The Movies Thread

I loved Crash, one of my all-time favourite films, so this sounds interesting. Might watch it tomorrow night or something.

People have likened it a little to Donnie Darko, but don't be put off by that if you didn't like DD. It's superbly written and directed (the same guy did Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood) and the characters are fantastic. It's definitely not for everyone as Milan says, it is a little long, but overall it has a great cast and a fantastic soundtrack.

I'm glad I picked it out of my DVD rack. Tonight's entertainment is Requiem for a Dream, now this film is a trip :)

I Love You, Man - 7.5/10

Some funny moments, VERY cheesy, not even close to The Hangover or Superbad in comedy though.

I've read that Up is getting released on BD in the US in November and it got me thinking, why is it not out over here in the cinema until October?!

Magnolia - 5/10

Eh? I'm going to go on IMDB and find out what exactly that was all about because it just seemed a bit weird. It was interesting seeing the characters evolve as the film went on, but it just didn't really make much sense at the end.

Watched Up in 3d. 9/10. Best movie I've seen this year. It has gotten to be a tradition by now that Pixar does it again and again and again.

Of course, it's the best film I've seen this year because the rest of films are getting worse eveytime. Worse and worse. Nothing minimally inspiring in the theatres in the whole summer...

Watched Shaun of the dead in dvd. First part was hilarious, secondth part was just ok.

The films I liked over the past month are Hangover and Knowing. I am a fan of Nicholas Cage movies, good movie but I liked "Next" better.

Hangover is hilarious. Hangover 2 is being prepared for. The bearded guy I think signed. :D

Does it look good Nick?

It was one of the few films that I was forced to watch in my first year at Uni and actually liked.

That's fine, the BD is £10 @ Amazon, I'll add it to my hit list.

Yes Up is in the cinemas of course! About Chungkin Express, is the movie I liked most by Wong Kar Wai, I think he later went on too cheesy aesthetical films while this one remained somehow "authentic"...

Going to watch Public enemies tonight. Not too keen on handycam movies, but Michael Mann is quite a good director and I just love gangster movies if they're well done.
