Inglorious Basterds - 7/10 (BD)

Entertaining, yes, but switching between a comedy and a serious movie too often. Tarantino-style, I guess. Pitt is playing well, but Waltz is way better than everyone else in this movie, no surprise he won an Oscar for this.

Avengers Assemble IMAX 3D - 9.5/10

I havn't been that entertained by a movie in, well, ever!

It had action (plenty of!), comedy, top-notch visuals and IMO it was very cleverly written with the way the characters were given contrasting personalities which played off against each other to create some great scenes.

It's the first time I've actually liked The Hulk in a movie too, Mark Ruffalo gave a great performance.

This was also the first IMAX 3D film I've seen, I was very impressed - it's far superior to the regular 3D (RealD), at some points (especially the fully CGI bits) it almost felt like you could reach out and grab things! Other points were a little jarring though, such as when things in the foreground went out of focus or when there was some shaky-cam.

I'll have to stop making a habit of watching loads of films in IMAX, it's meant to be some amazing movie experience as a special treat yet I'm just going every other week or so because it's free! When I end up watching anything on a typical cinema screen now it'll be like watching a VHS tape .

American Pie: The Reunion - 8.5/10

Rarely have I been so satisfied with the ending of a film. When you realise finally that something that's a surprisingly large part of your life ends it's weird (American Pie being the bar to which all those types of movies are judged, grew up watching the characters, feel like you know them as your friends, etc) and yet there it was, everything seemingly resolved.

Managed to be funny in the old style whilst still portraying a meaningful story, few films of this type manage to do that. Stifler is still the boss.

Felt relevant to me because I'm still stuck in high school/college, or at least wish I was.

Oh and there are too many (nah, too many doesn't exist) gorgeous women in it.

I'm quite into my fantasy films, and watched Prince Caspian a few weeks ago, which I enjoyed.

Watched Dawn Treader and enjoyed that too, not up there with the best, but in all was enjoyable.

Mission Impossible 4

Imho the worst of the whole series, it had little tension, practically no drama, no dialogue-interaction between good and bad, it was just a linear from A-B-action-movie... but even the action was not really gripping. Gets a 4/10.

Sherlock Holmes 2

Liked the first more, in the second it's too much of the changing clothes-Holmes. The end was a bit weak. Liked the train-sequence (especially the scene with Watson's wife). Gets a 6/10.

Celda

Good spanish prison-movie. Gets a 8.5/10.

The girl with the dragon tattoo

That was some good movie. Never read the book, nor did I watch the original movie, but this remake by Fincher gripped me from the first to the last minute. Liked it a lot. Especially the acting of the female lead was awesome. Gets a 9/10.

Prometheus

Besides some weird cuts between scenes, it is beautiful to look at, thrilling, gripping, adult.
Excellent movie.

9/10

some critics said its a big dissapointment altough i dont give a crap about others opinion really in a world where battleship and transformers meant to be scifi :P

1 week to go here

Should try and catch Prometheus.

Watched Thor last night, was quite good. Guess I see where AVengers Assembled comes from now.

Also had watched 2 movies fromt he other night, Quarantine (based on Spanish film Rec). Was not bad, althoguh I see it's going down a different avenue to Rec. The other I watched, another Zombie type flick, Day of the Dead, absolute drivel, starred Mina Suravi (or whatever she's called).

The Raid Redemption 10/10

the perfect action film with lots of amazing fight scenes and plenty of everything else you'd imagine from an asian flick

an early contender for film of the year

The Vow - 7,5/10
Romantic drama/comedy based on a true story. Decent enough.

Chronicle - 7,5/10
Thought it was interesting and enjoyable. Never heard of it before so was nice to discover it.

Safe House - 6/10
Pretty generic action/CIA movie.

Has anyone got some recommendations on good newer films? From 2010-now?
