Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

These are my percentuals about what will be unveiled at Gamescon by Konami

Euphoria engine in Pes 2010: 0%, don't even think about that

Motion captured animations for all players: 30%
I think they just upgraded old animations to make them feel less robotic, but there is still a little chance they will surprise us

360°: 50%
According to the hints 360° is ingame ,but i'm not so sure, for example Level 7 preview didn't mention about it

Your percentages? Based on what? There is no 360 dribbling. Jeez, Fifa implement it and all of a sudden the PES fans want it in their game because Fifa is having it lol.

Thats pretty childish what you said there.

EDIT: I must add, I have never seen so much drama associated with a game like this one. Sometimes reading all the comments makes me forget we're on about a game here.

That would make them childish then, since it's the truth.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

After watching the video posted yesterday I went through the usual array of emotions that I get once konami comes out with new footage: dissapointed, loss for words & utter bafflement. But after an hour of hitting my punching bag (Its what I call my assitant...hahaha jk, dont go calling employees services) I calmed my self down & came to some realizations:
-I do believe that the video "was" an old build & was for the only sole purpose of explaining/clarifying what the card system is about & how in depth the AI will be so that we understand that this years game is going back to the simulation roots instead of arcadish style games they released w/ PES2008/PES2009
-But with that being said Gamescon is Judgement day for Konami, & not only for this year but for probably their existence as a major contender on the next gen console footy games. Becuase if not they will be labeled as a has been & that they were only good at developing a good "current" gen game & are not able to step up to the plate on next gen consoles. 3 years of bad games is too much to handle & to bounce back from.

After Gamescon I do not want to hear the bullshit line of, "Its an old build etc. etc. etc." cuz we all know far too well that what you see at gamesocn is 99.6% what your going to get come October, & for Konami not to put out another flop they need to show us at gamescon:
(1) Animations & Graphics, that they are at the least up to par with FIFA but should be better if they are doing all the mocap
(2) Manual Controls by way of buttons not right stick (I know people will bitch that its not important, but guess what it is if you want a footy "simulation game" if you want an "arcade" style game then leave it the way it is, but Konami should be able to give us the option on a next gen console! to switch manual or assited as in FIFA 09)
(3) AI, it looks to me that they are going in the right direction & that the runs made will be great but only if animations & manual passing coexist alongside it smoothly
(4) General feel of the game, the recieve & passing of the ball should feel precisly weighted & not like we are kicking around a rock

To sum up GAMESCON GAMESCON GAMESCON thats when true critisczing or adulation should begin But not 100% completly only 85% & maybe even not then but only when a demo comes out can we give a 100% assessment.

Also a little heads up to Konami, if you had a soccer coach who has 3 losing seasons wouldn't you replace him, sorry seabass maybe its time to step down, thank you for the current gen titles as they were marvelous, but maybe its time for a younger fresher approach maybe someone from Europe who gets football & maybe has played it at least at a recreational level so mishaps as sandbags in the goal, defenders parting like the red sea & many other things do not arise in the game. look at david Rutter at FIFA even though the AI is still a bit stale he has totally changed the look & feel of franchise altogether

Man I wish I had millions of doallars so I could develop my own footy game, I would get people from all over to work on the project Like: top experts from forums, actual coaches & players who play the footy games & are fans of it, also bring the top programmers in the business & only use the latest technolgies & not release it every year but maybe once every 2 years so that the game is not rushed but revolutionary everytime it comes out just my opinion.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Depends how you define 'functions' ;)
If he ment what you suggest, he should have talken about features, don't you think?

To me it is most likely on line master league, which is a great thing but nothing revolutionary.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

@fremm. Imo in admist of all this fuss konami must keep the weasel from developing mange and stop the tail falling off, thus keeping in place the cunning plan.;)

Edit- Or my lord we could secrete the weasel into baldricks underpants where not even the most hardent fanboy would dare too look for answers.

This thread hurts me so.

One day, we will have a PES game free of selective untuckening. When that day arrives, evo-web shall be blissfully silent.

Why is there so much controversy about 360-degree movement? Adam practically 99% confirmed it was in the game.

PS - The next metal gear will be on the Xbox 360, in case the diagram showing "180 + 180 = 360" was too vague.

It's not an "all of the sudden" thing. Seabass has been working on it for the 2008 and 2009 games. Obviously it wasn't ready for both games.

I'm an optimist. I say at Gamescom the big announcements will be 360-degree movement and a new physics engine for tackles and air/ground collisions. Why a physics engine:

1) Canigga's "Euphoric" comment which he deleted then said he can't deny or confirm a new Euphoria engine in PES2010.
2) KONAMI is listed on Natural Motion's website as a customer, maybe for one of it's sports games? Like, PES2010?

Frankly, all I care about is animations on par with FIFA09. I want to see ingame movement that makes me forget how old-gen PES moved.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Caniggia didnt post that comment. It was by someone else. This has been said numerous times now.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

From PESFAN.COM:

'We’ve got a jam-packed schedule next week guys, jam packed. Starting on Monday at 10am, we’ll be posting both our in-depth PES2010 preview and the Q&A session we’ve been working on (filled with answers to a tonne of questions you’ve been asking).

There’ll also be our Master League play test article on Tuesday. My ML season is going terribly, but the mode itself is coming along nicely, expect as much info as we can provide on the 18th.

On the 19th, we’ll be releasing some further information straight from the mouth of favourite fish-man, Shingo “Seabass” Takatsuka, where he’ll be giving his live presentation at Gamescom. What this means, we don’t quite know, but be assured you’ll find out as soon as we do.

Depending how good you’ve been this year there might even be a few surprises in store, as well as more of your questions being answered on both our twitter and the constantly updated Q&A thread at various points right throughout the week.

Phew. Sounds like a lot. That’s because it is! And all you have to do in making sure you never miss a single part of it is to check back regularly all week long - right here on PESFan.'

I said this before but I'll say it again in-case you missed it - he PM'd the mods at WENB after the sad bastards who made this whole thing up posted the "Euphoric" comment crap. He asked for them to be banned for stirring up shit in the PES community, and being a decent bloke, there's no way he'd do that to innocent posters. He loves the community.

He made no such comment, and knowing that he's a decent guy I know that he didn't. BUT, if you absolutely must cling onto something, cling onto the fact that he's so upset about them making such a comment up. Which could mean he doesn't want Konami to think he actually did say such a thing - which he didn't, but which would get him into big trouble if he did, if that's what Konami are planning.

Believe what you will (it's getting like The X Files now).

Well I guess this too is as good a reason to believe a new physics engine is in the game....

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

From NaturalMotion's website:
NaturalMotion’s other DMS product endorphin creates off-line animation an order of magnitude faster than traditional techniques, and is widely used in the film and games industries, with customers such as Sony, Giant Killer Robots, The Mill, Capcom, Namco and Konami.

Notice how 'Konami' is at the end of this list, as if it is the "most recent" big games company to adopt Endorphin. Yeah I know Konami has ma-haaa-ny games out each year, but it makes sense to believe PES2010 is a strong candidate to be the Konami game to benefit from this new expensive system (PES is one of Konami's best sellers).

Surely you've learnt to take anything Adam says with a pinch of salt?

And that diagram was used to show MGS on the iPhone, not the 360.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

It's 100x more likely that the guy who does the website has been given a list and he's put the list on exactly as it's written down. I don't think for a million years the place of a company on that list denotes how recently they adopted Endorphin.

But I'm going to shut up now, it's less than a week until Gamescom so then we'll know and we can put this whole thing to bed.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I know you guys like reading the tea leaves - but to argue and presume what is in and what isnt ???

- Lets take the concept that they have been working on some of these technologies for awhile now - If they cant get them to function how they want then they'll probably go with a build where it isnt implemented and finalize that for this year (if thats what they have done in the past). I dont know if that is true or not but my point is - lets not jump to conclusions until stuff is officially announced.

I can see it plain as day - the game comes out and there is no 360 movement and/or collision tech and ppl start heading for ledges and claiming all is lost. They havent said all of this stuff is in, we are just expecting it and for some that hope has turned into delusion.

Hope for the best yes - but expecting a silver platter seems.....:BRICK:
