The Movies Thread

The whole internet said its shit!

Ah no way, who cares what people say anyways have you actually seen it and judged for yourself? It's a pretty bold statement to say the whole of the Internet said it was poor. Even though it did only get a measly 4.9/10, there are still quite a few people on IMDB who liked it for what it was, an action film.

The movie was fine, I think it just tried to do too much and tried to be as good as Apocalypto.

If you want to see a really terrible movie mind, watch 'Doomsday'. Another ridiculous movie which tries to do too much and fails miserably.

Just watched 'Juno', it's brilliant. Had heard a lot about it and I have to say it's lived up to my expectations. There were lots of funny and emotional moments. Great script as well.

Woah, I've just watched 'The Bank Job', it was awesome.

Watched Cloverfield last night. Wasn't expecting that style of movie, but It was still a great movie. Leaves of course, as typical of JJ Abrams, alot of unanswered questions.
Beth is teh HOT.

haha seen that teeth advertised today.

Doomsday is quite good, nothing like I expected though. Some class acting I have to admit. Its definately worth a watch.

Iron Man is awesome...Watched it last night in digital and the format purely justifies the film.Lots of great CGIs and the best thing was they made this 'superhero' movie almost believable.Worst thing to me was the casting of Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts.Urgh.They could have done so much better with someone like Scarlett Johannsen or Elisha Cuthbert.

Awesome movie. If you liked superhero/action flicks...this one is a DEFINITE watch.

*Hint* Stay till the credits ended for a peek about a sequel.

No way, 'Doomsday' was rubbish! It was just totally random, at one point being similar to 28 Days Later, then Lord of the Rings, then Mad Max. And the robotic eye, what the hell was that all about!? Had a couple of good action scenes yeah... but all in all it was terrible.

p.s. Not to take anything away from Rhona Mitra though, she's gorgeous.

I thought Doomsday was disappointing. Complete ripoff of Escape from New York and 28 Weeks Later.

I watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall today and thought it was great. Very funny and different from the usual stupid humor. Its done by the Knocked Up/Superbad guys.

My mate watched "August Rush" and said it was a very good film, brought a tear to his eye.

Oh, I watched "The Kite Runner" a few days ago. 9/10 definately, awesome film and I bet it's a better book too.

I need to watch

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Juno
and the new Harold and Kumar

Dags did you watch Oldschool?

Not yet Coopz but my mate borrowed the DVD and said it was hilarious. I'll try and watch it tonight maybe.

It is hilarious :TU:

"True love is hard to find, sometimes you think you have true love and then you catch the early flight home from San Diego and a couple of nude people jump out of your bathroom blindfolded like a god damn magic show ready to double team your girlfriend..."

Disagree, it was very humourous!!! Yeah it was random, and I was sat there with my friend telling her WTF is going on? This is mad, but it was fun in the end. Different from any other film Ive seen!

Agree! Forgetting Sarah Marshall is very funny and a good script and some funny moments! I wasn't expecting the nudity right at the start! :-ll . The receptionist he loves is the one from That 70s Show, and she is fit as fuck in this :-...

I think I must venture into this thread a lot more as I have a Cineworld Season ticket so can see as many films I like for £11.99 a month, which my Dad pays for anyway! :w00t:

I've been meaning to get one of those Cineworld tickets, much better than paying £6.50 or whatever to see a film. I'd rather hammer through loads of films for only £12 a month.

Yeah Dags. It makes financial sense. You've only got to go twice a month and you save money! And last month I went 4 times! :BY:

Who needs the Cinema when you have a 100+ inch HD screen, 5.1 surround and the internet ;))

but you have to wait months before you can get hd version of films from cinema's for example where is the iron man HD movie? :P

I aint in no rush to watch any film

i saw Indiana Jones last night for the first time :))

ok thats a lie but the moral of the story is patience is a virtue
