expecting a cross between Oceans Eleven and the Illusionist, it was anything but. It started well, but just got lost in itself and ended very badly.

I couldn't work out in the end whether I liked it or not, could and should have been so much better. A very weak plot in my opinion.

No release yet planned stevann but it does have a distributor ready in the wings.

I wouldn't worry. It's an okayish horror film. Pretty derivative but there are thousands of other films awaiting blu ray transfers and DVD release.

Be patient and it will certainly come to DVD. A lot of films are not deemed of enough artistic or monetary value to come to blu ray. Remember a proper blu ray restoration or high quality transfer even of relatively recent films can cost a substantial sum of money.

If you like very old horror Nosferatu is coming to blu ray on the Masters of Cinema label in standard and steelbook form.

No word as yet on the quality of the transfer but it should be a top class restoration with plenty of featurettes and documentary.

Should be right down your street as your part of the world is where the legend of the vampire started. :))

Don't know, it doesn't look as bad as other video game based movies. In fact I had the strange feeling of watching a trailer from the F&F-universe.
 
That's the thing, how do you make a Need for Speed movie without it turning into a F&F knock-off? Since both the movie series and the game have such a similar (original) storyline...

There's really not much you can do that the F&F serious hasn't done yet.

I haven't seen the movie but I think it's more important to get Shyamalan some lessons. He made a fantastic film (The Sixth Sense), then a great one (Unbreakable), then a good one (Signs), and after that he has been a turd factory. The Village, The Happening, The Lady in the Water were all SHIT. He used to be a new Spielberg in the making but he lost his way ages ago.
 
World war Z: A zombie-movie with Brad Pitt. I was curious:
The first 20 minutes were imho great, so tense and riveting. I thought, wow, that will be a great movie. It was great to see Brad Pitt trying to keep his family safe. But then something strange happened: He brought his family to a military ship in safety and he left them to search for a cure.

From then on the movie got really boring and uninteresting.

What a great opportunity was simply wasted: Instead the movie should have been about Brad Pitt and his family and only that. It would have been so awesome to see them trying to survive and slowly but surely Brad Pitt's past as secret agent would come to light, thanks to the survival-skills he shows. And his family learns about all the lies he told to keep his work secret from them. And so while there is an outside-drama because of the zombies, there is an inside drama because of the life-lies Brad Pitt told.

Maybe the inside drama would boil to the point that the mother decides to take her children and leave her husband in the middle of the night while he's sleeping. So that Brad Pitt when finally awaken gets the additional stress of finding them again, reading signs.. all the while worrying what might happen to them on their own... until he finally finds them but with one of his daughters bitten...

So, a good start, but a lame movie overall, with no interesting subtopic. 4/10. Could and should have been so much better.

amazing, I love this kind of movies, with many characters related in some ways, like Babel, Crash, etc ..

Watched Pacific Rim.

I'll be generous seeing as Jax and Stringer Bell is in it and give it 7/10.

Great effects, but kinda seen it, done it kinda film.

I really don't know what to think about this movie. I feel, it has a message, but I don't think I got right when watching it.

The message was that being a facetious prick with no regard for others ends up making you the worlds youngest billionaire. Charming really.

Is this in English ? I've done my homework and it stated French/English ? I'm assuming there are two versions, and it's not French with English Subs?

Either way, I'm going to check this out tonight, it sounds brilliant.


I watched Prisoners last night, really enjoyed it. Very well acted, excellent script, and kept you guessing till the end. A parents worst nightmare. I loved the way it ended, although I'm sure some may have a different opinion. I felt it befitting. 8.5/10
