Real Madrid Thread

With their recent shortage of strikers, I bet they wish they still had this man.

Real have such stupid president..he get rid of their talisman player who just playes wonderfull still... some teams like AC Milan who have amazing board would do everything to please their legendary players like Maldini... but Real with their pathetic president ruined a great Madrid career for still class player...also Guti is still quality, better than not playing Canales....shame Real... now they need a striker but above all Raul was very popular and he could end his career with Real and give lots experience to young players...wait a minute..real dont use their academy so it is pointles...

Well, according to Marca this week madrid academy is the best in Spain, so go figure, they may even believe it...

Raul is still a great player and he would have been better than Benzema, but he had some problems with Ronaldo for leadership of the club. Mourinho didn't want any other "cock" in the team, so he got rid of him and Guti to "clean" things and Florentino had to justify he has spent 400 M€ in 2 years and try to put Benzema in the starting eleven.

Personally, I think Madrid has an incredible team, one of the best in europe and favorite to all, but the way the club is managed and the image and values they project are doing them a lot of hurt. Sending Raul away like they did, without even letting him say goodbye to the fans, is not the way things are done.

I know about it, historically Barcelona did the same with their big players and symbols.

Yes i know their academy produces talent but maybe they should start making players for future again for own team... Cassilas is the only who made it long term since i remember who is currently in the team.

well, Barca thrashed RM just like they do any other team they faced, don`t tell drekkard this. I might change my name to bebo_Marca_AS :LMAO:

On the subject of Real's non-existent youth system, who remembers the comedy days of the "Zidanes y Pavones" policy?

You could argue that at least back then they got a chance in the first team, even if they were shit. Nowadays they get no chance at all. Even some of the young signings such as Canales have been given few chances in the first team.

And under a manager like Mourinho who isn't renowned for his ability for nurturing young talent, especially when he's always got his eye on his next job, it's unlikely to change any time soon.

They have of course some players from castilla in their first team and JM gave them some (little) minutes to play I remember such as Morata, Juan Carlos, Pablo Sarabia, Juanfran. I can't understand people (especially who don't even watch'em) being that harsh about RM. It's only a matter of choice. It's not a fault.

Raul and Guti aren't cocks from what I've seen in years. They're captains, that's true Raul is a leader but they are both unselfish team players on the pitch as CR, too is trying to be so last years, especially this season under the control of JM. Also RM held send-off ceremony for both as far as I can remember and they weren't sacked by the club as you see. But still I did never like the idea of sending those two legends away as well.

I agree with that Barça being the only problem of RM in Spain. They're the product of a long term project as all know and their defeats by seasonly teams should be called miracles of course.

Personally I love Barça football in all aspects but I don't like the way their fans act about especially RM. They should be happy for RM being poor in comparison to Barça instead of cursing on the club everyday.

Real actually helped develop very good players. They might not be of the quality a couple of players Barcelona have produced lately, but good.

I'll name the known ones: mata, javi garcia,de la red, granero, parejo, soldado, arbeloa, codina, miguel torres, then there are the top ones of the late 90's, even Cambiasso played 2 years in the B team(16 to 18 years old). And I had no idea Benitez was a RM academy player. :D

Sure they are not the quality of Iniesta or Messi but who knows what could have happened if they were given a good chance at Real. De la Red looked a magnificent player to me and surely Negredo could have been useful now. He played a very good preseason and then sold for Benzema.

There are also some to look out for like Marcos Alonso,Sarabia,Juanfran,Morata,...

There academy looks great actually, they should implement them more in the squad. With Mourinho it looks almost impossible.

Yes, as I said before, the main problem of RM right now is not Barcelona, is Florentino Perez. He killed the youth team himself with his transfer strategies. Sacking Del Bosque was the symbol of a way of management that has proved to be abysmal during the years.

Mourinho is a great manager but not one who develops youth players.

Zeem: you're right, all of those players played at least 2 seasons in the youth teams, the problem is they don't have the continuity to show anything. There are practically no players that spend all his youth in the accademy and then get firs team minutes. They always send them away before that. It's a shame because they are spending literally millions for players they could have developed inside. Mata and Negredo would have a lot of minutes in the team if they hadn't been forced to go so young.

That match had like 40 fouls today! It was a f'n WAR! Every player ended up with at least a yellow card. Not a lot of quality football, but lots of unnecessary challenges, tackles and arguments.

Di Maria has gotta be one of the worst divers out there. Not once but twice, he demonstrates Oscar-worthy performances.

Poor referee today. Didn't have control of the match. Couple bad off-side decisions against Real (Ozil was never off-side, he made his run perfectly)

Pedro Leon came and played well.

Sevilla really missing Navas and Perotti. They kept relying on Capel and his crosses were usually sub-standard.

Mourinho was given a paper from Madrid direction appointing all Clos Gomez mistakes during the match.

Real Madrid Club de Fútbol
13 referee mistakes:
1.- Minute 9. Referee didn’t show a yellow card to Konko after a fault on Dí Maria.
2.- minute 14. Wrong off-side on Özil.
3.- minute 20. Wrong off-side on Benzema.
4. minute 24. Zokora foult on Khedira. No yellow card showed.
5.- minute 25. Cristiano suffers foult. The game goes on.
6.- minute 34. Sevilla cause danger in off-side position.
7.- minute 39. Özil suffers fault. The game goes on.
8.- minute 43. Wrong off-side on Di María.
9.- Just 1 minute extra-time when Sevilla wasted many many time.
10.- minute 47. Wrong off-side on Özil.
11.- minute 64. Carvalho sent off after discussing the ball with Negredo.
12.- minute 69. Escudé hold Granero in the box. No penalty.
13.- minute 78. Yellow card to Özil after wasting time in the substitution. Sevilla have been wasting time all during the match and didn’t receive a single yellow.

A pathetic attitude by the club and by Mourinho, if you ask me (probably you wouldn't ask me, but anyway :) ).

First off, I watched the match and some of the things in this list are laughable, while others are totally true. But if they do a list of negative things, they should also publish the things that favourished them.

Carvalho should have been sent off in the first half with a straight red for holding Negredo who was alone towards Casillas. Quite a clear red card and he had a yellow one only. He did 3 more tackles before being sent off, so the red card was forgiven before point 11.

Point 4 could have been or not a yellow, but Ramos, Khedira and Pepe did worse tackles in the first half without a yellow either. Both teams did a lot of tackles , and hard ones, and both teams could have had more cards. It was hard to ref this match not only because of a bad ref, but also because the players showed so little.

Point 6 is a straight lie. The play is NOT offside, as seen in television. Oh dear...

Point 9 is laughable. None of the teams was dominating at all so having only 1 extra minute is not an advantage for any of them. I don't see a point in the list talking about the last minute of the match, when Sevilla had a throw in very close to the area and the keeper ended the match and Ozil had lost more than a minute by himself. They added 4 when it should have been at least 5 considering there was a goal, a sending off, 3 times players injured...

Point 13 is without discussion a yellow. Ozil stops his run to the sideline and begins to cheer everyone. He takes more than 1 minute to go away. It was a clear yellow. Sevilla lost time in the first half? Maybe, but never as obviously and never a full minute. Ozil was asking for that card, he didn't even protest.

That said, the penalty to Granero could have been, though in live it didn't seem to me. The defender holds him but he falls by himself and exagerates the fall. Probably if Di Maria and Ronaldo weren't jumping and diving like crazy horses all the time the refs would consider these plays.

About the offsides, this list is correct, but blatantly ignores the 2 plays in which Capel was going alone to the area in the first half and was wrongly whistled offside.

Add to this that Di Maria should have been sent off for diving like an olympic diver in 3 ocasions! The last 2, he already had a yellow...

So, all in all, the referee DID a lot of mistakes, some of them against Madrid and some against Sevilla. Overall, you can say the mistakes against Madrid are slightly worse than those against Sevilla. But it was the other way against Valencia and they didn't publish any list. Just another sign of how this club is being run and managed: poorly and full of bitter.

When the referee wrongly sent off Albelda in Madrid-Valencia, Mourinho said "I never speak of referees". Here you have how much his words are worth.

All that said, the truth is Madrid played a disasterous match of football against a lame Sevilla. It was a horrible match with a horrible referee, but if Madrid thinks crying like a child and publishing this shit is the way to go, then you shouldn't be surprised when most of the fans in all stadiums show anger towards them. I think Real is losing the last of the little values they kept from their past. Add to this the fight in the halftime, where Madrid staff and Sevilla staff pushed themselves and even a Mourinho assistant pushed to the floor the Madrid "Stadium manager" (in Spanish "Delegado de campo").

Good Lord ! ha-trick for you & you ! Mourinho will always play his strongest side ,but will he do it vs. the 2nd leg. Benzema is not going nowhere me think.

Some awful mistakes by the Levante defenders. Benzema needs to play like this in tougher games. He had a great chance to prove himself in the last period but most of the games he did nothing. Mourinho sometimes played with no striker because Benzema was playing really bad but sometimes he really reminds me of the way Ronaldo(the legend one) used to play. Very awesome. Anyway after 8-0 I really doubt Mourinho will play like this in the second leg and I think the coming break made him play the full formation last night.

And what was up with the fans attacking each other with that soft blue thing? :D

Karim shined himself against Auxerre. He is improving, slowly but rising game after game. I hope he can bring some of this greatness in big games as well.

Feliz Navidad y un buen año nuevo con el Real Madrid

Kaka scored from a long absence and Ronaldo hat-trick was a good day at the office. Mourinho is a complete tool very disrespectful from the highest order. Why celebrate in-front of the other teams dugout for? The thrown bottle should of hit him on the head.

Mourinho is a disgrace for this sport. People like him need to be eradicated, like violent fans.

Cristiano is a great player as we knew, he's saving some poor shows of the team this season. The energy and power he applies to every action is really out of this world.

But I will wait for TheSpecialOne oppinions on the referee. It will be great to see waht Marca and the usual "Villarato" moaners say about the clear penalty to Rossi that the ref decided to ignore in the first half (1-2 at that moment)and the double offside in Madrid's 1st and 3rd goal... It's the 3rd time in a month that the opponent looses a very tight match because of referee mistakes at the Bernabeu...

I hope Real publishes a list with the referee's mistakes today as well. Do you think?

Yeah , Ronaldo was on the ground then got up ran back took the ball and scored. I think in the PL that is deem to be on sides.

The ref confused me , Why didn`t he stop the gameplay when valero was on the floor injured. The ref was there it took Bruno to stop the game w/ a tackle which seemed normal ,but di maria wasn`t happy.

Rossi should of gotten a pen when di maria clipped him in the 2nd half.Since , he didn`t fall it wasn`t called.

I have never said I support or not the habitual "blaming the ref" attitude from Real Madrid. When I posted the list on Sevilla's game I was just doing a kind of journalist appointment. No personal opinions on there as you can see. However if you ask me what I think about the theme I will say a club like Real Madrid should never and ever use the referee's decisions to justify a bad result.

About today's match, it is obvious you are right on your analysis, there is no way to argue against. Honestly, I do not remember the penalty on Rossi but I eventual admit you are right on this again. Nevertheless I have not seen no one talking about the atrocious tackle on Xabi Alonso at the end of first half.

At press conference, Mourinho said he was just celebrating the goal with his son, who were behind Villareal's bench. I was not at Santiago Bernabeu then I should believe in what he said. I see many of you do not like Mou's behavior and personality. As I said before, you love or you hate Mourinho. There is no neutral point. Personally I love Mourinho and Villas-Boas style although I like Pep Guardiola low profile. Different types of management but the same result and quality. Yes, I admit he may be exaggerated this time but there is nothing we can do, he is a showman all the time!

By the way, Ronaldo is a machine. He scores from anywhere - free kicks, headers, lobs, volleys, etc, etc - simply amazing. He is the man to pick.
