Rangers Thread

DUNDEE UTD 1-3 RANGERS

It felt weird watching without Barry on the pitch. Stefan Klos took the captains armband for today although it's likely Craig Moore will wear it when he returns from injury. We dominated all of the first half with Capucho scoring his first goal for Rangers. And what an easy goal it was too. The second half, the Arabs pulled their finger out and Rangers sat down and let them come at them resulting in a goal from Billy Dodds about 10mins from the end. I shat it!
2 minutes later, Shota Arveladze scored a peach then Mikel Arteta scored a penalty which no-one could disagree wasn't one in the first place.
Capucho played pretty crap and his ball control is so awful. Vanoli played good in left back. Khizanishvili (I've learned how to spell it Zico  ) was man of the match and rightly so. He can do no wrong at the back. Lorenzo who?

Top of the league. We shall not be moved...

Arabs 1 Rangers 3

Well 3 good points, very tired performance after Wednesday nights glory, ran the show for the 1st half, first 25 minutes we were amazing then dropped down the gears, should have had it wrapped up though long before the ends, terrible 2nd half not a lot of football and what a shocking goal we lost, a header to Billy Dodds, FFS, we do look pretty vulnerable at the back to the high balls, hopefully when Oz is back this will soon be taken care off :-)

As expected 3 points for Rangers today, made hard work of it in the end but I don't think anyone can dispute who deserved the victory. Dundee Utd are so shite it's unbelievable, all this pish about they played well second half, Rangers just sat back and the moment Utd scored it was a matter of "how long?" before they got back in front.

It was a penalty at first, but Mols decided to take about 17 steps after slight contact and then dive, I mean even the dive was bloody half-hearted.

As for your assessment of your side FS, I respect your opinion but in mine Rangers are nowhere near the side they were last year. Emerson's had 10 minutes of football and Arteta floats out of games far too often. Your defense is woeful at dealing with high balls, the amount of times that blond prick Archibald missed headed chances today was atrocious, every half-decent corner was won by Utd. You'll need to tighten up on that, Thompson's deliveries won't be missed by Henke, BBJ, Sutton, Varga, or Bobo so easily. Other than that Khizanishvili looks a good buy.

I missed De Boer getting injured, I heard he kicked an advertising board :D .

Well done on learning to spell his name mate. You only knew how to spell it because you looked up his name.

Yes we need to tighten up at the back, when Oz comes back it will be much better, your defence aint much better, yes in the air they are better, but play the ball into feet and put the ball behind them and they are stinking, Thistle and Livi have carved them open, people like Arteta and DeBoer will punish you with ease and Mols always makes your defence look like fools, so its kinda even, you play hit and hope balls high up the field, we play football

Arteta has been brilliant this season, he drifted out the game today but who can blame him after the effort he put in on Wednesday night, he is one of our most improved players so far this season, Emerson well we need more time to assess him, other than that I cant see where we are massively weaker than we were last year, on the left we are as strong minus Numan, Central defence was never brilliant even with Amo and we can do without his gifts to the opposition, you know this as well. Up front, pretty much the same Caniggia aint being missed IMO. We shall have to wait and see how Bazza leaving affects us, but other than that the only person gone that I think will hurt us is McCann who I thought was much better than Lovenkrands, he could deliver the killer ball and I was pretty saddened to see him go.

De Boer did kick the advertising board but it was his other knee that was on ice, so I dont think it was that, but if it was then silly him.

Dunfermline and Partick made about 3 chances over 180 minutes between them, nearly all of Rangers' goals conceded this season bar McManus' wonder volley have been from high balls tossed into the box, and that diddy Archibald could have had 3 or 4 today the amount of headers he missed.

I agree we struggle when faced with pacey players and passing on the deck, but that's when we play 3-5-2, and I think it'll be 4-4-2 when we play your lot, was last time we played you (which btw you might remember, we won 2-1 comfortably at Ibrox). On the other hand formations won't help you when a big punt drops into the heart of your defense...

I don't really think anyone can argue Ferguson was clearly Rangers' best player, it remains to be seen how it will pan out but he did score a lot of goals for you last year and you'd better hope Arteta can keep banging them in - if he and Mols hit a bad spot you could be in bother.

I can't wait for the first OF game of the season, we can't really get the banter going properly playing shite in the SPL, there's always the first CL games mind... ;)

Still if crap like the Pars, Thistle and Livi can make chances then imagine what a decent side will do. Ferguson scored 80% of his goals from the PK spot though, he was one of our best players last year granted, IMO Klos was THE best player last year for us, we will miss his quality in some games I am sure of that, but I think its up to the players in the squad now to show themselves and make us miss him a lot less than we could, we have lost big players before and will do so again, it aint a major disaster, your Larsson is leaving after this season, I dont think it will mean the end of Celtic will it?

Fair point m8, it's not the end of the world and no doubt Henke leaving will be worse than Ferguson going unless we strengthen attacking-midfielder wise (which we need to do the now anyway IMO).

However as I said we played 3-5-2 against the other mobs and 4-4-2 will not suffer the same way, and I swear, between them Partick and Dunfermline only created about 3 or 4 chances in two games.

Well in that case that means they scored 25% of their chances, that aint too good

I dont think we are majorly weakened at the moment, today showed even with 3 or 4 players out we still have a decent squad for the SPL, the CL may well find us out, but I am just gonna enjoy every game as a chance for us, we might get pumped but at the end of the day, you have to be in it and we are

Even when Dodds scored i believed the result would go Rangers way coz Utd were pish all game and Rangers just couldn't finish them off, no arguments over Arveladze goal but i felt that Mols went down too easy.

I hope Mols's actions were noted by FS who continually slags of Petrov for diving, i know that TECHNICALLY it was a penalty but he did go down too easy.

LOL there is a difference between going down easy when was fouled and taken a dive for being sneezed on matey, you say it yourself he was fouled so its a clear penalty regardless of how he went down, even if he stayed on his feet it should have been a PK but with refs being so poor you have to make sure.

Petrov's swan dive againts Thistle now thats what you call a dive to cheat the ref, he is a dirty cheat of a player, when he has the ball 40 yards out he is strong to hold of challenges and has good balance to keep on his feet, oh how that changes when he gets within 25 yards, scumbag he is

FS!!! You are a knob! Sick of your constant bile and blinkered views, as i said it was technically a penalty kick as was Petrov against Thistle whereby the player jumped directly at Petrov and not even watching the ball, both defenders IMO gave the refereee an option, if both defenders either kept their hands too themselves or jumped to play the ball then the decision would not have to have been made.

LOL blinkered views?? Look tit this is the RANGERS thread its obviously going to be Rangers fans with some bias towards their team, like I go to the Celtic fan sites and expect them all to be full of praise for Rangers LOL what a moron you are!

Petrov dived like a cheat that he is, Petrov is scum, and cheating and diving is riddled right to the core of Celtic and beyond. Petrov and Sutton should be ashamed to call themselves professional footballers, they are cheats.

MON is Captain Nemo

:D You are good for a laugh though! Maybe i should just let you waffle on but id rather see some objective views rather than OF fans always disagreeing :D

Anyway that Emerson looks shite doesn't he!!? :D :D :D

The only thing good for a laugh is the Celtic media saying Rivaldo is coming on loan to Celtic, only for it to break that it is Michael Gray LOL hahahahahahahaha what a great bit of business that is by Capt Nemo and his board of penny pinchers LOL aiming high I see

LOL you also tried to get McFadden on loan, what a joke your club is, if thats the level of investment they are willing to give Capt Nemo then no wonder he will soon be following Hoonrik out the door.

Well............. they're both left footers  anyway i heard this yesterday and the panel were only commenting on speculation that was probably started by a taxi driver.

LOL come on the fact they sat there and dicsussed it as if it could happen was enough to have me in fits, LOL

I am sure Michael Gray will give you a great four months LOL

Micheal Mols getting sponsored by Speedo I heard!! Two in two games for the man known as Michael Falls, he's a right cheating diving moaning bastard. Last season in the League Cup Final he was rolling around the floor after Bobo had flattened him, then suddenly has a discussion lying down pointing at Bobo and the ref, was absolute hilarious.

FD

Coming from those that have had 3 penalty's in 4 SPL games I think its a bit rich, mind you I would assume you appreciate a good dive Frank, after all its what you pay to see every 2nd week.

It's a fooking disgrace the amount of diving that Rangers and Celtic get away with, but if the other team does it, you can't take it. Just like last years UEFA Cup final when Porto players were diving all over the place and you Celtic fans just couldn't take it, but when your players dive you say fuck all.
