Rainbow Six : Vegas 2

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

What do you mean a few levels behind?

do you mean Ranks?

because they meant jack shit really seeing as you get points for winning and losing so it didnt necessarily mean whoever was the highest rank was the better player

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Also, will there be a respawn option i.e. if you die you respawn somewhere on the map immediately. I don't wanna be sitting around waiting for everyone else to get killed before I can play again.
Depends what type of game mode you play mate :)). Sharpshooter is a respawn mode, but Team Survival is not, for example. :TU:

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

It's not slow as such, it's just slower compared to CoD4 and other run-and-gun games. I'm pretty damn excited for it :D

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Just watched a few clips and I don't think I like the idea of seeing whats behind you and around walls - when you are behind a wall! It makes it quite unrealistic?

Also the graphics (Not that I mind) look a bit more cartoony than COD.

Just things I have noticed :DD

Still will get the game though :)) No deal breakers there.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Hold on a second, say what about the walls?

Which video is that in Bobbo?

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Oh I see what you mean, I thought you said "through walls" for some reason. :|

Realism-wise it's not great, no, but fun-wise it's a lot better that way. It's incredibly annoying playing some games and getting killed every time you go past a wall because someone's camped in the corner.

You get used to it very quickly and it's better this way, I think. If you were a real spec-op you'd have great spatial awareness and you'd see things in your mind's eye that a normal person wouldn't - put it like that.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Yeah, I'll agree it's unrealistic, but for terms of a video game, this is by far the most effective way to do it. And imo is what makes Rainbow so great and tactical.

On games where you can't do it, you have to move your whole body out in the open to see round a corner and as soon as you move out - YOU'RE DEAD! So what's the point?

To be honest I need things like that - I am super shit - so it all helps :DD

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Ditto.

As I said earlier, R6V is one of the hardest and most frustrating FPS games I've played, I think. But it's one of those that is very satisfying when you get something right.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

I like the "new" look to the game compared to the first game. There were several moments when I couldn't even spot the enemy due to the contrast (yes, partly due to the tv). The game does look fun though, albeit, cartoony. I think they wanted to make everything very distinct and not keep that fuzzy look to the game.

Watched the first 10 mins video on gamersyde, looks better than I thought, better than previous videos make it look, few things I didn't like:

1. no head bob/sway when walking, that's a complete immersion killer for me

2. very stupid gameplay elements such as aiming around a corner with your gun, that is just impossible, you can spray and pray like that but you shouldn't be able to accurately aim when your guy isn't even looking,

3. finally the apparent lack of real ballistics (ie bullet penetration) Swat3 had a great bullet penetration model and that was out years ago, can't believe that a game which has so few things to calculate can't even include proper physics with the hardware available on a 360 :(

Take that last one back, bullet penetration is in there, I was confused by the guy's shit aiming in the video, yeah that was it honest ;) It actually shows up as a tip onscreen that bullets go through thin objects like wood, well they should also go through thin metal and such so time will tell........

I bet ArmA 2 can do 1 and 3 and would never let you do number 2 ;))

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Many games can do 1 and 3 but not 2........

Thats true.

I can do the Hokey Cokey, but I can't turn around and apparently thats what its all about!

Maybe rainbow 6 vegas will have the same trouble? who knows.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Yes, why?

He is trying to see who is the most manly - But using a gun isn't manly!

Lets just pull our trousers down and stick our bollucks on a table and then lets see who the real men are!!

Careful what you say, Jay might be lurking here somewhere, he'll have a right ol' go at your bollucks:DD
