Real Madrid Thread

Looks like Mourinho is preparing a formation that doesn't include a pure striker. He pulls Benzema out and fields Kaka and the goals come. It will be weird if he sticks with it.

Real always had too many strikers in the past years and now that they really need one they don't enter the market. Strange!

I don't think its something he wanted to do but Benzema isn't performing so he thought he'd bring Kaka in and let Ronaldo roam centrally, Higuain will walk back into the team.

JM has shown much more patience for Benzema than anybody ever would. I think it's time to sign any class striker.

P.S. .. and Coentrao.

By the way, why Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't sent off after this wild aggression?
YouTube - Real Madrid-Atletico De Madrid.Cristiano Ronaldo Casi Mata a Thomas Ujfalusi 13/01/2011

Easy, the referee, that ignored at least 3 clear red cards to Real, was the same referee that had whistled the previous madrid derby, ignoring penalties of Xabi Alonso and Ramos.

Just to remind how referees have been blatantly biased in the last matches, but also because a tackle like this one MUST be a red. We all were in shock when Ujfalusi himself injuried Messi with a less savage tackle. So, Ujfalusi doesn't deserve the same respect? Can Cristiano brutally tackle him unpunished? In Spain, it seems that he can.

PS: If Messi did this, I would say the same. Thing is, you'll never see Messi doing this to an opponent. Dani Alves, yes, he does now and then, and he's a dirty player that should be sent off or warned more often, as he also dives like Ronaldo.

I watched the game and Ronaldo was running like a mad dog all game. I was impressed he was chasing every ball. This competition between him and Messi is bringing the best in both.

Real was lucky yesterday in the cup match against "Pupas" atlético. A goal in the 90 minute after some embarrasing moments in deffense by atletico let them go with an undeserved 3-1 that makes them quite easy to go through. Will we have a Madrd-Barça in the cup final? It's probable!

Undeserved 3-1!?
12 shots on goal
16 De Gea saves
117 attacks
13 corners
65% ball possession

Should have been more!

Agree. He had no intention (even apologizes) but it is red card, no doubt.

Both sides have what to complain in this game (1st goal offside?) as Madrid had some points to blaming on at previous matches (Sevilla e.g. by the top of my head).

Not only in Spain but also in Europe as you are going to see below.

Never? Really? As said in some thread in this forum Messi isn't properly a saint. Maicon can tell you:
YouTube - Maicon Messi injury
and
YouTube - Maicon injury & Messi Tackle M 11.avi
He also apologizes but you have to agree this kind of approach is unnecessary.

Somehow I think some people believe this is a battle between Devils (Madrid) and Saints (Barça) or the guy next door (Messi) vs the arrogant and selfish man (Cristiano). C’mon! This is football! We are not judging personalities!

Hearing the clichéd, arrogant "holier than thou" rubbish from Barca fans is becoming quite cringeworthy these days, even though I hate being on the same side of the arguement as a Madridista and Mourinho fanboy like TSO.

If I'm a Mourinho fanboy then 10 million Portuguese people are Mourinho fanboys. If defend someone is being a fanboy then I'm proud to be a fanboy. If arguing a cause is being fanboy I'm proud to be a fanboy. If supporting Real Madrid is being a fanboy I'm proud to be a fanboy. If support a Portuguese is being fanboy I'm even proud to be a fanboy!

I know you had no intention to offend Abou. Remember we used to talk in Benfica topic and I know (at least I presume) you're a nice guy. ;))

I think there is no really fanboys in here. I love this discussions with drekkard and other Barça fans because we use valid (at some times not valid ) arguments. Real-Barça is a passion in all the ways.

By the way, he will kill me when sees my last long post. :P

It's all good fun, TSO, although the discussions often go round in circles, which is why those of us who are neither Real, nor Barca fans come in to freshen it up a bit, even if it means playing "Devil's Advocate" in the process. ;)

TSO you FANNNNNN BOOYY! how you like them apples

Messi did not do anything dirty TSO. imo it`s just an argie brazil thing I see that all the time rafael vs tevez ,Denilson vs zabaleta. Messi was more defending his stance in the 1st vid n 2nd vid was hardly nothing.

He's very young and he is improving a lot. Did you watch Madrid matches? Marcelo is one of Mou's favourites. Oh, Marcelo's clever than Ramos.

Yeah, I know mate, it's just to goad. So I think Ronaldo hasn't done anything dirty, he just made a bad tempo tackle. If you want examples of dirtiness I would say Ujfalusi on Messi or Ramos on Messi too.

This guy is impressive. History in the making. He is about to break Puskas' fastest 50 league goals record. Amazing, just amazing.

According to RTL7 channel, Real Madrid is negotiating... Ruud Van Nistelrooy!!! :CONFUSE:

Almeria 1 - Madrid 1
Almeria 0 - Barça 8
Barça 5 - Madrid 0

Barça > Almeria > Madrid.

Again Madrid can have any perfect players but the true thing is somewhere else..i feel sorry for "real" real madrid fans though, those who dont want galactico bullshit...

@Pipa, Honestly, most of the fans don't care about the galáctico thing. In fact, the "galáctico" word and meaning has disappear from our vocabulary, only the press uses it. We just want to win.

@VanderVoort, By that order:

Hércules 1-3 Madrid
Barcelona 0-2 Hércules

Madrid > Hércules > Barcelona

The things we have to read.

Your thoughts are correct. If you ask me if this draw ended Madrid title's hopes I will tend to answer Yes. Barcelona have to drop points at Villareal, Valencia or Sevilla (and Madrid have to win all of them of course).

By the way, I've never thought that Madrid was capable to win the league this year with all these new players and staff in a league totally dominated by the best Barça ever. Win the CL is "easier" than La Liga tough.

I don't think the title is decided at all. There still 19 matches left! Either team can have a bad night and bad luck and loose precious points at any time! Barcelona has to play in all the hard stadiums in the 2nd leg (Sevilla, Valencia, Villarreal, Madrid) and there will be days when inspiration doesn't come and things get hard.

I think the match at Bernabeu is not as important as the next 5 matches. If Madrid looses more points, then it will be hard for them to come back, really.

Btw, so tired of Mourinho speaking of referees everytime the team doesn't achieve. It's so predictable is laughable. 450 M€ to moan of the referees, again? Come on dude, grow up!

I watched the match and Madrid didn't play very well, I think Mourinho was mistaken in putting Benzema in the bench. He may not score much, but his moves are good and he creates openings for Ronaldo. Kaka clashes a bit more with Ozil and Ronaldo.

You just hit the nail on the head! The team lost the so called automatisms. They simply are not used to play without a target man. Plus, Kaka' isn't fit.

Valdano and tio Floren were given an advice by Mou this time: "sign a striker otherwise you're going to lose."

the league is more like the Globetrotters league , was surprising to see RM draw. Looking at the table just shows how this league could be on the break of being like the SPL in the near future.

Is it already like the SPL?
