The Movies Thread

Are you mad. It was an absolute shower of shite. I loved the first part of the film including the bank robbery part but after that it turned to absolute shit. Completely ridiculous film and ruined it. It was like the writers made a good script until half way then decided to take a piss all over it.

Damn, I'm off to see this on Tuesday, I hope you're just being bitter and twisted Noted because she would not put out on the back row... ;))

Go and see it then you will see what I'm talking about. Awful film. It's a shame because I think Will Smith is a great actor and the concept of the film is great and just when its getting good theres an awful twist which ruins everything. Then the last half of the film is complete torture

Loved it up until the twist though. Not worth paying for but I'd find another way of watching it just for the first half. Some of the stuff he says is hilarious

"You're breath smells like alcohol!"
"Thats cos I've been drinking bitch"

Just watched 'The Happening' with Mark Whalberg in.

Without a shadow of a doubt the worst film I ever seen in my life. Definite 0/10. It doesn't even deserve a 1/10 for the fact it was so bad it was laughable. You may be thinking I'm being a bit over dramatic, but I seriously cannot think of a film that tops it. Mark Wahlberg was simply awful, the dialogue what tacky and the characters in general had no purpose.

Oh and as a side note, there is array of bloopers throughout the movie including a boom mic that is visible in the Model House scene. This, I'm sorry, is unforgivable. Whatever happened to the genius of M. Knight Shyamalan in his films such as The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable?

I feel so frustrated after watching this film, I don't know whether it's the loss of 1.5 hours out my life or just with the film industry in general for allowing this trash into the mainstream.

All in all I'm left with a feeling of how ironic the title to this film really is. What exactly did happen? I'm lost. It had no point to it whatsoever, just a bunch of people committing suicide. I've even tried checking out IMDB to shed some light on the main story.

 lovely review of really possibly the worst movie ever. still, i'd rate it 1/10 cause i enjoyed the jeep vs. tree and the lawn mover vs, man scenes. :DD

Thats disappointing to hear:( I like movies like this but it seems everyone hates this movie. So I dont think i'll even bother. I can't picture Marky Mark being a normal person in this, I just expect him to whip out a shotgun.

The new Keanu Reeves movie looks quite good - The Day the Earth Stopped

Yeah 'The Mist' is a great movie. Don't be put off by the CGI scene in the first 30mins.

P.s. I might be slightly biased. I'm a massive fan of Stephen King, have all his books and movies which is slightly stalkerish.

ok, will watch that tonight than :D

how about some more recommendations...i'm looking for movies similiar to the happening, but maybe better? alien invasion, end of the world etc.

i've seen signs, the invasion, war of the worlds and maybe some more i can't recall right now

The Man From Earth. Its a total SciFi film that wasn't very publicised. I think its one of the best movies I've ever watched. Its not an action flick, its very dialogue-based, and involves a lot of history.

Read the spoiler and thought the ending was a total cop out - like he had no idea what to do... so thought he'd throw that in as an easy way out.

The Incredible Hulk

I liked the 1st version but don't like the new one. "It's OK" but it's far from exciting. There's 2 scenes in that movie and that's it. The rest is some guys made with bad CGS running.

It's not fun, nor funny.

"I'm pissed off but ready for round 3."

5/10

Watched Hancock. Thought it was alright, although I think the ending should've ended differently. Thought it was a good watch though.

Thought you would have hated the end. Don't you think:

It was pointless. The twist was so random and the film just because stupid with the whole storm thing and the fact they die if they get close together. But they were close together most of the film and they were both fine until the end

I watched The Mist last night

Decent enough film but it was very predictable. It was easy to guess that
there wouldn't be enough bullets for them all
and
that after he shot them all the mist would clear

Yeah so good put predictable

I dont understand the storm and all that shit. Where did that all come from. When she was close to him throughout the film there was no combat or anything. When he was fighting crime he was farish. I can see why you hate it. I think the film should've focused more on him doing super hero stuff rather than getting with her. Wouldve been amazing if she was the bad guy.

There's a series called 'Taken' by Stephen Spielberg. Recommend you check that out. I managed to pick up the box set from Amazon.co.uk for about £15.

thanks mate, i remember that one! it was aired here sometime last year but cancelled after 2 or 3 episodes (as every halfway decent us show, somehow german people can't cope with interesting storylines:p)

will definately check it out

I loved Hancock's comments about shoving people's heads up their asses but there was one I literally cracked up but I cant remember what he said. I think it was the scene at the dinner table but not sure.

Another one - "Someone should sue you" "Yeah well you should sue McDonalds cos they fucked you up"

The Mist - 7/10

Lost points due to the ending, which was predictable and so obvious.

Surely we all knew he'd shoot them all and as soon as he did, the mist would clear as Coopz said? Far too predictable and lacked originality and style I thought.

Good film for the most part, though a lot of things just wouldn't happen like it played out, and I thought the end was disappointing.

i saw the mist 2-3months ago and i thought it was a brillient horror movie. a shame what happened at the end.:((

I think it was far from brilliant

Horrors are meant to be scary as well and this wasn't at all

Speaking of Horror films it was John Carpenter week last week on SciFi and i watched Halloween, which still made me shit myself at some parts and The Thing

They are what you call Horrors :))

I don't think the Mist was intended to be a horror film, but more of a look at how human's react under fear and pressure.

If you want thriller/horror, try watching 28 Weeks Later - imo its miles better than 28 Days Later, its also based in Canary Wharf, near my house:D

28 weeks later is the biggest pile of shit i have ever seen

the only decent part was the chopper blades slicing em all up

'Wanted' is a good film.

If you just want an entertaining Fun film.
