NUTMEG: EUROPE IS TOUGH

Manuel Dos Santos lines up for Strasbourg in Europe

Racing Club de Strasbourg manager, Professor Nutmeg has revealed his side are finding their journey into Europe tough. The Alsace club have been competing in Uefa Champions League qualifiers and have only registered one point in four games. The draw came at home to Fenerbahçe where a 1-1 result played out, thanks to an equalising own goal, courtesy of Onder Turaci. Strasbourg began their European campaign brightly, going a goal up against PSV Eindhoven, against the run of play, only to lose the game 4-2.
With two qualifiers left, Racing are now unable to book a place in the Champions League proper. Instead the sky blues will drop into the Uefa Cup (i think that's what happens) seeking to continue their European adventure.

PS: Sorry bout using 3 posts in a row. If some things don't make sense it's because my english is a little rusty and besides i'm thinking what I write in spanish, lol.

A very tense Fulham entered Goodison Park today. Fulham had played two matchs against Everton earlier in the season with a devastating 1-4 and a tight 0-0 being the final scores. The new manager Cristián Cárdenas (21, Chile) desperatly needed a win today to keep Fulham alive in the Division 2 Cup. "Today we face one of the strongest team in the EPL Division 2. It will be a very though match but I trust in my players and I know for sure that they will leave everything they have on the field." - Cárdenas said.

Match Review

It was a very slow and boring first half, both teams trying to get the feel of the match and no one willing to risk anything on defense, so the teams went 0-0 to the locker room.

In the second half both teams went for the win. In the first minutes Andrew Johnson tested Kasey Keller's reflexes a couple of times but without any real danger. In the 14' minute Johnson was left alone against Keller but surprisingly he shoots right at the goalkeeper, maybe the nerves caught up on him.

20' minute : Alexey Smertin gets booked for the second time and gets sent off. It all seemed lost for Fulham until a couple of minutes later Diomansy Kamara recovers a ball and runs towards Everton's goal, he spots an open Steve Davis and crosses the ball to him who with a subtle touch to the keeper's left converts the much needed goal.

Afterwards coach Cárdenas decided to play with a 4-2-2-1 formation, thinking that even with a 1-1 draw they would be in the next round. Everton attacked and attacked but couldn't get through Fulham's defense. Brian McBride had the last chance when he tried an amazing left footed volley from half court that went straight into the post, it would have been one of the greatest goals in the club's history.

Transfers

Transfer Window
5 new faces join Fulham

A lot of surprises came apart in the first transfer window of the season. Fulham owners gave full responsability of the player transfers to coach C. Cárdenas who stated :

pressconferenceym9.jpg

" The players we had to let go was because they didn't have a spot to fight for in the team and they just wouldn't be considered, it's best for them that they already have found new teams that would put the to good use.
Also in my responsabilty of bringing Fulham back to the Divison 1 of the EPL I have solicited 5 players, wich are now part of Fulham and ready for the second half of the season. The club managment has put a lot of faith in me because of the great results we have acquired so far and I would like to publicly thank them for their trust and support.
Finally I would like to tell all Fulham fans that I promise that this season we will win a spot in Division 1 and also will win at least one title, wheter it's de D2 Cup or the D2 League. "

I've got a bastard problem in the ML... "I put the option for hiden and classic players in no, but in the transfer window i see Gerd Muller, Maradona, etc.in other teams and the option marked in yes..." What can i do?

Sorry for my very very poor english !!!

Cheers and thanks !!!

I think I'm very close to starting a new ML! Looking forward into getting into the action with you guys!

In my current, very fantasy, ML, Celtic just won Div1 on first attempt by 8 points. Matthew Taylor got 29 assists and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink got 22 goals. And I'm currently in the process of purchasing Juninho from Lyon.

Celtic look forward to the start of their first ever Master League season

Celtic captain Stephen McManus says that he is looking forward to the challenge involved in a Master League season.

"I think we have the quality to challenge the title in our first season." he said.

"I also know that with the quality we have at the back we can keep the goals out"

Celtic striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink said that he couldn't wait to start banging in the goals for his club.

"I am looking forward to scoring many goals this season. I hope that players like Aiden (McGeady) and Naka (Nakamura) can play a few nice balls into me and Skippy (McDonald)."

Celtic boss Nathan Waddell was also quoted to have said that he was keeping positive thoughts in his mind about the coming season.

"Although it is our first season in Master League football, I am confident that the Bhoys can get out there and score a few goals, and play some creative football."

When asked about potential transfer buys, Waddell said,

"I will be looking for more midfield support and some young African players."

When asked to name names, Waddell said,

"Possibly Manucho, the Angolan midfielder and maybe Bolton midfielder Matthew Taylor."

Celtic fans are also looking forward to the prospect of playing with big teams week in, week out.

Matchday 1 - 2006/07 Season
Celtic vs Galatasaray
----------------------------
Woodwork is Celtic's worst enemy - but they finish on top!
Celtic 4-2 Galatasaray
----------------------------
Celtic's big Dutch international Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink scored the first goal on the 5 minute mark by chipping the ball over the flailing Galatasaray goalkeeper.

However, shortly after the restart, Lincoln renewed Galatasaray's hopes of winning with a diving header which was not dealt with by the Celtic defence.

Immediately from this restart Massimo Donati ran down the right wing and crossed the ball in towards Vennegoor of Hesselink his header beat the goalkeeper but clattered back off the bar. Luckily for Celtic, Jiri Jarosik scored from the rebound.

In the 24th minute Celtic looked to have scored a third when Andreas Hinkel passed the ball down the wing to Aiden McGeady who played a great cross to Vennegoor of
Hesselink who again hit the bar with his header. This time Scott McDonald was on hand to follow up with the rebound, except he chipped the ball over the bar.

9 minutes later McGeady hit the bar with a header from Mark Wilson's cross.

In the first minute of first half injury time Vennegoor of Hesselink doubled his tally with a header from Scott Brown's cross. Massimo Donati played the throw in to Brown who ran down the right flank before crossing the ball straight onto Vennegoor of Hesselink's head.

At the end of the first half Celtic lead Galatasaray 3 goals to 1. Michael McGovern, the Celtic goalkeeper, has had nothing to do in the first half except pick the ball out of his net when he was left stranded by his defence.
----------------------------
Half Time
Celtic 3-1 Galatasaray
----------------------------
The first attacking play of the second half came in the 60th minute. Massimo Donati was played in by Vennegoor of Hesselink but his chip could only hit the post and be scrambled out of play for a corner by the Galatasaray defence.

The resulting corner was played inwards by McGeady and Jiri Jarosik was denied his second of the game as his header was cleared off the line.

Galatasaray were slow to attack but in the 63rd minute McGovern parried Arda's cross-cum-shot and Lincoln was on hand to capitalise for Galatasaray.

Celtic put the game beyond doubt in the 87th minute when McDonald converted McGeady's corner to score his first Celtic goal.

Celtic could've even scored a fifth when they caught Galatasaray out at the back in the 91st minute but Scott McDonald was halted by the final defender.

When the final whistle went Celtic looked overjoyed with their victory.
The final score could've been 6-2 or 7-2 if it hadn't been for the woodwork.

www.proevolutionsuperleague.co .cc

Would you like to be able to play games without LAG or cheats Etc?

Would you like to play someone other than Barcelona, Inter Etc?

Would you like become apart of something?

Would you like to make new friends?

Would you like to take your PES gaming a step further and become a league moderator?

Would you like to have heated discussions during the transfer window period?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, well the Pro Evolution Super League is for you.

Thanks

Hey guys, looking for some advice on where to go next in the master league.

I've just finished my third season with Napoli, it's been great fun but as I've now won the Champions League and Serie A in the same season I think it's going to feel a bit shallow from now on as there's not much left to aim for. I always go for realistic transfer targets and my team isn't exactly full of superstars, so as I've established the team as a superpower (or rated 'S'), I thought I might indulge myself and buy some top stars as I feel I've earned the right to! I tried offering max credits for Kaka and for Pirlo, but Milan just won't budge. While I appreciate they want to keep their best players I'm half way through the summer off-season and haven't made a single signing, if I start the new season with the same squad or the same old 'pretty decent' new purchases, I'll get really bored really quickly.

It's at exactly this kind of time I wish the ML had a Sensible World of Soccer-style option to leave the club and manage another team. I need a fresh challenge, but I love the world my ML is set in, I want to do that with the squads as they are, not wipe the slate clean and reset all the stats/rosters :(.

Anyway, here's the squad that won the lot for me (I'm playing on PS2):

GK: Landreau, M.
CB: Cannavaro P, Maldonado R, Domizzi M, Senderos P, King L, Zapata C, Tulio M.
WB: Flamini M, Nicolita B, Bridge W, Rullo E.
DM: Blasi M, Dalla Bona S, Gargano W, Hamsik M.
AM: Kluivert P.
SS: Lavessi E, Donovan L.
CF: Halil Altintop, Zalayeta M.

Where to now?

Hello Daniel nice to see you back.
Napoli is the perfect team for a disaster scenario...an all Italian team with young players perhaps...or play as much as possible with the same team, even if they are exhausted...

Hi Chaps,

Just wanted to let you know that Jeff & I have updated the website with all the Januray transfers.

We just need to iron out some of the lineups/formations etc.. so if anyone can offer any suggestions/information it would be most appreciated.

Anyone offering useful nuggets can expect to be acknowledged and receive a blankety blank cheque book and pen for their troubles!

cheers

Db: Anderlecht 's new signing are all playing (except Iakovenko):

Gillet and Chatelle in midfield (although Gillet was bought as a left bach, he plays as a central midfielder at the moment, Hassan was at the Africa Cup but i think he might have lost his first team place to Gillet).
Pieroni and Vlcek play upfront (Frutos is injured for a long time once again)

Club Brugge: Elrio Van Heerden is a first team player...

I'll search a litle bit around a give you th right starting elevens of both Belgian clubs...

I guess playing with VVV is a massive chalenge DB...do you play the PS2 or the PS3 version???

I've started a second ML with Everton.
After the midseason break i'm currently top of the league and bought two new players: Nico Krancjar and Fabrice Muamba from Birmingham. Gravesen and Turner (GK) left Everton.

Club Brugge: 4-4-2

GK: Stijnen
CB: Clement
CB: Klukowski
RB: Priske
LB: Blondel
CMF: Simaeys
CMF: Geeraerts
LMF: Leko
RMF: Elrio Van Heerden
CF: Sonck
CF: Sterchelé

Anderlecht:4-4-2

GK: Zitka
CB: Pareja
CB: Juhasz
LB: Van Damme
RB: Wasilewski
DMF: Biglia
CMF: Gillet
CMF: Polak
AMF: Boussoufa
CF: Vlcek
CF: Pieroni

If not injured Deschacht may play for Van Damme
Chatelle can play for Boussoufa and since Hassan is back from the Africa Cup i'm not sure if he will be in the starting eleven (according to pundits: not).
