Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

just get some black circular mouse mats and cut em

they wont cost £12!!!

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Yea, like them pads - I might be the test dummy lads - 7 days and I've got neighbours all 4 sides of me!

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Saving money Lazy, that's a first

I would have to go to a shop to buy the Mouse mats and you lot would order this thing off play!!

Why am i here anyway i don't even have Rockband!!!!!!!!

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

The big question is do they just quieten the noise or can they cause problems with notes not registering as you're not hitting hard enough to get through the pads

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

After staying up late last night, the update didnt happen and even if it did come, I was too tired and the house was asleep.

Still, 6am this morning, everyone is up and by half 7 I'd played through the 17 new DLC songs!! :D

Due the nature of the album, some Pixies songs aren't ideally suited to Rockband, but hell, its worth it just for the classics!

And in a bit of a surprise, my favourite song of all of this weeks DLC - Troublemaker by Weezer! Short, sweet, punchy, good fun lyrics, fun guitar without being hard - means you can concentrate on having fun playing it, rather than nailing down a 300 note solo!

Good times - anyone else get any of this weeks DLC?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I might pick up troublemaker as it sounded like it would be a fun track to play.

Not sure about the album or other tracks - $18 is a bit much for something that I'm not a huge fan of and would only be buying for the 'lets have a look and see what this is like'

- I did have a laugh this morning when i checked out the USA store and saw the massive chunk of RB DLC and then i looked the what Guitar Hero had to offer.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I'll get the Weezer songs on Monday.

The Weezer songs are weird - I like them from the album (listen to it least once a day at the mo whilst working) and they 'seem' fun to sing along too - though truth be told, when working, I'm concentrating quite a bit, so the singing tends to end up as "la la laaaas" :D

But in RB, I found Dreaming and Greatest Man' annoying. I can take or leave Dreaming really, but I like Greatest Man alot, but in RB it just drags on and the vocals are a bit odd and repetative...

Hmmmm... maybe need more tries. Troublemaker though is fab :)

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I was suprised Pork & Beans wasn't on RB too, one of the best on the album (if not the best).

Plus it's great promotion for the single.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Must have been an issue releasing it? Unless they thought it just didnt fit Rockband very well - but great song anyway...

Heres a cool vid you might not of seen. A guy plays RB on a real drum kit. He is not a drummer (allegedly) and is just following the note chart.

Goes to show how close to real life RB is!

Eh?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

If he's not a drummer what the hell's he doing with a drum kit?

Do I have to do everything? :D

...First of all, I am not a drummer. I have never taken lessons, and I don't play in a band.

What I've done is set up Rock Band on my Xbox 360 in front of a friend's drum kit, and played along with the game, but using real drums...

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

You can tell he's not a real drummer because his rhythm is a bit off. Or maybe he is a real drummer but he's just shit.

Why on earth did they pick that Papa Roach track. Should have been Last Resort.

"CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES" :DD

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I'd normally say "rubbish DLC", but after last week, HMX have brought some grace in my eyes!

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Quite like those songs, definate buy for me :DD

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

I like the sound of the papa roach track - not really keen on the Mötley Crüe one.

-

I finally got around to playing on this again today - ive been too distracted with GRID, Civ and MGS4.

I had to restart the game after having the old PS3 go bust which was gutting and i finally finished the hard solo mode again today beating green grass and high tides with 92%. That song doesn't half go on and on and on but I love it. It's hard but not stupidly hard for the sake of being hard as most of GH over charted songs are towards the end of the tiers.

I played with first and only song live with other people tonight.

It was a metal song I'd never played before, I was playing the guitar and I chose hard difficulty. I score 83% while the 2 others guys (drum + bass) scored 100% on expert :SS...

Some people are crazyyyy ! :D

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

Harmonix has unveiled Rock Band 2 and announced plans to release it as a timed exclusive on Xbox 360 this September - with other platforms to follow "later in the year".

Perhaps the biggest feature will be cross-compatible downloadable songs, lead designer Dan Teasdale told IGN. And this works both ways; Xbox 360 fans can carry-over downloadable tracks from Rock Band 1, while PS3 fans awaiting release can play Rock Band 2 downloadable songs in the original game.

We're promised some "cool new features" that let you play your DLC in "different ways", too.

The existing peripherals will work with the sequel and you would bloody hope so too, but Harmonix and MTV will be offering updated peripherals that are "more realistic and reliable".

Feedback from the first game has led to Harmonix to expand its online options and offer better party functionality, so your friends can hop in with much less hassle.

There's no word on what songs will feature just yet, but Teasdale called it the "strongest playlist we've ever assembled". He also mentioned the possibility of user-created content in a similar vein to Guitar Hero: World Tour, but suggested something like this would take time to do properly.

"Rock Band 2 takes all the lessons we've learned from making a multi-instrument music game, addresses them, then adds some amazing new ways for you to experience your music library that have never been seen in a music game before," said Teasdale.

"We've been scouring forums and parties everywhere for what people liked and didn't like, and I'm pretty confident we've addressed everything I've heard people ask for."

Rock Band is available on Xbox 360 in Europe, with PS3, PS3 and Wii versions yet to be dated.

ALREADY?!

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, (360 / PS3)

How annoying is that? What's the point? Aren't they making enough money from the DLC?

If they bring out new peripherals that differ from the current Rock Band ones they can piss off.
