Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Sensible World of Soccer is where it's at. Also, Mr. Dino Dini and those who made Perfect/Fighting Eleven (Super Famicom) would like to have a word with you, Sir.

I also strongly believe that a lot of the people posting in this thread should try out the latest iteration of the J. League WE franchise (we're talking about PS2 titles) which is quite different from the western PS2 Pro Evo counterpart and leaps and bounds better than any (allegedly) next-gen FIFA or PES, gameplay and production design-wise (and the 2009 version is just days away from being released in japan...).

the j league game is not that different then the western pro evo's...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Just played PES 2009 online. The first time in a Loooooooooooooonnnnnnnnngggggg time and it felt just shit/wrong/broken/laggy whatever you want to call it.

I actually played a decent few games with a guy(nice not to play big team charlies)

Bordeux V Marsielle
Ajax V PSV
Genoa V Udinese

3-3 every time Nonsense, teams 2-0 up. Still playing all attack mentally and no matter how much i drag them back change mentality they STILL go forward:CURSE:

Please fix Konami:PRAY:

id probably beat you mate,il play you online later ..... oh wait:COAT:

what im saying is it used to be a challenge to play pes on the highest level and you needed to have some sort of a football brain, goals were not easy to come by matches never finished 8 or 9 nil.now anyone can pick it up and use these soft goal methods which has taken the skill out of it

PES6 on Xbox360 is still online without lag, that game's far more playable than 2008/2009.
Hard to believe it went so wrong from there :(

PES 2008 out autumn: First shots and details!Monday 18-Jun-2007 12:41 PM 'Learning AI' to make for "the closest simulation of real football to date"
The next edition of everybody's favourite football sim, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, is well underway and Konami has finally broken the silence and revealed what it hopes will make this the footy game to own this year.

The big new feature Konami is shouting about is an 'adaptive' AI system it calls "Teamvision". As Konami explains: "Teamvision is a sophisticated AI programming that learns and adapts according to an individual's style of play. As such, it will learn new ways to build attacks and to counter specific movements and previous attacking or defensive errors, ensuring games are more in line with the tactical but flowing nature of the real thing."

So finding a big weakness in the game's AI and repeating your technique won't work anymore, by the sounds of it.

Defenders will work together to track down the player, closing up spaces and blocking advances before they can be converted into goals.

Konami emphasises the significance of the ball being "treated as a separate entity", as with previous Pro Evo titles, and explains that passing and control over the ball will work "along the same lines".

But overall 'close control' of the ball is said to be improved, with dribbling and other subtle moves tweaked to allow the player to weave through the defence. Set pieces have also been enhanced, now giving you full control over the number of players and position of the defensive wall, among other offensive options.

As expected, Konami will be adding a fair bit of spit and polish the visuals of the new game on PS3 and 360, with full facial animations, sure to make for more convincing replays, and more realistic cloth movement on the kits as the players sprint around. An edit mode will also feature.

Shingo Takatsuka, creator of the series and producer of PES 2008 said, "We have taken a long hard look at what has made the Pro Evolution Soccer series so popular, and where we want to take it next.

"With the new Teamvision AI system, we truly believe that we have elevated the game to a new level. The movement of players off the ball, coupled with the total control given to the player, creates the closest simulation of real football to date. We really hope everyone enjoys our evolution. I promise it will be worth the wait."

PES 2008 will be out in Autumn 2007. Konami "pulling out stops" for PES 2009 News News by Robert Purchese
14 August, 2008
Konami claims to have "pulled out all the stops" in order to make Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 a "landmark in footballing games" as part of a raft of feature announcements today.

Controls, visuals and AI are all areas rethought and rebuilt in order to reinvigorate the football simulation - and of course to tackle increasingly stiff competition from FIFA.

Pulling off tricks, for instance, is now done by rapidly changing direction when on the ball, rather than by relying on complex special moves.

Teamvision AI, the big idea from last year, will be more adept and send team members off on runs as they adapt more intuitively to their surroundings.

Plus, everything you see should be more detailed, sound better, and behave much more realistically than ever before; weather conditions mean passes need to be stronger on soggier pitches and so on.

Become a Legend mode, however, is billed as the biggest addition in PES 2009. This casts you as a single midfielder or striker, because those are the most exciting positions, obviously.

Here you start as a rookie and plough your way to the top, climbing the transfer ladder after good results and falling down after bad ones.

Become a Legend extends online to Legends mode, which sounds a lot like Be a Pro from FIFA. Friends band together together in teams - no word on how many - and take on rival squads.

"We have pulled out all the stops to make PES 2009 a landmark in footballing games. From the most basic controls through to the wide-ranging additions to game modes such as Become a Legend, all-new visuals, sound, and the Edit mode, Seabass and his team have strived to cram as much as they can into the new game," said Jon Murphy from Konami.

"And with more online announcements to follow, there is every reason to believe that PES 2009 is the football game everyone has been waiting for." :LIE:  ;)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Who believes the press releases anyway?
I remember laughing last year at everyone foaming at the mouth at FIFA supposedly taking wind pressure and other factors into account when a ball was struck.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

YouTube - Capcom's Soccer Shootout: Germany vs. Holland (First Half)

Loved this game as the gameplay was so much fun. You could do a shoulder tackle too. Headers, diving headers, volleys, scissors, screamers all in. It only has 12 national teams with fake names yet is still fun. Fks were lovely. You could also score from Cks using the L and R buttons for spinning the ball.

Oh and guess what, it has indoor soccer!

Forgot to add its an SNES game.

FIFA say lots of things. Apparently they are implementing a bribe or "tapping up" function when dealing with transfers or licenses for FIFA11

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Look at the size of the ball and the goal!

Have to say I've never played this game.. looks like fun though.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

A Great Britain national team? Oh dear! Don't show them pompous cunts in the 2012 Olympic committee that video, they'll be going about it again!

Lol agreed. PES should never have been made a pick up and play title for the whole family as konami put it so aptly.

The animations, sounds and realism are at least on par with PES2009 there.

That looks a tonne more fun as well.

Confirmation that Konami have seen the light

Qouted from WENB

I just want to pass on a message to everyone at WENB to say thanks for all your input over the last few months. Your creativity and enthusiasm has been astonishing, and your support and obvious care for the game has gone beyond the call of duty. Your input has been passed back to the WEP team – yes, even the nets and gloves! – and I think you are going to be very pleased with some of the announcements we have planned just before gamescom. Thanks again for all your input – it is fair to say that you have been an integral part of the PES 2010 team, and we hope we can keep working with you in future versions, too.

And from PESgaming

PES Gaming members have probably been the most hard to convince that WEP are changing and are really making every effort to make improvements that the fans want. That’s not a criticism. I totally understand those feelings. But despite the scepticism, you’ve given the team some great food for thought, so a really big thank you from me for that. I’m now looking forward to reading reactions over the next few weeks to our announcements. I’m really confident we’ll be able to prove WEP has taken you fans seriously and is doing everything to come up with the game you’re asking for. Please keep the comments, suggestions and complaints coming. Your input is essential for now and the future.

I'm impressed Konami, but you all know the cliche proof....pudding...etc

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I only hope you don't expect this to be totally true. There's no material time to implement things on a game that will achieve gold status in a month or two and, by now, has everything developed and only tweaking, refining and testing.

Surely, and that's a goood sign, they will add suggestions into the pes 2011 evolution, but it's absurd to gather feedback for improvements at the end of the development.

My guess is they will try to show things they have already developed and know that were wanted by the fans (mainly because it's YEARS we are demanding them publicly) as if they had listened to the community.

i agree mate,i think we will get mainly superficial fixes(nets, gloves, untucked shirts) for pes2010 ,and the actual gameplay fix we all want might take 1-2 years more to get it to the level we all wish for

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If they add full mo-capture animations for players and keepers, fix ball psychics, online, gloves, nets, untucked shirts, graphics I think that PES 2010 will be good enough game;)

Rediculous assumption!
If they do that little then they can stop the series, because that would be their downfall.
They are no fools.
