The Movies Thread

...Oh and just re-watched The Blair Witch Project - that ending still gives me the creeps

the ending was brilliant!

funny though, I'd say about 80% of the people that I know watched the movie didn't understand what the kid was doing with is face to the wall.

"weird. the movie ended with the kid taking a piss"

:LOL::LOL::LOL:

I laughed for almost an hour after hearing that.

Just watched [Rec]

Scary. As. Fuck.

Fucking excellent film, better than Cloverfield and Blair Witch and creates a brilliant atmosphere which keeps you tense and expecting something to happen all of the time. Predictable at times but still made me jump. Top notch!

I don't want to go to bed now :(

The Orphanage.

Another excellent Spanish movie! Great story, great acting and actually made me jump more than [Rec]

Thanks I'll check it out Dags.

Just rewatched a few Shane Meadows films...Dead Mans Shoes and A Room For Romeo Brass - brilliant stuff!

Ratatouille (BD) - 9/10

Hollywoodland (BD) - 8.5/10

Awake

Good film, some good twists and turns. The tagline doesn't sound good but a friend watched it last weekend and said it's worth seeing and he wasn't wrong. If you like thrillers then I'd recommend it.

8/10

ratotouille was the best pixar yet imo. its perfect, everything is very well done and suits the whole scenario. although i am looking forward to wall-e, which might be even superior.

Watched 'The Orphanage', have to say wasn't that impressed I got a bit bored half way through. All seems a bit sameish with a lot of horror films using the invisible friend type storyline.

5/10 - still quite jumpy in parts and some good acting, but overall it's been done to death

It doesn't beat The Incredibles for me, that film was...incredible :DD

yeah incredibles was good too, especially the first half of the movie but the 2nd became too serious. i liked it when they parodied the whole super hero stuff

I got Appleseed Ex Machina on HD DVD and DVD combo today. Probably watch it this weekend. Thought the 1st film was great..

Saw REC today at a one off Directors Chair showing at the Odeon in Tamworth. Awesome film, scariest film I've seen in years.

The bit where Pablo films up inside the attic in the penthouse and you KNOW what is coming, yet it still scares the fucking living hell out of you? Best jumpy moment ever!

Good pace to it, good characters and acting I thought and a great, suitable ending.

9/10

Yeah i watched [Rec] and thought it was a good creepy film, a bit like The Eye (Jap Version) for its jump out your seat moments

and last night i watched The Kingdom and the night before that 1408 and both were good films

I watched Foolproof with Ryan Reynolds and David Suchet the other night, was a good film. Loads of twists and turns in the plot, and was quite funny too.

I aint watch a comedy for a while any recommendations lads?

Seen things Like Oldschool, Zoolander, Anchorman, American Pies ect just wondering if i have missed any gems

did u watch rec at the cinema or at home mate?

would like to see this one myself

....

i quite liked superbad, knocked up is worth a watch

Knocked Up is more of a comedy/drama whereas Superbad is straight comedy.

The girl in Knocked Up is stunning though :)

I watched Grindhouse last night

What an awesome film that is, especially the first one which is kind of a horror parody

you have laugh of loud moments, some wtf moments and some where you just ooooooo thats nasty

The trailers in between are great as well, especailly "Dont" with its famous "Dont open that door" line taken from a certain game and the awesome Machete

I watched The Man From Earth last night, one of the best films ive seen in ages. Definately a movie to watch for Sci Fi fans. Also watched the Mist - the things (SFX)look awful but the story was awesome!
