I'm tired about such VAR decisions!

As a Liverpool fan, we definitely never expected to be in this position at the start of the season.

Nobody would have thought that Slot would come in and have the impact he has after such an iconic figure like Klopp leaving. My genuine expectations at the start of the season were to qualify for the CL and possibly win a domestic cup.

We have definitely capitalised on Man City’s drop off and I just don’t think Arsenal have been 100% at it. Granted, they have had injuries, but even with a fully fit squad at the start of the season they were still dropping some stupid points.

Unfortunately, what you are seeing now is our transfer policy living out as it always does. Ask most Liverpool fans and they will tell you that we generally get to this part of the season and several players look absolutely shot. Slot has not rotated much and players like Gravenberch, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai have hardly had a rest. However, FSG (our owners), want to run a sustainable model and we probably don’t have the depth at times to rotate or freshen things up as we should do. There is an obvious drop off in quality when we do rotate more than 2-3 players.

FSG have done some really good things for the club, including a new training facility and redeveloping Anfield. The fans are really divided on their approach to transfers and we have definitely not strengthened as much as we should have done in the past.

We should have enough now to get over the line with a few games to spare, but I doubt we will be in this position again next season with the likes of Trent and possibly Van Dijk/Salah moving on too - Unless FSG really back Slot in the Summer.

For what it’s worth, it is great to see teams like Forest and Villa challenging for trophies/CL qualification. Even though it was at our expense, I was happy for Newcastle fans too when they won the League Cup.

A PL title will be a fantastic achievement for Slot though, not many managers come in to The Prem and win it as dominantly as he has in their first season.

When you inherit a world class (I begrudgingly say this) ready made team you should be challenging for the title however at the beginning of the season I thought you'd be top 4 but never thought you'd be top. Let's see how good Slot is as a manger when Salah and Van Dijk retire. I think Liverpool will decline once the two cornerstones of your team retire and they are now on the back end of their career so I think your future success will be solely based on if you can replace the irreplaceable.

Just watched the most boring uninspiring Manchester derby I've ever seen in my life. Both teams were as boring as each other. A stalemate of utter rubbish.

Same, mate. Probably the worst Manchester Derby in the history of football. The damage of these two teams had already done this season, with one on verge of missing out the Champions League the next season after such a catastrophic season due to the injuries on key players they got, while the other seems to fight against the relegation.
I hope Manchester will understand this disastrous season in football and restart to believe more in the Premier League (and maybe, the cup competitions and the European Football). After all, it's not an umbrella container.

You know the world is upside down and fucked when Harry get to win a trophy.
Cant say our (me and Harrys) cabinets are equally empty anymore.
Sad.

It's just like when you think "cursed things" in football like Spurs, Arsenal, and even the England national football team will win something.

Even more ridiculous, Spurs (Harry Kane's former club) can still win the Europa League this year despite being at their worst Premier League season (16th in table). Same goes to Manchester United. But I think Spurs really deserve more since they haven't won anything for 17 years.

But yeah, the world would be mad and humiliated to see craziest things like Harry Kane and Spurs winning something. Arsenal can still win the Champions League this year despite sometimes having ups and downs, especially against the teams that they should have won easily (they had even knocked holders Real Madrid out in this year's CL quarterfinals). Even England can win the next year's World Cup under the German coach.

Would be weird if Spurs win, feels like they're the most cursed team in England for sure, even Newcastle won a trophy this year.

We may have been unforgivably awful in the premier league but in the Europa League we have been a different team entirely. I may be bias but I think we'll run over Tottenham in the final, lift the trophy and sneak our way into the Champions League. Currently in the premier league: Man Utd (15th) Tottenham (16th). I find it pretty hilarious one of us will be playing in the champions league next season

After 7 years, welcome back in Bundesliga Hamburger SV
Really excited to see this legendary club from Germany (and maybe, Europe) returning back after seven years. They have been fighting for such a promotion when they were in the 2.Bundesliga during that period, but had always bottled up in the last minute. Famous one was during the 2022-23 season when they gave up an automatic promotion spot to Darmstadt and eventually lost to Stuttgart in the play-offs (who finished 2nd in the Bundesliga the next season after that, just behind the "Invincible" Bayer Leverkusen). Since the Bundesliga was started, and up until 2018, they had always been in the top-flight football during that period, even winning the European Cup in 1982-83. I believe Everton are really deserve this spot as they were one of the few English teams that never get relegated during the Premier League era (Everton played in the top-flight of English Football since 1954-55 season).

What's even more hilarious is that Manchester United had qualified for the Europa League this season by only winning the FA Cup in 2023-24. Their Premier League season was also horrific (8th in the table, 14 losses, -1 GD). Had Manchester City won the FA Cup instead, the Europa League spot went to Chelsea and the Conference League spot went to Newcastle United.

An Europa League winning team having their worst season in the domestic football isn't something new in football, at least for the recent times. Sevilla won this competition not long before when they only came 12th in the La Liga, and now they have been struggling a lot. Plus, the new format makes them literally impossible to win the Europa League again since there's no way a team could win the Europa League after getting relegated from the Champions League (and so did the Conference League winner being the Europa League teams, just like Olympiacos in 2023-24 season). Frankfurt were also winning the Europa League despite being 11th in the Bundesliga. Before both of this year's finalists, Inter Milan (who are playing in this year's Champions League Final) had won the UEFA Cup in 1993-94, and that season, they barely avoided relegation from Serie A by a point and finished 13th (Serie A still has 18 teams at that time). In the European Cup or the Champions League, Aston Villa won the competition back in 1981-82, when they only finished 11th in the top-flight football, as did Bayern Munich in 1974-75 season (they were 10th in the Bundesliga, despite still retaining legends like Gerd Muller and Franz Beckenbauer at that time). Also, let's not forget that the likes of Wigan Athletic and Birmingham City are playing in the Europa League once when they are playing in the 2nd tier of domestic football!
