The 'Become A Legend' Discussion Thread

Guys, major fookin issue....HELP.... downloaded the update this morning no problem but now on loading it gives me an error message and hangs on the loading screen (little stars running across the bottom left) Obviously I cant play the game at all at the moment. Have contacted Konami via phone but got answer machine message.... any ideas???????
 
Disaster averted guys, I had a corrupt game data file, all sorted! now to get on to winning the domestic and uropean cup. Come on Tyneside army!!!

Also, ive not noticed any special increase in stats from big european games. Just the extra points for actually playing the game.

You do get the red match points. But not very often and only for the really big matches, finals etc.

Update on my career. 5th season done with. Spent the first half of the seaon with Chelsea, 2nd half with Arsenal. Arsenal finished 1st in the league by 6 points...over Chelsea. We won the FA cup and runner up in Uefa cup...to Chelsea. Scored 21 goals and got 16 assists during the season. Had a great run towards the end of the year with Arsenal, playing RM.

6th season, still at Arsenal. Started off with a win and a draw...including a brace from me in the first match.

Question...has anyone seen their team sign new players??? Maybe I've just been unlucky but I haven't noticed my team signing any new players while I've been there.

Hey guys, great stories. Quick question... I'm thinking of starting a career tonight and I was wondering what the most popular level was? Are most of you on Top Player?
 
hey all, i player on top player btw its the only level to use as the a.i is soooooooooo much better.

6th season now stats are in some 70's mostly 80's and 4 90's stats
started off at hull, went to newcastle, got into england team at age 19, won world cup, come back from being top scorer for england and newcastle dont want me anymore!! so i goes to auxerre and my god their bad!! so i then switch to PSG, they arent for me either, get to the end of the season and i sign for le mans union, god there good, we are 19 unbeaten in all competition. netted 15 times in the league half way through the season, 6 in the cham lge, 3 in the cup. I started off as a right mid as well! so in all its goin pretty well for me!

*TIP* always go near post for corners, and crea`te a bit of space for yourself.

a couple of questions to other ppl:
1. my fk and swerve is 82 and i have never took a free kick near the box has anyone?
2. do you ever score a few, get a rating of 8 and get left out for the next match?
3. anyone noticed when the computers shots go in they sometimes go through the keeper as if he is a ghost?

1. my fk is around the high 70`s and one game i was the chosen as the set piece taker because the regular guy waas dropped, when he came on, he took over.
2. Yes, all the time, its annoying.
3. Never happened for me.

Also, how the hell are people getting stats as high as that, like i said with my guy, after a decent carrer i`m no where near that.
 
I use wide. My cousin uses the same but instead the cam trails his player instead of the ball.
 
Started a new career now that I had 5 seasons of experience.
First season (topplayer) I was signed by Atletico Madrid!! Made it in the League C dreamteam at the end of the season, in my 1st year with 11 goals and 3 assists in 31 matches (5 minute matches).

Trying to build up stamina and technique now so I'ts fun to play 10 minute matches in a season or 2.
 
I'm tempted to use the wide cameras but im determined to stick with the vertical one and play the game from my guys perspective.
 
Hi guys, I joined the forum primarly to see about OP's and various other stuff but after reading some of the stories in here. I felt almost obliged to post my own :D Absolutley loving the BAL mode so much so it's probably been the first football game i've enjoyed in years.

I created my little Right winger, McRonaldo of the future if you will. The 4 leagues i'm using are British(replaced Stoke and Hull with the Old firm), Spanish, Italian and A world mixed league.

Smile for the camera....



Ok then don't smile, it is only Babilyana(or whatever they're called). Done pretty well in the Scout game, 1 assist and 1 goal from my favoured position of RWF. That performace was enough to see me earn a move to Bayern Munich.

First training match couldn't have gone any better, Kinda funny turning out for a reserve team that fields the likes of Podolski, Lucio and Ze Roberto but hey I aint complaining, I managed to grab an assist in the game when Podolski shot was parried wide I was the only one who seemed to chase it and fluked a backheeler off the line straight into the oncoming Ze Roberto who rifled it home.

I managed to grab an assist in the 2nd training match which seen me called into the first team but I was played along side Luca Toni as a CF and really messed it up, Back to the reserve line up and again good performance outwide earns me a call to the first team but, guess what? Same again I get played as a CF and have a mare of a game.

That's pretty much where I am right now after 7 games, Yo-yoing between then reserve and first team training matches.

I must admit, Bayern Munich is without a doubt the best team I've seen offer a contract after the 'trial' game. Well done pal.
 
This mode really does fucking drive me nuts sometimes. Everytime i'm running my team is doing a counter attack and the attackers just do not run into space for me to play a through ball. They just run along with the defenders. How bloody dumb.
 
Hi guys, i've managed to get into my third season and although im not doing amazing im quite happy that ive secured a move to feyenoord who won the league. Only I came in earlier to find that my save data file was corrupt and therefore wouldnt work at all. The size has gone from 4 MB as it usually is to 40KB and i really dont understand why it's done this (im on the Xbox 360). I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this and whether its possible to retrieve my game? Im guessing its probably not but i thought it would be worth a try because i spend quite a lot of time playing and its really annoying and im too frustrated to start again at the moment! I really liked my player even though he wasnt amazing.

is there anyway a formation of a team can be changed after you have started the become a legend mode. I play for atletico madrid, but i want to change the formation. Is there anyway to do this.

Sadly I don't think so. Someone posted something earlier in the thread about changing formations but I don't know if that works. Something about using the edit mode I think.

I'm going to try and get a few hours BAL game time in today I think.
 
I am playing BAL mode , now I am 22 yaers old , It seems like growing stats has slowed down . Or is it just my imagination ? :-)
And I wann ask :
I have Weak Foot -4
Condition - 4
This stats I have since my first match, do they ever get better ? Or are they set after first match and they never get better ? Especially condition really pisses me off, 4 is not what I quite would like to see, I have problems with accumulated fatique and higher condition maybe could do better for me.

just finished my 5th season won...league...d1 cup....international cup with England...top goalscorer and assist leader in international cup....top league goalscorer with 24 i think...how do you put up pics.

im just happy i won the league after 5 yearrs of persistance. TOP PLAYER is too hard....but it makes you improve year on year tactically.

Oh yeah i won it with Bolton a team thats improving rapidly in my game...they have most of those newcomers like Kaiser and about 3 other midfeilders and Kruger and Gunther at the back...all whose stats are legendary at 22!! (like me) so we are just improving together....looking forward to our 1st year in Europe.

oh yeah miro fatigue is determined by mentality which doesn't improve either...high mentality less fatigue accumulation.

Alls i can say is am playin quite good playin for my own club everton not gona start chattin aload of shit about me career so thats alls ye need to know !!!!!!
 
The one thing I really hate in BAL is that when yer busy pressing the RT(raises hands up) button the ball comes in and I've still got my hands raised instead of going for the ball to head it.(But this is mostly due to playing in a poor team where you can't trust yer teammate to pick you out)

Anyone tried the "Hand of God" using this, hehehe...
It'll be brilliant if someone manages it.
 
Mansouri is very unhappy now in Toulouse.
He did quite well at training (with ratings of 6,5-7,5) and quickly became a bench player.
Only Toulouse's manager never used him. He came on 3 times fo less than 15minutes.
Two times when Toulouse were 3-0 up.
Once when they were 3-0 down...

In other words each and every time the match was decided...

After the last match he played (4-0 win, Mansouri having a foot in the last goal), i got a message in the BAL menu: "The manager is searching another team for Mansouri.".
After that it was down to training matches once again...and no matter how good Mansouri was (he had an 8 rating, the best he's had so far), he never came close to the bench...
He's waiting for the mid-season transfer to ply his trade elsewhere...a shame because Toulouse are doing good, they are currently 6th in Ligue 1...
 
lol Poor Mansouri.

My stamina is getting better and I'm running around like a crazy man these days. Arsenal started off slow this season drawing far too many. Chelsea and Man Utd went 10 points or more ahead of us early on. But as I thought the old Chelsea team are faultering now its two games a week and Arsenal are now only 6 points behind and beginning to find our form.

Well he was on the bench against Rennes for the cup.
He came in at half time and played a very good match in a contest that went to penalties.
Mansouri scored the decisive penalty and was Man of the Match...maybe his coach will like him now...

Have a good career going on at top player. Though I do have a few things that greatly annoy me. Like no matter how good I play, I always get taken off at 65-70th minute every single game even though I don't get tired ! I haven't gotten the red mark for over 2 years now and after every time I get subed Jon Champion says the classic ; "Wow, no suprise that he's coming off..." right before I find out that I was Man Of The Match ! Can't get 90 mins playing time no matter which club I go to.

And also I hate how my teammates never try any tough passes, only time they do pass is if they have no opposition on them and the team mate is close.

PS ; I love Messi, we get along great but I hope that Xavi dies.
 
Nice stats you got there :)

Would love to see someone career at age 26+!! Since I'm at my 3rd career now and just 19y old in my newest campaign. I quit the other two when I was 21 since my "legend" was very bad! But I'll continue with the current campaign as things are going pretty well!
