Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Stolen once again from elsewhere .......

I have highlighted the part which everybody will jump all over. Just to save you the hassle. :SMUG:

From the Boss of Pesfan, who has playtested recent code .......

I'm not sure I understand some peoples points here, are people expecting an entire rewrite of the whole game 'a total overhaul'. Do they expect it to suddenly play from top down and be a complete change in the way we play football games, maybe strapping a 360 degree waggle stick to their foot?

Get realistic its PES its the same game you have all played a million times and loved over and over. What it is is the best version of PES there is with new features, improved graphics, better animations, better master league...the best version of PES we've had and probably the best football game around.
PES 09 is a great game that as everyone knows has a few problems (online broke etc).
It also includes changes and fixes requested by this very community!

PES 10 will be a better game you only have to look at the improvements being shown to know this game is going to kick ass.

And this is apparently from a guy who was very critical of PES 2009, although the bold part I have highlighted certainly doesnt suggest so. :CONF:

At least myself and Seppovich will be happy if nothing else. Which is nice.

The problem is exactly that we have played the same game a million times....we are very much in need of some fresh air....

Quoted In fekkin' Agreement!
If I want the same game, I'll play PES5.
What gives me the incentive to spend 40 odd quid on a game that is stagnating for the last 4 years??
New lighting? :OOOH:
Visible arm hair? :OOOH:
Get a grip!

Ermmm, I think that boat sailed out of the harbor 3 years ago IMO.
I try not to be overly negative, but some people are just overly positive IMO...Some of the people on here are a couple of fries short of a Happy Meal.(including myself)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm pretty sure that the animations will look fantastic on replays and such and that the graphics in general will be nice to the eyes but my main concern will always be the gameplay. That's why I just can't make up my mind right now because we have had next to nothing useful informations so far.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I highlight on the Gameplay in the video and not the tactical innovations. Enough for them was written and spoken before this a video .
Here is only gameplay montage by me : YouTube - PES 2010 - New Gameplay Video - 50 % Build
There are a lot of things that I liked and some don't .
I really like how the players are prepared and waiting for the ball from the low pass . Look very nice. Previous editions of the PES they was static :
(PES 2009)
pes2009pass.gif

But not now! Now they prepare to take the ball :
(PES 2010)

Another thing that my impression is improved running animations . Yes , it's still robotic but it's better that in PES 2009.

But there are things I don't like . That are Hole animations . I can't see effect of Mo-Cap. I Hope that is very , very early build . And why Konami can't fix dribbling in a straight line  :xlips: 3 years repeat the same mistake .

He not push the ball and she herself by jumping .. something but not his foot :xlips: Animation is same all time, he just running . But Why ? It's so hard to make it ?? No it's not! Look Konami's soccer since 2002 :

Lol, look much , much better ! And that is Current gen game ! =/
Here you can see how player push the ball and which foot do that !

I think that last comparison sums it up. 2002>2009 when it comes to animations for Konami.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Probably most of you don't care but if anyone feels the need to throw Seabass a question here is your chance.

WENB To Interview Seabass At Gamescom!

Mentioned in a podcast a few weeks ago, WENB has had confirmation that the interview with Seabass is all systems go!

Gari will be attending the show on behalf of the site, and will sit down with the PES legend on Thursday afternoon and spend around 30mins with him.

To get you guys involved, WENB has opened up a thread in the forums giving members a chance to get their questions answered! Click here to find it, and if your questions are good enough Gari will put them to Seabass!

What are you waiting for? Get thinking!

@antraxa: I've wrapped your .gifs into a spoiler tag since they're pretty large and eat up quite some bandwidth.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

and the zeemeister. As long as the new animations are there, the ai is upto scratch and the game is challenging I'm a happy camper.
I do not want another FIFA please!

Sorry Zeemeister, I forgot there was THREE of us in this world that still loved PES :COAT:

To be fair, just popped my head into the FIFA 10 thread that Chris and Co are play-testing, and it sounds pretty good. Shooting seems to have improved, which is huge. The Helium balloon high pass seems to be still there but hopefully they will sort that. Player individuality would still be my biggest question though. Without that, for me personally, as a true simulation, no matter how beautiful it looks, wouldnt get my pass mark. But here's hoping.

That's a brilliant post man. I hadn't noticed how the player moves realistically and backs up as the ball approaches him, instead of the static "hunched" waiting of the ball in PES2009. I also loved the old ISS running animation, it looks MUCH, much more realistic that the one in PES2009.

I hope the Gamescom build has the much promised animation overhaul... Adam is already saying the screenshots with the new filter and lighting (both missing from the 55% build) are "mind blowing".

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

@jimmy. Yeah it does sound good. I've preordered it but I'm considering cancelling it if PES2010 is upto MY standard and getting The world cup edition at a later stage.

Add me to that list. I never used to agree with the people that said they wanted PES5 HD, but after the last couple of years I would take that. Give me classic PES gameplay dressed in next-gen clothing and I will be more than happy. Some may call this low expectations, but I don't care.

That running animation shows how far standards have fallen at Konami. And remember, the majority of animations weren't mo-capped back then. Testament to how far ahead of the game Konami were back then.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

After hearing how FIFA 10 uses 360 degree control I really hope PES 2010 does feature it and its used in an effective manner.

Turns out FIFA10 only has 360 degree control on close control. With normal speed it's 16 and when sprinting it's 8.

I'm not sure about the limitation, but I do agree that the higher the speed, the more the limitation... but a player should be able to move in most directions, only it would take more time and would potentially put him off balance...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

On FIFA 10's player individuality (won't post about it again in here but I'm just responding to Jamezinho)...

I think it's fair to say for most players, there's not a major difference. But with the "star" players - Gerrard, Walcott, Eto'o - you do feel like you're them (and not just in that they're faster). Gerrard was so strong he was practically sticking his hand in the face of everyone who tried to touch him, Walcott was fast and had the skill to beat a man (twice), and Eto'o could burst through the defence and shoot (without it seeming like an exploit or unrealistic, because it doesn't happen time and time again).

I was very impressed but I will leave now. Time for bed, didn't sleep a wink last night...

Ok, It's just I saw that Tim7 said he didn't notice any improved individuality (as you know my major gripe with Fifa). Those things you've mentioned seem to revolve around pace and strength yet again, but if the response times and long range shooting have been improved I guess this will help players feel more like their real-life counterparts.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I scored a couple of stunners with Gerrard that you couldn't score with anybody else. Proper signature-style goals of his (although Lampard managed one from a free-kick situation).

Individuality is there IMO, but not with every player.

Thats it the star players - everyone who plays isnt a star but they may have certain abilities that make them special and can use that to impact a game.

Thats FIFA's way though - always has been - remember their World Cup games

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Anyone who isn't a star player normally has extremely inaccurate attributes in PES though, so the "individuality" of those players, although present, is false...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I seriously never get this individuality stuff. The Top players have the "Stats" for them to have the abilities of what makes them special. Do you guys hold the sprint button whilst mashing the skill one and get tackled and say "ow Ronaldo should have beat that man" or shoot whilst the player is off balance and say "Gerrard scores them!" You, the person in control makes the player a individual, thats how it worked in PES and thats how it works in FIFA. For me anyway.

I don't think that's entirely fair. It's not just the star players that get the attention to detail in PES. Play with a smaller team like Wigan or Hull and you still notice realistic differences between players.

This thread hurts me so.

One day, we will have a PES game free of selective untuckening. When that day arrives, evo-web shall be blissfully silent.

LOL

have they deleted the sandbags already?? Probably too much of an effort for them (maybe they keep some things to improve(=> change) in the 2011 version...) :FAIL:
