oh dear, 80 dollars = 80 quid by the universal UK exchange rate rip off :/
Why am i not buying that one bit? seriously i dont think in a million years that a PS3 game will cost £80, no ofence but that is just ridiculously stupid whoever came up with that. if i saw the news on 1up or ps3 official site, then i'll prolly believe and commit suiside because i could never afford it atm :D

Great graphics for GT HD but a complete 'Crackers' rip off if they think people will pay lots for all the add-ons to make it a 'complete' game! jesus what are they trying to do to us? that plus the extreme cost of the console....

Also the Japs are getting a price reduction and what do we get? Launch delayed until March... thanks Uncle Ken glad I stopped wanting to buy your stuff after the PSP...

The biggest news on Gran Turismo HD is that the game will be split into two portions, known as Gran Turismo HD Premium and Gran Turismo HD Classic. The significant differences between the two "sides" of the game are extensive, not just in quantity but in terms of visual quality. First let's talk numbers. Gran Turismo HD Premium will feature 30 cars and two tracks, all of which have been modeled from the ground at a level of visual fidelity that simply hasn't been approached in the game before. As Yamauchi told us, modeling cars for the HD Premium version of the game takes roughly six months for each one, and the models themselves are composed of tens of thousands of polygons (as opposed to merely the thousands that compose those found in GT HD Classic).

As you might expect, the Classic version of GT HD will feature the "quantity" side of the equation--more than 750 cars, 51 tracks, and thousands of downloadable items. All of the assets in the game will come from data supplied from previous GT games, all upgraded for high-definition presentation. Essentially GT HD Classic will be a compilation of previous Gran Turismo games presented in HD quality.

The day Socom 4 PS3 comes out, will be the day I'll be giving my Xbox 360 away for free. Hell I'll pay someone to take it and run.

Can't wait to GAME like it's 2001 all over again. :)

I heard Peter Moore again at X06 reiterate that PES was an exclusive in "EUROPE". Which means the PS3 will get the new winning eleven that was announced at the TGS in my opinion which may well be region free.

Yes for the end of 2006, normal the PES6 never ready for 2006 and after we know the PS3 out for March 2007 ;)

I see on a planning "Winning Eleven - Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (not 2007)" out on PS2 for Q2 2007

Is it really region free?

Sony have said the PS3 is region free, but in theory the XB360 is region free too, MS left it upto the softwares companies to decide whether to put region lockouts on the games. Some do, some dont, most of Ubisof's are region free, EA's are locked etc. I dont know if Sony have said to the software Co's to leave the games unlocked or will just leave it up to them to decide.

Sony said they will leave it up to the developers.

However all I care about are Konami and Capcom...

Are their games region free on the x360?

PS3 power-up pics and movie here!
Yes, it's true. It's not made out of wood, it's not behind bullet-proof glass at the Tokyo Game Show - it's a real live PS3 and we're really playing it. The two Sony reps that were kind enough to bring us the machine brought it in a bag, popped it out and placed it on our table. We connected it to our TV and we were away. Forget any dev-kit speculation and empty cases. PS3 is real and it works brilliantly.

Consider this a follow up to Friday's blog - where we posted a pic of the PS3 and a crowd of sweaty men fighting to have a go on it. Well, given that this post has proved insanely popular across the internet here are more pictures of men being excited around a real live working PS3.

Some more details of the brute in action:
1) It's quiet like a sleeping baby. A barely audible hum. With the TV on you simply can't hear it at all.
2) It's heavy like a planet. No, really. It's impossible to pick up with one hand.
3) It's shiny like a mirror. In fact, it's impossible to take a photograph of it without the flash spanging every picture into a starburst mess. And therefore it's massively prone to fingerprintage too, with the tiny amount of dust in the office magically attaching itself to its surface in seconds.
4) The PS3 joypad is very light and the tilt system is very responsive. We like.
5) The start up is amazingly fast. And game load times were faster than expected. In fact, PS3 does both at about the same speed of PSP. ie, Long load times due to the massive Blu-ray disc? Nope. Simply not an issue.
6) Andy's fingers kept sliding off the shoulder buttons. But that's because his fingers are slippery.

Things to note:
1) The speed the machine sucks the disc in. Wow!
2) The PS3 start up sound - it's like an orchestra tuning up. Cool.
3) The similarity between the PS3 interface and the PSP interface.
4) Watch out for the first recorded lifting of the PS3's flaps.
5) Listen out for the fact that Sony don't officially have a name for the 'PS' button in the middle yet.
6) And check out those flashing blue and green lights. Groovy.

7) £425 for a console with disco lights and 'Spiderman' font. Groovy.

Sony are really treating us this time!

Cool little vid, its nice to see a machine actually running. I don't like the interface that much, I appreciate the look they are aiming for - however I like my gaming systems to be a little more fun.

Sixaxis/Dual Shock 3 = 5000 yens (33€)
Adaptator Memory Card = 1500 yens (10€)
Remote Control Blu Ray = 3600 yens (24€)

good prices

Whohoo!! i'm loving the look of the dual shock 3, looks like they haven't still found d name for the middle (sorta like Xbox live) button on the controller, its a shame there wont be a rumble feature, i think a lot of people will miss that.
*EDIT* - @ El Diego - but with a wireless feature (off the box), trigger buttons (instead of the normal one's), tilt sentivity (motion sensing), and its lighter (at least thats what i heard .

Those are Japan prices, and so we will get bumped here in Europe. My guess maybe 40 Euros and £35 for the controller

Yeh same here.

I can understand they want the PSP and PS3 to be linked, but I expected much more. I also think the start up is very lame.

Microsofts 'blades' system is much more attractive.
