Sounds like interesting times are in store for Nantes Re-arranged :)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

For the past couple of weeks I've been playing exhibition & cup games with Wigan whilst I've been waiting for an option file with the jan transfers. The problem is, I've become too good with them. So I've decided to take the reigns at Sheffield Utd instead.

I'm palying in A British Premiership, with Celtic & Rangers going straight into Div 1. I'm in Div 2 along with W Ham, Wigan, Reading, Watford, Charlton, and 2 of the games worst teams (to make sure it's always a British Div 1) Sportclub Excelsior (Hol) and Valenciennes (Fra)

Faces of concern on the Blades bench

4 week round up
Mr Mnj's reign in charge of the Yorkshire club got off to a flying start, but since the opening game the widely travelled welsh manager has realised what an up hill struggle his club faces to reach the dizzy heights of the British Premiership. With the help of backroom staff Neil Warnock & Stuart McCall, the experienced manager has put his mark on the side by instantly adopting his trademark 3-4-1-2 formation.

Week 1

Sheffield Utd 6 Nade 45', Webber 64', 67', 89', Shelton 73', 77'
Sportclub Excelsior 1 Davis OG 32

This game changed dramatically with a double substitution on the hour with Danny Webber and Luton Shelton replacing the unimpressive Rob Hulse and Jon Stead. The deadly duo turned the game on it's head combining superbly to share 5 goals.

Lineup
Kenny(GK) - Geary(RB), Kilgallon(CB), Davis(LB), - Gillespie(LM), Jagielka(DM), Tonge(CM), Kazim-Richards(RM), Nade(AM)- Stead(SS), Hulse (CF)
Subs - Webber, Shelton, Alan Quinn

Week 2

Valenciennes 1 Savidan 13'
Sheffield Utd 1 Hulse 61'

The Blades went into this fixture full of confidence after week 1, however they were soon brough crashing down to earth by hitman Steve Savidan's thunderbolt. The battling Hulse savaged a well earned point for Utd following a superb turn and shot.

Lineup
Kenny(GK) - Geary(RB), Kilgallon(CB), Davis(LB), - Gillespie(LM), Jagielka(DM), Tonge(CM), Kazim-Richards(RM), Nade(AM)- Stead(SS), Hulse (CF)
Subs - Webber, Shelton, Alan Quinn

Week 3

Reading 0
Sheffield Utd 0

A disappointing spectacle, however the Blades kept up their unbeaten run!

Lineup
Kenny(GK) - Geary(RB), Kilgallon(CB), Davis(LB), - Gillespie(LM), Jagielka(DM), Tonge(CM), Kazim-Richards(RM), Nade(AM)- Shelton(SS), Webber (CF)
Subs - Hulse, Stead, Stephen Quinn

Week 4

Sheffield Utd 2 Tonge (pen) 43', Hulse 89', Kilgallon s/off 32'
West Ham 3 Zamora 2', 72', Tevez 84'

The Blades suffered their first defeat of the season as they were totally outclassed by their London rivals. The result may suggest a close encounter but the truth of the matter was the Hammers had far more firepower and quality that their Yorkshire hosts. The result is a major concern for Sheffield who haven't won since the opening day of the season.

Lineup
Kenny(GK) - Geary(RB), Kilgallon(CB), Davis(LB), - Gillespie(LM), Jagielka(DM), Tonge(CM), Kazim-Richards(RM), Nade(AM)- Webber(SS), Hulse (CF)
Subs - Shelton, Stead, Stephen Quinn

Standings
1 West Ham 10pts
2 Reading 10pts
3 Valenciennes 8pts
4 Charlton 8pts
5 Wigan 7pts
6 Sheffield Utd 5pts
7 Watford 3pts
8 Sportclub Excelsior 1pt

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Nice one mnj, enjoyed reading your post.

If you don't mind starting your ML again you could create two championship side with the help of this thread by Paul B. http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=45529

@Re-arranged, Unlucky with the results, for one minute there i thought you were quiting hahaha...never mind. Lets see what Mr. Desailly can do.

Mismanagement! Feyenoord fans vent their frustration after another poor result in the Rotterdam derby

Sparta Rotterdam 2
Medunjanin 60’

Feyenoord 0

This was an important match for me to win, because I was bottom of the table with 20 point and one point behind FC Nurnberg (who could possible extend the gap up between me and them). Feyenoord was 11th in the league...they were more or less safe from relegation.

I dominated most of the match with fast paced passing and countering attacking moves. Every time Feyenoord was attacking I would take the opportunity to steal the of them around the final third and get it to either Bouaouzan or Yildirim, and hope my forward, van Tornhout, is near the penalty area with Medunjanin and Vidarsson coming up to support. Only managed to score a goal in the second half with sweet strike by Medunjanin from around 20 meters out. The match was finished of late in the second half when van Bueren came to score a header nicely assisted by Bouaouzan.

Transfers In:

untitled1ii0.gif

Beto - Girondis Bordeaux [3.5 Mio €]
The 30 year old, versatile portugese central defender who can also operate infront of the defense,
comes to Le Mans from Girondis Bordeaux. However Beto spent the last 6 months on loan at spanish outfit Recreativo de Huelva,
where he started only 6 of 19 games.
He has been a long time target of Le Mans' portugese manager Paulo da Costa and is set to earn the starting spot in
Frédéric Hantz' defensive midfield right away as Mathieu Coutadeur has been playing out of position there and will be
getting more time on the right side of midfield.

Yuichi Komano - Sanfrecce Hiroshima [1 Mio €]
Japanese international full-back Yüichi Komano comes to Stade Omnisports Léon Bollée from J-League side Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
He joins his long-time friend Daisuke Matsui at Le Mans and will be fighting for a place in Hantz' first eleven with captain Laurent Bonnart,
Ibrahima Camara and Cyriaque Louvion.

Transfers Out:

Yannick Fischer - Glasgow Rangers [1 Mio €]
Experienced central defender Yannik Fisher leaves Le Mans for Glasgow in a deal worth around 1 Mio €. He didn't play a big Role in Paulo da Costa's
Plans for the future so the offer the Rangers made couldn't be refused.

Paulo André - Werder Bremen [4.5 Mio €]
Promising brazilian half-back Paulo André had already been scouted by Bremen manager Klaus Allofs when still at Atletico Paranaense.
He made 3 appearences for the Pays de la Loire side until mid-season but, although looking solid didn't quite live up to

Forest Top At Halfway Stage

After drawing their first 2 games Nottingham Forest clicked into gear winning the next 5 games helping them to the top of the British championship.

The major story of the season so far has been the strike partnership of Jason Oost and Marlon Harewood who have contributed 10 goals in all competitions between them. They are also joint top of the assists chart at the halfway stage.

clough_nigel.jpg

Clough: we can go unbeaten

" The form of those 2 has been no suprise to me what so ever. I saw it in pre season, I've seen it in training and thankfully i've seen it where it matters most" said manager Nigel Clough. " I have to give credit to the whole team. In the middle of the park Jagielka and Stein have been phenomenal, the whole back 4 has been rock solid letting in only 3 goals. We are in the semi finals of the cup and are unbeaten in the league. Call me crazy but i believe that this team can go the whole season unbeaten and win the cup"

A bold statement by the manager.Could it actually happen, only time will tell.

Nottingham Forest 17
Celtic 12
Hearts 11
Rangers 10
Sheffield United 10

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

To stringer bell: that must have been a sweet win, under the threatening circumstances and considering it was against Feyenoord.

PES King: great run...Jagielka is really good isn't he???

Alexcarreira: Le Mans is an intresting team, if i would play a French ML, i would play with Le Mans or Lorient. What are Le Mans' best players (Matsui???)???

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

@ gerd:

romaric, matsui, bangoura, grafite and samassa are all class. cotadeur also is a nice player, but sadly doen't really fit into my 4-4-2 diamond system. camara is a solid fullback and basa also is a quite useable central defender. pele, the goalkeeper has a lot of potential and is already quite reliable...

Coleman Sacked!!

Chris Coleman has been let go by the Fulham board after 3 years of service.

In a club statement Mohamed Al-Fayed Said: "Chris and the club have agreed that its time for a fresh start. The Club wish Chris all the best in the future and are looking forward to the new era at Fulham.”

Coleman Struggled to get used to the new master league format that has the top teams from 3 leagues join together to create a super league for that region. The northwest league joins the English, Scottish and Dutch leagues and with the club finishing second from bottom for 2 seasons running Coleman was fighting a losing battle with the board and fans.

The new manager will be named Shortly with Bookies putting George Cellini 3/1 Favourite.

Cellini has slowly been making waves in Italy as an up and coming coach and has been quoted as saying he is ‘Itching to return to England’.

Having enjoyed stints at Fulham And Spurs as a player, the fan favourite is more than likely keen to get his first major opportunity at The Cottagers.

More News to follow…

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

@Stringer: Nice to see you defeating rival Feyenoord. I hope that Le Mans will be promoted next year so i can have some good 'Pas de la Loire' derby. :)

@Alex, i'd call Pele #1 star of the team at the moment. Matsui is very interesting player too, but imo he lacks mentality and teamwork to be called a true #1. Bangoura looks good this season too.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Cellini Named Coach

Fulham announced in a press conference this morning that Italian workhorse George Cellini Will become First Team coach at the Club.

Mohamed Al-Fayed Said at the conference: “We are very pleased to welcome George Back to Fulham. He is a strong character and a leader who has won respect and praise around the world. I believe he has all the right abilities to help build a successful team and glorious future.”

Cellini Was also pleased of his new role: “I jumped at the chance to return to Fulham. I see this place as my spiritual home and hope to bring much successes to the fans”

Cellini has had a wonderful career as a player. Born in 1968 in Rome and was a keen footballer at a very early age. At 16 he signed Professional forms for A.S Roma in 1984. he went on to win 3 Coppa Italia’s and appeared in A champions league and UEFA Cup final though on the losing side. In 1997 he signed for Spurs for £2,000,000 after a massive Bust up with Coach Zdeněk Zeman. He found it difficult to settle at the north London club and after again falling out with then Coach George Graham it looked as if he was doomed to fail in England.

But to everyone’s surprise Fulham came in with a shock bid for the Fiery Italian. More surprising still Cellini signed for the west London Club and so his Love affair with the West Londoners Begun. Under Kevin Keegan he became a fan favourite early on with his Gutsy and Stylish Displays. In his final season he helped the team to Promotion to the Premiership but Manager Jean Tigana Disided he was to be let go on a free.

Cellini had also bought an Italian Restaurant in The Capital and always remarked Fulham as his Second home so a return was never in question to him. “I want to give this Place a team that they are proud to support, one in which can compete with the Chelsea’s and United’s of this world.”

Cellini has been coaching for 5 years now and has helped Italian side Cagliari To Seria A and has won Young coach of the year along with it. Its expected that a Sporting Director will be Employed along with Cellini to finish the “winning Formular”, but as of yet there has been no clues to their identity.

Expect some Interesting Times at Craven Cottage

Two games, two wins - fantastic debut for Desailly.

Ajax 2-3 FC Nantes-Atlantique
3' Diallo | Oliech
39' Huntelaar | Perez
41' Oliech | Da Rocha
73' Sneijder | Huntelaar
78' Ca | Payet

Starting line-up: Stojkovic - Cetto, Guillon, Savinaud, Signorino - Saidou, Dimitrijevic, Payet, Da Rocha - Oliech, Diallo
Subs: Dimitrijevic > Ca; Payet > Capoue
Nantes MOTM:
Diallo out for two weeks

FC Nantes-Atlantique 3-0 Olympique Marseille
24' Dimitrijevic
60' Rossi
81' Rossi | Keseru

Starting line-up: Stojkovic - Cetto, Guillon, Savinaud, Signorino - Fae, Dimitrijevic, Payet, Wilhelmsson - Rossi, Keseru
Subs: Dimitrijevic > Saidou
Nantes MOTM: Rossi

Seems like Ross' decision to change the team coach was right at least it brought a good team performance and result in the very first game against Ajax on their home stadium.

But the real test for Desailly, Ross and their team was still ahead. Six-pointer at La Beaujoire versus Olympique Marseille. And i must admit it's been the best Nantes' game of the season so far. Seemed like the team has finally found their game. Especdially Rossi, who's being critisised so much this days for his mediocre performances. He's scored a double and helped Dimitrijevic to score the first goal.

After the game both president Ms. Ross and coach Ms. Desailly looked very happy.
"Fantastic game for us today. All the boys worked well for the team. Separately i wanna mark out Dimitri Payet and Julio Rossi for their outstanding performance." - Marcel Desailly said.

The next day Ms. Ross held a press-conference where the two new team staff members were introduced to the journalists alike. Ex-Nantes players Christian Karembeu and Patrice Loko. Karembeu will take the main post in the scouting department and Loko as sportive director. Ms. Ross also mentioned that he's reached the prior agreement with another ex-Nantes player and part of the famous 'Trio Magique'(Loko, Pedros and Ouédec) Reynald Pedros. By this agreement Ms. Pedros at the end of this season, who's announced that this season is the last for him as a player, will be appointed as a Youth team coach.

League standings after 10 games:
10. Lille OSC | 13 -3
11. Toulouse FC | 12 -1
12. FC Sochaux | 10 -5
13. AS Nancy | 9 -6
14. FC Nantes | 9 -7
15. ASSE | 8 -5
16. OM | 5 -13

what really surprises are 15-th and 16-th place of St-Etienne and Marseille respectively and 10-th of Lille.

5 top goal scorers:
1. Cousin 6 (Lens)
2. J. de Jong 6 (PSV)
3. Juninho 5 (Lyon)
4. Fred 5 (Lyon)
5. Huntelaar 5 (Ajax)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Some very enjoyable reading in this thread from both guys old and new:)

Just out of interest do any of you include Boca, River and Sao Paolo in one your your ML divisions or do you feel including these South American teams would make your ML unrealistic?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Don't know if you're looking for a reply from someone who's not previously contributed in the thread Jeff, but no, I have never included Boca, River and Sao Paolo in an ML (not in six years of playing the game) - although a few times I've edited their team names to Birmingham, Rotherham and Southampton (just quick examples) and put them in Division B.

I've always strived for realism; it's a shame you can't have a 20-team Division A and a Division B excluding teams from all around Europe...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I Wish I was Brazilian

Fulham Coach George Cellini is keen to point out he is no normal Italian Coach. Cellini Famously retired from International Football after he was not included in the Euro 96 Team after criticising Italian Coach Arrigo Sacchi’s Defensive Tactics. “I am a great believer in Winning games with style and with attacking play, The Italian Motto is to not concede and you can not lose but I prefer the Brazilians as they believe they will always score one more than there opponents. You can not win without scoring and many people in my country are very talented but they are taught to score one goal and defend, for me this is not how I do things.”

With a new season about to begin Cellini is not kidding himself to soon “I know this year will be tough, I am not going to lie and I will not gain respect in doing so. We have as good a chance as any team in this Division but it’s so tight that any 2 of 5 or 6 teams could win promotion”

Fulham are joined by Everton, Heereven, Hibernian, Man City, NAC Breda, Roda J.C. & FC Twente.

The Season so far - Part 1

vicarage3.jpg

Matchday 1

Manchester United 2-0 Watford

Ronaldo, 55
Scholes, 76

Two second half goals from Christiano Ronaldo and Paul Scholes were enough to sink a brave and adventurous Watford side at Old Trafford. An impressive first half performance from the Hornets, saw the Hertfordshire side limit the home team to a few half chances, whilst creating several of their own. United however dominated in the second 45, and deserved to take all three points, despite a late surge from Watford in the final minutes.

MOTM- Chris Eagles (MU)

Matchday 2

Watford 1-0 Aston Villa

King, 7

MOTM- D.Francis (WF)

A powerful header from Jamaican international, Marlon King, gave Watford all three points, in Eyres first home game of the new season. In a scrappy and highly competitive match, Watford pinched a well worked goal, and were rarely troubled at the other end of the pitch.

“I’m delighted with the win, and of course 3 points at such an early stage in the season will hopefully provide a platform of confidence for which to build on”

Matchday 3

West Ham 1-2 Watford

Stewart, 62
Sheringham, 80
King, 88

MOTM- M.Stewart (WF)

Watford’s encouraging start to the season under Peter Eyres, continued midweek, as a Late King goal handed Watford the spoils in the London derby. Stewarts marauding run down the left flank, caught the Hammers by surprise, as he was allowed to waltz through and gently the lift the ball into the far corner over the on-rushing Roy Carrol. Super-Sub Teddy Sheringham gave the Hammers hope, by making no mistake after being cleverly set free by Tevez on the edge of the box. But late on, substitute Powell flashed a ball across the six yard box, for the ever aware Marlon King, to glance home with just three minutes remaining.

Matchday 4

Watford 0-1 Manchester City

Sinclair, 70

MOTM- Didi Hamann (MC)

A single, scrappy goal from former England international Trevor Sinclair, bumped Watford back down to earth.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

The Season so far - Part 2

Matchday 5

Liverpool 1-0 Watford.

Bellamy, 35

70826.jpg

MOTM- Steven Gerrard (LP)

In the midweek fixture list, Eyres' Watford team travelled to his boyhood team to play Liverpool at Anfield.

Most pundits expected Liverpool to comfortably win after Watford's dismal performance at home to City, but in the end the scoreline suggested otherwise.

John Arne Riise’s through ball from the left channel allowed Craig Bellamy to slot past Ben Foster, with some help from a Malkay Mackay slip on the edge of the box. Watford had two guilt edged chances in the final minutes to come away with a shock result, but neither Francis nor substitute Cavali possessed the composure to put away their respective chances.

Matchday 6

Watford 2-1 Blackburn

Mcnamee, 12
Roberts, 49
Smith (p.k), 85

MOTM- D.Francis (WF)

Watford moved up into 7th on Saturday after snatching all three points against 10-man Blackburn. Watford took a shock early lead, very much against the run-of-play. Stewart’s cross from the left wasn’t dealt with by Andre Oijer, leaving Jason Mcnamee sweetly to volley home whilst free in the box. Just four minutes after half time, and Blackburn were level. Gamst Pederson found Roberts on the edge of the box, who swiftly turned and fired a rasping shot into the far corner. Brett Emerton missed a good chance to put the game to bed, whilst almost immediately at the other end, Tommy Smith was brought down whilst through on goal. Andre Ooijer was promptly dismissed, but the resulting penalty was expertly tipped round the post by American Brad Friedel. However, Smith was once again presented with a P.K after neatly turning on the edge of the box. He made no mistake this time round, by sending Friedel the wrong way.

Matchday 7

Watford 0-2 Fulham

Montella, 43
Mcbride, 87

img225455.jpg

MOTM- Clint Dempsey (FL)

Two goals, late in each half, gave Fulham bragging rights in the local derby. Vincezo Montella expertly controlled a lofted high ball, to turn and fire low against the post, past Ben Foster. Watford had few opportunities to get back into the match, and Fulham eventually killed the game off. A Mark Pembridge snapshop from the edge of the box was fumbled by the below par Ben Foster, and Brian Mcbride was on hand to slot home the rebound.

Matchday 8

Bolton 0-3 Watford

Kabba, 3
Kabba, 37
O’Brien o.g, 70

MOTM- Kabba (WF)

Steve Kabba stared on his full debut, as Watford made up for their disappointing home defeat to Fulham. Watford made several changes for the match, which included switching the formation to a 4-3-3. Henderson and Kabba joined King to lead the frontline, and the change immediately paid dividends.

A mazy run by Kabba resulted in the debutant squeezing the ball in at the far post from a tight angle. The second was a well worked goal. Stewart knocked the ball down on the edge of the box, to Smith who turned and cut the ball low across the six yard box for Kabba to score his second goal of the game.

Late in the second half, and Watford killed the game off. A goal bound Henerson shot was pushed away by Ian Walker only for Joey O'Brien to inadvertently knocked the ball over the goal line.

I never use them. I see those South American teams as a pool of talent, which will eventually arrive in Europe. eg Higuain, Gago, Grafite, Fred and other players who have made the leap in the past.

I would only use them if i fancied doing a sort of 'World Club Championship ML.' In which case, i'd probably also create a J League team or two, an African and a Middle Eastern team.

Unbeaten Run Comes To An End

69293.jpg

Sionko's single goal ends run

Nottingham Forests Incredable unbeaten run came to a grinding halt at Ibrox as Rangers won with a single goal from Czech midfielder Libor Sonko. The match was not without controversy however as Jean-Pierre Valeny was sent off in the 9th minute for the away side for a professional foul.

Forest manager Nigel Clough protested the decision rather aggressively and was sent to the stands for the rest of the match. Replays showed that although Valeny won the ball, he did slide from behind.

" That was one of the worst decisions i have ever seen in my professional career" said Clough. " That B******d in black has cost us not only the match, but the chance to go the remaining 4 games unbeaten. The least he can do is admit he was wrong".

Rangers manager Walter Smith sympathised with Clough." i understand how he feels but when he calms down he will see it was a definant red card"

The Football league however have not sympathised with Clough and have handed him a 4 game touchline ban and a hefty fine. Assistant manager PES King will take charge of those games starting with the midweek semi final, second leg cup clash with Everton.

This aside, Forest are still top of the league by 4 points and are virtually through to the final at Wembley so things are still looking up at the City Ground.

Some very enjoyable reading in this thread from both guys old and new:)

Just out of interest do any of you include Boca, River and Sao Paolo in one your your ML divisions or do you feel including these South American teams would make your ML unrealistic?

Yeah i feel this makes ML unrealistic, the main reason beeing the ML has an almost exact replica of the champions league trophy and tournament so playing them in it would ruin it abit for me. Im sure some people use them though. By the way JeffT are you planning on bringing out a january tranfer updated option file, i still use your old one and im playing my current ML season on it. Sorry to ask if your not :)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I also use Boca and River as pools of talent just like the Prof...
Strange that suddenly lots of people in this thread are playing with English clubs...Forest, Watford, Fulham, Sheffield Utd and Reading.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Reading crowned champions after a freak season:

Party at the Madjeski Stadium after Reading were unexpectedly croned chamions of the north-western division 2.
After their hard fought 2-1 win against Wigan Athletic Reading were sure about promotion.
Before the last match of the season Reading were second on equal points with leaders West Ham United (who led the division from day 1).
Their last match of the season was against Sheffield United, but with promotion already earned and a division 2 Cup final against Charlton Athletic lying ahead, Readings manager Gerd DK started the match with an unusual team with three players playing their maiden match. It turned out wonderfull for Reading in a fantastic second half.
Little scored the first in the 47 minute.
Sheffield desperately chased the equaliser, but a Seol header rebounde of the post, against Sheffield's GK's knee, once again off the post and the in the goal...Reading's 8th goal that was scored by an opponent...
In extra-time Kitson scored the champions goal without being aware of it....

Reading - Sheffield Utd 3-0
Little
own-goal
Kitson

The ranking at the end of the season:

1 Reading 30 points 18 goals scored 8 goals scored against them
2 West Ham United 30 points 18 goals scored 8 goals scored against them
3 Charlton Athletic 22 points
4 Rosenborg
5 Watford
6 FC Kobenhavn
7 Wigan Athletic
8 Sheffield United

I think Reading were crowned champions because they didn't lose a single match and West Ham United lost two (strange, here in Belgium the team with most wins is crowned champion wit equal points...). Anyway West Ham United is rather unlucky considering the fact that Readings' opponents must have scored 8 goals for them...i really loved this season but next year will be very, very tough for Reading.

Honours:

Top Scorer: Darren Bent (Charlton)
Top Assister: Lee Bowyer (West Ham United)
Best player: Carlos Tevez

Hi Proff,

Looks like Arango's left leg is in severe danger of a mashing from Moises!

So much for parting the Red Sea, he'll be parting the Venezuelan's calf from his ankle :)

Charlton Athletic win great division two final:

Reading - Charlton Athletic 2-2 (prolongations : 3-3, penalties 5-3)

4' Darren Bent
35th El karkouri sent off
68' Seol
72': Holland
89': Seol (pk)

96': Darren Bent
115': Harper

Once again a loss in a penalty kick off, i always loose in penalty kick-offs.
Considering they palyed with 10 (after a red card that wasn't deserved) Charlton deserved the win.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Fulham 1 (1) v (1) 2 NAC Breda

Sikora 3
Hylens 14
Slot 52

Cellini’s First game incharge ended with defeat as Dutch side NAC Breda Crused to victory.

Cellini played a 4-4-2 for his first match naming an Experienced Back four with French Centre Back Valery Given the Captains Armband. All the action happened inside the first 15 minutes as both teams went for the first goal. Arne Slot Was by far the best player on the pitch with his man of the match performance and it was his early cross from a poor clearence from Xemines that set up the opener. Sikora rose unchallenged in the Fulham box to power a low header into the bottom corner. Fulham then sent an onslaught at Breda’s goal and Came close to an equaliser 7 mins later when Minanda hit the post from 20 yards. A Goal did eventually come though from some Costello Magic. The Brazilian picked up the ball 40yards from goal and with one touch took his marker out the game the raced towards goal. With an on rushing keeper, 2 centre backs and the whole stadium expecting Castello to shoot the cheeky chap cut the ball back across the box to an unmarked Edger Hylens who calmly slot the ball into the back of the net. If the Fulham faithful though that this was the beginning of a demolition act then they were to be left disappointed. Fulham had plenty of the ball with over 60% of possession throughout the game but lacked any Cutting Edge in the final third. A Breda Second was on the card all game and with only 7 mins of the second half Slot brushed past the Fulham defence and Lifted the ball over Inarov to give His Team a Deserved lead. Fulham could not find an answer to the questions given to them and in the end will need to work on there creativity if they are to see any chance of promotion this season.

Fulham Boss Cellini:

“We started bad but picked it up for the rest of the game. I think we controlled the game until they scored the second.

We need to work on or movement as at times we seemed very easy to read but it will get better I promise

Castello has the ability to do that, so does Stuart (Macco) but he was not allowed room to breathe so was not as affective today.”

NAC Breda Boss Ernie Brandts:

“It was a good game for us. Fulham have a new manager and new belief so we needed to score early to break their confidence.

They had a lot of the ball but apart from there 2 chances they didn’t trouble us.

We deserved 3 points and I am happy to get them”

I never use the South American teams either. I try to keep at realistic as possible!

BRAMALL LANE UPDATE

After a disappointing first half to the season Sheffield Utd lay 6th in the British Premiership Div 2. Manager Mr Mnj realised that if his team were to achieve their dream of Div 1 status, he would need to act swiftly in the January transfer window. With limited resources, he quickly realised that 'swap' deals were his only option.

JAN TRANSFERS IN
2685677373

Marlon King - WATFORD (£0.5M & John Stead)
Mr Mnj needed extra firepower up front and felt that the Jamacan hitman was the ideal marksman to fire the Blades up the table.

3489350036

Jerome Thomas - CHARLTON (£1.5M & James Ashmore)
Mnj felt that the quality of Thomas could provide the service that King & Hulse would thrive on!

1615321256

Jordan Stewart - WATFORD (£0.25M & Stephen Quinn)
Mr Mnj didn't want to let Quinn go, but as it was a last minute swoop, Watford were only prepared to do an exchange deal as they wouldn't have had time to replace their promising wide man. Mnj feels Stewart will fill the gap on the left hand side perfectly!

JAN TRANSFERS OUT
Craig Short - Atletico Madrid (£3.6m)
Mnj was delighted to receive such a substantial offer for the experienced stopper who can't wait for life in sunny Spain!

Mamadou Seck - Club Brugge (£2.9m)
The sale of the back up defender will provide much needed finances for the summer.

Week 8
Charlton 0
Sheffield Utd 2 King 61', Webber 86'

A superb debut for King, whose MOTM performace was rewarded with a superb individual goal. Danny Webber made the 3 points safe with a spectacular overhead effort in the dying minutes.

Lineup
Kenny(GK) - Geary(RB), Morgan(CB), Kilgallon(LB), - Stewart(LM), Jagielka(DM), Tonge(CM), Thomas(RM), Kazim-Richards(AM) - King(CF), Hulse (CF)
Subs - Webber, Shelton, Gillespie

Week 9
Sheffield Utd 2 Jagielka 14', Hulse 26'
Watford 0

A solid performance by the Blades saw them climb the table and move only 4 points off promotion. MOTM King was unable to shoot down his former club, but provided two superb assists for the goals.

Lineup
Kenny(GK) - Geary(RB), Morgan(CB), Kilgallon(LB), - Stewart(LM), Jagielka(DM), Tonge(CM), Thomas(RM), Kazim-Richards(AM) - King(CF), Hulse (CF)
Subs - Webber, Shelton, Gillespie

Week 10
Valenciennes 0
Sheffield Utd 3 Kilgallon 3', Kazim-Richards 55', King 88'

An excellent performance saw the Blades leapfrog their french opponents into 3rd place, just 2 points off promotion!

Lineup
Kenny(GK) - Geary(RB), Morgan(CB), Kilgallon(LB), - Stewart(LM), Jagielka(DM), Tonge(CM), Thomas(RM), Kazim-Richards(AM) - King(CF), Hulse (CF)
Subs - Webber, Li Tie, Gillespie

Mr Mnj is obviously ecstatic by the instant impact his new signings have made "I knew they were decent players, but I didn't envisage them having such a positive influence on the team. They have changed our season around. I knew what King & Thomas were all about, but Jordan Stewart has been a revelation on the left hand side. Promotion is now a realistic possibility"

Standings
1 Charlton 20pts
2 Wigan 19pts
3 Sheffield Utd 18pts
4 Valenciennes 17pts
5 West Ham 17pts
