PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Those were the days of names being "acceptable" (Zappa, Premoli and De Simone in Italy are common surnames) and not simple mockups like Revameli for Ravanelli or Klinsnam for Klinsmann..

And, guess what? The game was fun to play even without any license
I think those games were more played by pure hardcore-fans. Current days PES has more and other customars. Those who more look to the visual aspects rather than the gameplay.
Nowadays a lot of people complain if the sponsorname on the shirt is missing, or when boots from a certain brand are missing. Stuff like that.
The game should be great even without that kind of things and hardcore-fans don't mind if that kind of visual details are missing...

Haha you see A LOT of those "new" customers here. Sandbags, mickey mouse gloves, fake boots, shirts tucked in, etc.

You dont need to see very far away to notice them.

My all-time favourite and I think the cleverest fake name Konami ever did:

Maxwell (House).

That was great - they had a funny one for Marek Heinz in the same game - 'Campbell'!

I think its more about generations. I, like you, am an old player, i started to play videogames on an old commodore 64, in times where there was almost nothing editable in a videogame, but we enjoyed it like hell. Does anyone remember International Soccer for the commodore 64? It had very simple graphic but a so nice gameplay!!! Or even Microprose Soccer, another funny game.
Wehn now i see posts like "If i dont see perfect nets for every stadium or a bigger editable bootpack i will not even think about buying the game" i feel sad, i feel like something changed, i dont see myself in such youngsters, and im not even soo old, im 31, but still i think the real videogamers are a rarity nowdays. Technology added a lot of good things in visual aspect but we lost what it was a simple "wow, this game is so funny to play".
I hope i didnt offended anyone, it is just my poor point of view.

ah...I remember the WE days when its all in Japanese and not knowing which player was which, but just played with who had smily faces...hahaha...it was a HUGE blast just playing such games...

then when WE4 came out...now knowing wihch club was which, it was fun guessing with their pixelated shirts, and again....huge fun times with the pals

Some nice points mate, I do think many games suffer with graphics over game play issues.
I'm often amazed at what goes on in our modding forums and the lengths some guys go to with the gloves and even tape...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Yes, certainly some nice points. I also remember Emlyn Hughes International Soccer on C64 :)
Goal! Was also nice.
But compared with these ISS was a real revolution in football games. I played the first Konami-footie on PS1 and kept playing these games. Especially for ISSPE2 I bought a PS2 and later I bought PS3 only for PES 2008. That I should never have done, but I did read so many positive things before the game released...
Now I hope PES 2010 will be a collection of all those good things that all those earlier ISS and PES games got...
...plus a bit more ;)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

We're not getting anything until Gamescom, wasn't that already mentioned?

Sorry for OT, figured I'd get this out again.

Speaking about old games i am preparing a patch for PES 3, it was my favorite of the series (the first with the actual master league, with some small differences, for example was the last one without player grouth) just for fun, i will make a 2009/2010 version, im not yet sure if i will publish it or not, i dont think too many players wants to play with it :D

Sorry for the OFF-Topic

Yeah dude, International Soccer was my first ever game, the big cartridge stuck in the back of the Commodore 64. I had forgotten all about Microprose Soccer..............ah the memories!!
Emelyn Hughes was my fav though

Make it please

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Make it please

For sure i will, i am working on it everyday for already 2 weeks by now, right now while we speak i am creating the kit of germany, i am not a kit maker, so my kits are not perfect, but database is going very well, with all stats updated to this season, and when i will finish with kits and database i will think about new commentary, but for now only in italian since its my language :), but for all menus and kits, it will work both in english and italian.

What i was thinking about its just if to share it or not, thats all, and plus will take time since i am working all alone on it

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

i was looking at the "for the love of the game" thread on that other site and it made me remember that Gamecube version of Winning Eleven. I STILL HAVE IT. it was definitely one of the best PES evr. next to PES5 for me. the control was amazing. i felt i was only limited in my imagination in how i could score a goal.

lol it was the ONLY PES/Winning Eleven for the gamecube and it was only available on import from Japan.

damn i was a geek for this franchise back in the day haha

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Sorry to be :OT: again but i read somewhere a couple of years ago that some people refuse to move on from pes4 has it was deemed perfect gameplay. anybody else heard this? btw i mod my pes as i want it too look as realistic as possible but by the same token i want gameplay to be up to the mark ie the perfect simulation (none of this scripting crap) and i am 43  so i suppose it takes allsorts to make a world. or am i just a sad old git :PP

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I was excited as heck to see the patches coming out for old WE titles on the PS2, because the superb gameplay was complimented by actual players and authenticity to names/kits etc.

But if it wasn't for the core physics being so fantastic, boots, shirts, names, wristbands, nets etc. etc. etc. mean nothing.

So from a 29 year old old school gamer, to heck with fans that scream for nets/gloves and all that crap, fluid football and physics is where it's at!

Pes4 was shite iirc, I ended up with scores like 12 - 9 when playing with friends making it too arcadey and like fifa and it was way too easy to dribble.

Qouted in agreement.
PES3 was the revolution and PES5 was the evolution, the series peaked at that point. IMO.

I hope PES 2010 fills the void wd seem to have had in our lives since PES5. Don't get me wrong I have been content ever since but now I want to be in awe again.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

PES 5 is such a fantastic game. I have both 5 and 6 installed currently to fill my football gaming void and I'm having so much fun with 5. PES 6 feels too easy and dumbed down in comparison. Passing doesn't seem right and shooting isn't as good. I could never get my head round why they had to mess around with it from 5? It's still fun and the main reason I'm still playing it is for the updated option file but PES 5 is definitely where PES peaked.

Dare I say it? If PES 2010 is any where near as good as PES 5 (in HD, with better animations/modes/ML/online play) it would be simply fantastic.
