Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hi Proff,

Looks like Arango's left leg is in severe danger of a mashing from Moises!

So much for parting the Red Sea, he'll be parting the Venezuelan's calf from his ankle :)

db

du-dum-tscch! :)

You wouldn't believe the "sitter" Basinas missed in this game. Maxi Lopez was coming in from the left of Kameni, at a tight angle and fired a shot. Kameni, covering his left post, saved, parrying towards the 6 yard line, bang centre of goal. Effectively it's an open net with Kameni out of the picture. Basinas comes steaming in and takes the rebound on the volley and fires over the cross bar from 4 yards! It was a hair's breadth, literally. However, it was very Ronny Rosenthal.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

It's all in the timing mate :)

Crikey, did you over egg the pudding a bit on the shoot button do you think ? or was it one of those occasions where Konami took control ?

Kameni i've increasingly come to notice seems to be a fine shot stopper but too often doesnt put the ball out of the dangerzone.

I reckon it was a Nokami moment. I just tapped it, honest guv'nor. It was very much one of those moments where you press pause and take a moment  then watch the replay.

COPA DEL REY - ROUND 1 PREVIEW

Professor Nutmeg's tinkering ahead of the King's Cup, will
ensure a frustrated Diego Tristan will get his chance to shine.

not2215.jpg

Tristan will start against
Real Zaragoza

"El Profesor" has indicated that he will rest his League regulars and field a changed side for the upcoming Copa del Rey clash at Real Zaragoza.

Miguel Moyá looks set to replace Toni Prats in goal, while Diego Tristan, who has largely been kicking his heels on the bench so far this season, will start in place of the in-form Maxi Lopez. The tactician also looks likely to hand a starting berth to Cameroon midfielder Daniel Kome, Tuni, Bosko Jankovic and defender Iván Ramis.

hi mate

not exactly white hankies is it! :)

good result in the derby for you.

db
Thanks.

Speaking of derbies are you gonna watch the Seville derby tomorrow?

ps -I'm guessing the white hankies comment is directed to Real Madrid's performance against Levante hahahahah!

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Some very enjoyable reading in this thread from both guys old and new:)

Just out of interest do any of you include Boca, River and Sao Paolo in one your your ML divisions or do you feel including these South American teams would make your ML unrealistic?
Nope, like Professor Nutmeg they are used for a pool of talent, though i never buy any of their players.

BTW are you doing an update to your option file?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Charlton Athletic win great division two final:

Reading - Charlton Athletic 2-2 (prolongations : 3-3, penalties 5-3)

4' Darren Bent
35th El karkouri sent off
68' Seol
72': Holland
89': Seol (pk)

96': Darren Bent
115': Harper

Once again a loss in a penalty kick off, i always loose in penalty kick-offs.
Considering they palyed with 10 (after a red card that wasn't deserved) Charlton deserved the win.
Unlucky losing Stan.

I don't like going to penalty shootouts, i find it a bit random and more often than not i lose them.

hi mate

yup it was.

yep, hopefully - although I hope it's better than the Kings cup game a week or so back. Looks like Fernandez is starting to pick Betis up as they've been having some good results recently and have become very hard to beat.

db

ps - cheers for the links to that dutch fan site. That fella who was having the rubber forced over his head looked to be enjoying it just a little too much :)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Penalty kick-outs are random affairs Stringer...both Sidwell and Harper shot their penalties sky high over the goal...randomly i think...
But nervertheless, i can live with that loss, good match and a referee that was biased in my favour...(great new feature in PES6, blatant referee erros now and then...here the red card for El Karkouri was given after an inch perfect tackle). Ten men Charlton were the better team. I face a tough second season. and will not be buying much players (and certainly no stars).

Another tough season Db...good luck.

I haven't really noticed the referee gets bias, the referee pisses of a lot in this game!

NCE Division 1 Cup Final

makaay-1.jpg

MAKAAY!!

Bayern Munchen vs. Sparta Rotterdam

For this match I played a counter-attacking 4-2-1-3 formation. My back four was on a high defense setting, with my front three and Medunjanin on low defense setting. Gudde and Dedechko was marking Baros and Pizzaro respectively, with Nimbombe stopping Poldolski (playing as AMF) creating any chances for Bayern. (Nimbombe and Dedechko would change position depending on how the match is going) H.Drost would occupy the LB slot for this match due to the fact his a better defensive LB than Gercaliu.

Formation:
…………………………Terol(GK)
Bruma(RB)……Gudde(CB)…... Dedechko(CB)…..H.Drost(LB)
……………………..Nimbombe(DMF)
………….Vidarsson(CMF)
………………..Medunjanin(AMF)
Yildirim(LWF)……………………………...Bouaouzan(LWF)
……………………van Tornhout(CF)

I took the lead early on in the second half with some great wing play down the left from Bouaouzan, who crossed the ball for Vidarsson to head in. I was in control from there on but didn’t take my chances. Bayern drew level with a cross from Kaiser which Baros headed in. Moment later Bayern took the lead when Kaiser crossed the ball from the left, Pizzaro headed straight towards my keeper who managed to keep the ball from going but the ball when straight into Gudde path and he accidentally kicked the ball into goal! I managed put the game level when Yildirim crossed it in for van Tornhout who headed the ball away from the keeper into goal. The game went into extra time when nobody could get a winning goal.

Makaay was brought on in the extra time and he managed to get a goal late in the first half to put Bayern ahead! I brought on Oost and Eremnko Jr. in the second half and went all out, but couldn’t get equalising goal. The game was all over when Eremnko Jr. lost the ball in the middle of the park to Kaiser, who put in a long ball to Poldoski and ran towards goal to cross it in for Makaay and smashed it into goal to put the result beyond doubt!

Bayern Munchen 4
Baros 27’
Gudde (OG)
Makaay 109’ 120’

Sparta Rotterdam 2
Vidarsson 4’
van Tornhout 53’

MOTM: Makaay (7.0)

Here is the highlight of the match. >click<

-

In the league I’ve got serious business to take care of. I’m currently second from bottom after I lost 3-2 to Stuggart. I was 2-0 up in the first half and got really complacent and lost the match 3-2 after Stuggart went on a rout in the second half!

NCE League Division 1 (after week 31)
1 Borussia Monchengladbach 56
2 Bayern Munchen 55
3 Borussia Dortmund 50
4 Bayer 04 Leverkusen 45
5 PSV Eindhoven 44
6 AFC Ajax 42
------------------------------------------------
14 Arminia Bielefeld 24
15 Sparta Rotterdam 23
16 1. FC Nurnberg 21

I got four matches to save myself from relegation, which will be tough!

Week 32: Bayern Munchen
Week 34: SV Werder Bremen
Week 35: Borussia Monchengladbach
Week 36: PSV Eindhoven

COPA DEL REY - ROUND 1 FIRST LEG

Diogo's late strike pegs back Mallorca at La Romareda, ensuring an all
to play for second leg at the ONO Estadi

318027-1527457-458-238.jpg

Zaragoza's Diogo celebrates his late equaliser

Real Zaragoza 1 Diogo 83'
Real Mallorca 1 Tristan 8'

As predicted, Professor Nutmeg fielded a changed side for the King's Cup first round and from the outset, it appeared he got his tatics right. Diego Tristan got the visitors off to a fine start eight minutes into the tie, when he headed Dorado's well delivered freekick goalwards. The former Spanish international's header, crashed in off the underside of the cross bar, giving Cesar Sanchez little time to react in goal.
Zaragoza peppered Mallorca's goal, spurring Moya into action, but the homeside couldn't get the equaliser they craved. D'Alessandro came close on a couple of occassions from freekicks, but Moya's acrobatics ensured the visitors kept the lead through the break.
However, in the closing minutes, the islanders lost concentration. Ewerthon broke down the right flank and whipped a well timed cross into the box, which was met ferociously by Carlos Diogo. Arriving in the box, the Uruguayan powered home a header past Moya to equalise seven minutes from time.
The 1-1 draw ensures an enticing tie at the ONO Estadi, but dictates that Zaragoza will have to score to progress further.

HEARTBREAK FOR BLADES

Sheffield Utd's promotion challenge went up in smoke after 3 straight draws against promotion rivals West Ham and Wigan and also lowly Reading. The second half of the season began so brightly for the Blades after 3 consequtive wins propelled them to 2nd in the table. However their uninspiring end to the campaign means they'll be battling it out in The British Premiership Div 2 once again comE the 2007/08 season.

PROMOTED TO DIV 1 - CHARLTON & WEST HAM
RELEGATED TO DIV 2 - EVERTON & RANGERS

Season 2 Pre-Season Transfers In

2924252992

David Thompson - BOLTON (£3.9M)
Mr Mnj felt that the highly talented journeyman still had enough to offer during the twilight of his career. Thompson's versatility was undoubtedly what drew him to Mnj's attention, "David will provide much needed competition for all of the 5 midfield positions" .

4245001001

Leon Osman - EVERTON (£1.5M & Alan Quinn)
Mr Mnj felt that Osman can provide the missing link in his side that can turn their promotion dream into reality, "Over the past few years this team has done well because of shear grit and determination, however they have missed the type of player that can unlock the oppositions defences with a single piece of magic. I believe Leon can be that player for us!"

2007/08 SEASON UPDATE

SOLID START FOR BLADES
Sheffield Utd looked to have bounced back from last season's disappointment by winning their first 2 matches of the new campaign.

Hulse grabs the winner against Rangers

Week 1

Sheffield Utd 2 Osman 15', Hulse 88'
Rangers 1 Prso 43'

Leon Osman got his Utd career off to a flying start with a superbly executed freekick which flew into the top corner of the Rangers goal from 23 yards out. Dado Prso equalised with a great header and the game seemed to be heading for a draw until the ever reliable Hulse pounced with only minutes left on the clock!

Week 2

Sheffield Utd 1 Hulse 34'
Reading 0

Once again marksman Hulse was the toast of Sheffield after his strike ensured Mr Mnj's outfit maintained their 100% start to the season. Reading provided great resiliance throughout however the Blades thoroughly deserved the 3 points.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

If you’re knocked out of the cup, is it possible to still qualify for the uefa cup, (since Bayern are going to qualify for Europe anyways).

2007/08 UPDATE

SUPER WEBBER KEEPS UTD AT THE TOP

Webber celebrates his opener against The Toffees

Dangerous raider Danny Webber has come into some great form for the Blades and his 4 goals in 2 games (1 and a 1/4 games actually) have maintained Utd's promotion charge.

Week 3
Watford 0
Sheffield Utd 4 Shelton 23', Kazim-Richards 35', Webber 87', 90'

The Blades put in their best performance so far this season to hammer lowly Watford at Vicarage Road. Young forward Luton Shelton came in for Rob Hulse for his first start of the season and rewarded his manager with the opening goal. Kazim-Richards whos place in the starting XI is under threat this term since the arrival of Osman also capped a great performance with a goal. However it was substitute Webber who stole the show with a late double!

Lineup
Kenny(GK) - Geary(RB), Morgan(CB), Kilgallon(LB), - Stewart(LM), Jagielka(DM), Thompson(CM), Thomas(RM), Kazim-Richards(AM) - King(CF), Shelton (CF)
Subs - Webber, Hulse, Osman

Week 4

Sheffield Utd 2 Webber 25', 84'
Everton 2 McFadden 39', Cahill 66'

This top of the table clash proved to be the mose enthralling of the season to date. Danny Webber, called into the side following his brace against Watford put Utd ahead with a superb header. Mr Mnj opted for pace up front against the ageing Everton backline and Webber's combination with Luton Shelton caused the visitors many problems in the first 30 mins. After that, Everton gradually came into the game and deservedly equalised when James McFadden scored a 'goal of the season' contender when he coolly chipped Kenny following a mazy run. Tim Cahill gave the Merseysiders the lead in the 2nd half and they looked set for all 3 points until Webber pounced in the dying moments.

Lineup
Kenny(GK) - Geary(RB), Morgan(CB), Kilgallon(LB), - Kazim-Richards(LM), Jagielka(DM), Tonge(CM), Thomas(RM), Osman(AM) - Webber(CF), Shelton (CF)
Subs - King, Hulse, Thompson

After 4 games Utd are still top of the league, but after dropping 2 precious home points several of their promotion rivals are ready to take advantage of any future slip ups. We're in for an exciting season!

Morientes celebrates his brace

Week 12 - Copa del Rey R1 2nd Leg
Real Mallorca 0
Real Zaragoza 1 Aimar 90'+
(agg 1-2)

Mallorca were all set to progress to next round of the Copa del Rey on the away goal ruling. However a strike by Pablo Aimar deep into stoppage time, smashed the islanders' hopes.

Week 13
Real Mallorca 1 Maxi Lopez 11'
Barcelona 2 Saviola 69' 74'

Mallorca finally lost at home for the first time in the league this season. Unsurprisingly it came at the hands of Catalan giants Barcelona. Mallorca did however take an early lead on eleven minutes through Argentine hitman Maxi Lopez. The visitors then turned up the heat in the second half as they stared their first defeat in the face. A superb brace from Javier Saviola tipped the scales back in Barca's favour and subjected Mallorca to a consecutive miserable defeat.

Week 14
Real Mallorca 0
Villarreal 0

Week 15
Valencia 4 Vicente 25' 86' Morientes 41' 82'
Real Mallorca 0

Valencia provided a masterclass in football as they swept aside Mallorca at the Mestalla. Both Vicente and Morientes claimed a brace each, as they attempt to keep up with runaway leaders Barcelona.

TRANSFER TALK

Mallorca's manager, Professor Nutmeg has said he is happy with his current squad and has ruled out making any moves in the January transfer window. "We've been fortunate with injuries, in that we don't have any at the moment. I believe the current squad is versatile enough to cope with the second half of the season, therefore we won't be looking to sign any new players in this transfer window."

Real Mallorca are currently placed 6th in La Liga.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Just a question, if all my players are on "early/lasting" in terms of developing, how long does it take for players shot accuracy to increase roughly? i.e. martins is 76, i would like to increase it.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

If you want to increase a specific skill, you can set it in training during the off season. For example, if you want your winger to increase his dribbling stats - set dribbling.

An "early" player shouldn't take long for his stats to increase, depending on minutes played and how well he plays. I tend not to dwell on stat increases personally. I will notice them every now and then on the formation screen, but that's about it.

Here's a Q. Am i the only person who wants an option to turn off the visibility of the form arrows? I like to pick players based on how well they perform for me and not be swung by a red arrow over a regular player's green arrow. I am being faithful though and sticking to regulars, even if a sub has an orange or red. I do check fatigue, but unfortunately that view also shows the form arrows (otherwise i'd not look at it).

Totally agree. I don't take any notice of them, if a player is playing well I keep him in the team, simple as that. The form arrows are so random that if you took any notice of them your team would have about 6 changes per game. Also how often do you see a plyer who's just scored a hatrick have a red arrow for the following game - hardly never!

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Fatigue is usefull indeed, viewing form should be an option.
Furthermore Konami is very inconsistent regarding form of both your own players and opponent teams.

Own players: a player plays a hekk of a match and the next week he can have a bleu arrow pointing down. Or even worse: a plyer makes a crucial mistake and has a red arrow pointing up the next week. It should be fun if there was any consistency in the form arrows and then i wouldn't mind them. For example your CB makes a dreadfull mistake, subsequently has a low arrow form but you choose to give him confidenceafter all, which (if all goes well) should increase his form, etc...

Opponent teams (and also your own teams): teams on a winning or losing streak should have great form or bad form...

Concerns at the Madjeski Stadium at the beginning of a season in top flight:

On several internet forums Reading fans have showed considerable concern regarding the chances of their freshky promoted team in the top flight a the beginning of a new season.
Manager gerd DK bought only one new player, Belgian utility player Benji De Ceualaer.
This while the club transferred Litle and Osano.

Reading was strongly after Moroccan attacking player Mbark Boussoufa, but in the end Anderlecht refused a transfer.

Gerd DK's reaction: "I have considerable trust in the abilities of my current squad, they 've shown their talent last season winning the second division. De Ceulaer is a player who can play CF, winger or side midfielder, and while he is far from a star he will bring added value to the squad. At the mid-season interval we will make an evaluation and if needed will buy additional players. Until then this new season isone big adventure...Reading in Wonderland."

The fans are less confident...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I'm really annoyed that, as I'm approaching the end of my first season at Watford, I have had NO injuries what-so-ever. I haven't even witnessed opposing players being stretchered off. I know there are a few option files now that have taken on board some of delpiero's recommendations with regards to global stat changes on the fitness and injury liability settings, and I've heard that it seems to work well.

Week 5
Sheffield Utd 2 Webber 24', Hulse 72'

Utd put on a poor display as they seemed to underestimate their Dutch opponents and by then end of the 90mins they were lucky to come away with a share of the spoils.

Utd travelled to the JJB still on top of the table, however they were looking for their first win in 3 matches. However after 21mins, the Blades would have been just happy to keep the score down after McCulloch & Heskey fired Wigan into a commanding lead. The Blades found themseleves trying to reach the break with something for master tactician MrMnj to work on. Mnj brought on in-form Danny Webber on the hour and the marksman turned on the magic to keep Utd's unbeaten run in tack! The equalising goal was met with mayhem on the Utd bench as Mnj dived to his knees in delight!

Lineup
Kenny(GK) - Geary(RB), Morgan(CB), Kilgallon(LB), - Stewart(LM), Jagielka(DM), Tonge(CM), Thomas(RM), Kazim-Richards(AM) - King(CF), Hulse (CF)

The result could have been totally different as the French outfit hit Utd's crossbar on 3 occasions during a one-sided first period. But once again Mr Mnj's half-time team talk seemed to do the trick as the Yorkshire men put in a superb 2nd half performance to take all 3 points.

Lineup

Mallorca

Kome: frustrated

Daniel Kome has spoken of his desire to leave Real Mallorca as he searches for first team football. Kome joined Mallorca in the summer of 2004 after an impressive spell at Numancia, but has struggled to establish himself with The Islanders and has had loan spells at Getafe and Cuidad de Murcia over the past couple of seasons. His situation hasn't improved under current manager Professor Nutmeg and the Cameroon international is keen to seal a move away from the ONO Estadi.
It's thought La Segunda high-flyers Real Valladolid are monitoring the midfielder's situation, as well as a couple of other Spainish clubs.
