YIppie NIke boots are in, all thats left now is tons of animations, decent collision detection, improved AI and better physics.
But hey, at least the boots are in!

These are my percentuals about what will be unveiled at Gamescon by Konami

Euphoria engine in Pes 2010: 0%, don't even think about that

Motion captured animations for all players: 30%
I think they just upgraded old animations to make them feel less robotic, but there is still a little chance they will surprise us

360°: 50%
According to the hints 360° is ingame ,but i'm not so sure, for example Level 7 preview didn't mention about it

The Level7 preview didn't mention the 'big' news because Konami told them not to. The author did acknowledge this - so we know something is yet to be announced - but he didn't think the new feature was a big deal.

We will see next week.

Not if there is an NDA on the fact of mentioning the NDA before Gamescon. ( which is subject to NDA's )
I swear to God, Konami should start ghost writing for Dan Brown or someone...This whole thing is getting ridiculous...

What makes me doubt it is 360 movement is that Erik calls the "big thing" new functions. Maybe if it is 360 AND something more, but he wouldn't call it set of functions otherwise.

Also while speculating, Caniggia said he wouldn't say yes or no to if euphoria was in it. Morpheme + Euphoria would be awesome but I doubt it. Morpheme I could see happening because Erik said it was much slower to turn people, more physics involved, and that is pretty much what Morpheme would add I think (don't know much about it).

Morpheme is also from Natural Motion, a lot of game companies use it, it's an animation system.

It's just too advanced I think, would be heavier on the cpu so they would have to tweak a lot of other things to make the frame rate stay the same.

Maybe 360 with manual controls, I would almost prefer that right now.

Yep, that's why I said he didn't think it was a big deal. I thought the Level7 preview was quite interesting because it offered a more grounded and cautiously optimistic opinion on the game (the way it should be) rather than the happy-clappy super optimistic view of some other sites.

The whole NDA business is doing my head in. This is the gaming industry, not government's official secrets. Has it always been this strict?

I see that the "it's an early code" excuse is being used again by Konami.

Oh boy.

Just get 'er done Konami. For crying out loud, stop the excuses and get 'er done.

With Konami I think it started when that French magazine published a really poor review of ... 2008 I think it was? They went beserk and said they might even sue because it was based on a preview version of the game, not the final product.

It's been a lot more difficult for the community guys to say things since then IMO, because they get bitch-slapped for the slightest thing. I was surprised when they got the Level7 preview took down though, especially after giving it the green light at first.

There has been far too many hints that the Euphoria Engine will be utilised within the new game for it not be be, as far as I'm concerned. What exactly does this mean to me ? Not sure, apologies for my ignorance.

Motion Capture - This is one that really baffles me. As far as I see it, we have had Mo-Cap in football games since bloody Actua Soccer, it isnt anything new. It's just been improved over the years. Individual Mo-Cap of Superstars ala Messi et al, is great, but they are never going to Mo-Cap every single player in todays game for accuracy are they ?

I honestly dont care if they use an aged Zico, Messi or a J-League pro to stick their ping-pong balls to and capture, as long as it looks realistic, and they cover as many real-life variables as possible, thats all the counts for me.

As for the 360 degrees ? It seems to be everywhere you look, that it's in the game, we will know for certain next week, we can discuss that then.

Lets not all start throwing our toys out of the pram. It's not the end of the world as we know it, and nobody has died. Although I do appreciate some feel the PES Franchise has, but according to those folk, it was years ago. Surely your all past the mourning stage by now ?

But I'm just the self-proclaimed ultimate resident PES fanboy, so what do I know.

why cant they just go back to the PES 5 source code, dont change nothing...make the graphics next-gen...update kits and players and thats it...i'd be happy if that was PES 2010...and i dont think much ppl will complain :)

Wait till you see the " I swallowed a pitchfork running animations " and the new improved ML with updated old geezers sitting on the bench screenshots. You can actually see the wrinkles on their arms!

I can see this functions:
360 control has the function to pass in more directions. I am still 100% sure about the 360 beeing in the game. If Erik calls this only nice functions he underestimate the influence of more passing directions in the game.
I tend more to the qualification of WENB in this case: HUGE! :)

I think it'll be 360 movement and standard PES passing (if it was 360 passing I would be hugely surprised and very happy at the news).

Just my two penneth. ;)

I'm not sure what to beleive and who to beleive at the moment.

Konami's awful marketing strategy only confuses people so i think I'll draw my final conclusion when we see gamescom and/or played the demo.

it will be interesting putting the snippets of gameplay we have seen next to the gamescom video's to see if there are any actual differences.

First impressions were "wow they are listening" then leading up to the next big news you get "errr not sure i understand that" until finaly you see a gameplay vid and " oh no, not that shit again"

The last video was silly to release. they should have just done a videon explaining the cards and the graphics of how they will look and left the gameplay to gamescom...........but that konami for you.

Anyway, lets just hope by some fucking miracle (akin to Lazerus) that gamescom shows us what we have been expecting from next gen.

In recent years Konami trailers seem to raise more questions than answers. Their marketing is still genuinely terrible. Apart from a new official website, and some quasi-fan feedback forums, nothing has changed.
