Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

After watching the ML screenshots I think I discovered something new.

The name ML_Youth ( with the underline in between ) looks typically a file-name.
With the training pin in front of that name, it hints to a specially saved training-program.
That means you can train players ( both youth and first team players ) and save it.

That's a lot of work if you are right Han... I'm betting it's just a good if not hopeful imagination on your part...;))

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

lol adam's having a meltdown @ WENB. my goodness.

nice new screens. it the same old konami with spelling errors but i wouldn't have it another way.

i just want a compelling ML this year.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

i got an answer to my email and it's quite confusing.

------------------------------------------------------
Sehr geehrter Herr XXX,

i. A. Holger Merk

so what they are saying (now) is, they are actually talking about it to konami. plus, they cant confirm yet on any license for the german national team going to konami.

what is happening here? i dont get it!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I got this message:/

"Sehr geehrter Herr ...,

Nice thought, but I think it's something else. We'll wait and see though...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I would agree with Han actually, perhaps I'm overly hopeful but if it is related to training regimes then... Wow.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Training regimes ala Football Manager would be sweet.

I can't remember the name of the player in the picture, is it Castilo? Isn't he normally a striker?

True disgrace, u should know thats Minanda AMF:)
Castilo is indeed a CF and he has a black skin color:)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

In that case they must have given Minanda a new role then because he was only a midfielder in the past, or have I got that wrong too...

I remember now, Castilo is from Brazil.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I don't mind the names of the youth players being fake but why do they have to be names that don't exist in their native languages? It's as if they *want* to be a laughing stock.

Being English it's obviously the British names that stand out and annoy me the most - I forget the English one but it's three letters long and ridiculous, as well as the Welsh one (Macco). If they were called Smith and Jones it would be 100x more believable.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I agree for the generic players they should at least use existing names in different countries like Sanchez, Sousa, Rossi etc.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I've always edited the names (in the editor) back to what used to be their original names: Castello, Vorlander, Matt, Ximenez, Miranda, Huygens etc... The PES/WE United players have some particulalry daft sounding names. eg Lanalkiss and Dogue.

Yeah it's weird. It's almost as if Konami are trying to create unlicensed versions of players that are fictional in the first place!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I remember WE3 on the PS1 the copy I had, used to have a player named scorpion. That game was my first outing with Konami. My copy was completely japanese and you could buy Roberto Carlos and play him anywhere.lol.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Yeah, I had a good laugh at the bastardised versions of fictional players. By the looks of it they changed them to represent how the names might sound when said by a Japanese, e.g. Matt > Macco.

Anyone remember the PES2 commentary? They used to pronounce 'Burchet' phonetically so it sounded like 'Bird shit'!

Why don't they use REAL youngsters for every single team in the game ? All clubs in the world have youth teams, all what they have to do is to browse the profiles of those guys in the appropriate websites.

And I agree with you if they had to use fictive ones they should be localized (names, appearances and even abilities based on the club's country: Technique for Latino guys, agility for Asians, shot power & height for Germans, Speed and athletic abilities for Africans, high stamina and mentality for British players, but it should be just a general tendency. Diversity is necessary. :))
