Nowadays a lot of people complain if the sponsorname on the shirt is missing, or when boots from a certain brand are missing. Stuff like that.
The game should be great even without that kind of things and hardcore-fans don't mind if that kind of visual details are missing...
I think those games were more played by pure hardcore-fans. Current days PES has more and other customars. Those who more look to the visual aspects rather than the gameplay.Those were the days of names being "acceptable" (Zappa, Premoli and De Simone in Italy are common surnames) and not simple mockups like Revameli for Ravanelli or Klinsnam for Klinsmann..
And, guess what? The game was fun to play even without any license
