Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Mate, I have 33,000 points on online gaming, I've played hundreds of hours.

And PES2009 was horrible in so many ways, but they certainly understand football more than FIFA, the mere dribbling in FIFA serves to demonstrate this fact so painfully. Also the unresponsive controls, tight situations are impossible even though a player with half the technical ability of Nevalja Vidic would be able to turn. Don't get me started on the idiotic "jockey" button or the way players steal the ball from behind, like you're a ghost or something with the ball.

Don't get me wrong, I can see the good things in FIFA09, but so many things in regards to physics, angles, space, geometry are so far off real football that it frustrates after 1 or 2 games, bong doesn't help either ;)

Online is a different game to playing against the AI, don't want to get into a FIFA-PES war. It is harder to dribble in FIFA I admit but that's a good thing in my opinion.

FIFA has some massive faults just like PES, I guess each to their own, a few years ago I was saying the same about FIFA when I was playing nothing but WE and PES...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

People....do u see the running animation on those screens?? That takes away so much from the game....if they don't fix that i am not gonna buy it for the third year in a row...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Seemed to be doing just that on the in studio Vid. Given the use of it in the videos and given the whole Messi thing, I would say it will be in there...

Ok but in don't understand one thnig.Konami said that they made a lot of mo-capture sessions with Japanese football players. In playtest mo-cap wasn't implemented in game:THINK:Strange because Messi mo-cap was later than Japanese footballers:THINK:and we should see some mo-cap session in game on this stage.

Nice try, but you know as good as everybody that motion capture was not implemented in the game yet.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I know that mo-capture is not implemented in game but i ask about time, time and time.Maybe some basic animations they can add but Pes need a lot more in this situation.I mean full animations players and keepers.

As FreMM says, it will be done in one hit, probably we will see it in Germany...

They will want the impact of all the new animations and Mo-cap' together. I don't expect anything more before Germany...

Wanna gamble running animations will be the same??

U kept defending the game for the last two years with all that WENB PR non sense the games were rubbish. Wanna make a fool of yourself for the third year in a row?? Mocap is the new TeamVision.....

Juve star to be Italian Cover Star

Juventus' talisman Alessandro Del Piero will join Messi as cover star for the Italian version of the game.

To define Alessandro Del Piero (Conegliano, 9 November 1974) there are no more adjectives.

Pure class striker that can play both with beautiful feet, with a vision of the game, willing to sacrifice, ruthless put, Alex is a World Champion (2006), a monument of Italian and international football.

Juventus in the team since 1993, where the role of captain, holding the absolute record of marks (262 goals) and the primacy of appearances in official matches (603).

Considered among the best talents of Italian football, has now, the world convened for three and four Europeans. In 2004 it was included in the list of 125 greatest living players.

PES has always been synonymous with football and virtual really are excited to appear on the pack PES 2010!" Said Ale Del Piero. "I've been playing PES and always tie my name to the most popular football simulation of Italy can only make me happy. Konami really able to capture on-screen magic that only those who love football can understand and are anxious to see how the virtual Del Piero! "

Del Piero's persona so perfect all the skills that a sample should have" said Jon Murphy PES European Team Leader. 'It is universally recognized as an outstanding and represents the ideal testimonial for PES 2010

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If they spent as much time working on the game as they did signing cover stars PES would be the greatest game ever created.

I still think it's ridiculous people are saying "motion capture hasn't been implemented yet". Motion capture is not a little tweak you can just drop in, it's fundamental to the entire game. That's why David Rutter was explaining how they had to completely re-write their animation system this year, to accommodate 360 degree control.

People are pinning all their hopes on Konami somehow implementing a totally new motion-capture animation engine in the space of 8 weeks, it's not going to happen, simple as that. Even if they attempted that the game would be riddled with bugs. Looks like a lot of people are going to be left with egg on their faces, for the third year running.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

It makes more send that motion capture hasn't been implemented yet, you said it yourself, it's not a little tweak you can just drop in, hence why its not in now and will be later ;)

Because they are showing the game off at say 50% doesn't mean they stop working! Plus they get crunch time to get it in :D

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Plus, signing the cover stars has nothing to do with the development team whatsoever. That's just general PR bull and doesn't detract from them developing the game itself.

They would have had nearly two months since they first previewed their code to get the animations in, not to mention the final polishing time up until October to iron out any of the bugs. The Messi animations look great already, I have every faith they'll get the rest put in the game.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

feel slightly less confident about the game then I did before. If anything atleast their giving it a real go this year and even if it turns out crap they've improved a lot the graphical side of the game to focus on gameplay next year.

In Fifa Players have slow reaction times, granted. I prefer it to dribbling gods.

Having 33,000 points online doesn't mean a thing. I've played lots of people who had more points than you and were crap players. In fact, I only play online with known people, because I play almost full manual (semi passing) and that completely changes the experience of the game.

I respect people that prefer a more direct approach and I know Fifa can be fustrating sometimes and has many major flaws. But it's commonly accepted that it makes for a more realistic approach to the game and you can't hide that.

But that's got nothing to do with "angles, space, geometry". Be more detailed when you talk about physics, don't simply throw big words.

How on earth Konami understands geometry, angles and space better than EA? Let's see which geometry and angles can we find in PES:
scripted passing that goes who-knows-where? :R1
scripted shooting that goes who-knows-where? :CURSE:
players going out of position by no reason?
balls that go THROUGH players?
players that go THROUGH players? :BORED:
balls that go 40 meters away ALONG the floor without even bouncing? :TD:
scripted trends during matches that suddenly and by no reason make your team crap and unable to do even a 5 meters pass? :CW:

I would like PES to rely a lot more on positioning, GAMER SKILLS and tactics and not solely on turn speed and poor 8 direction scripted-aiming (that sometimes sends the pass more than 40º of where you were aiming to reach a completely different player than the one you thought you were aiming).

But, hey, I don't know, maybe the PES team knows a lot about angles and geometry. Maybe football is played like that, aiming towards something and then finding that the ball goes to the feet of a completely different player. Or going 1 vs 1 against the keeper, aiming to the right, and finding the shot go straight to the keeper's body or the opposite post (only if you're winning). Or do a tap in to an empty net and find the ball go to the spectators in the 100th row. Yeah, maybe that's real geometry and angles and that's why EA didn't understand a thing about it.

On a serious note, I really hope they succeed and make a groundbreaking game, but it's difficult to think so if they don't start changing game fundamentals. They can't be tweaking their engine the rest of their life, they must evolve someday and begin changing the way the game is played.

Well, I bet the animations will be different in the final build, yes :)
About me: I think you missed a lot of critical posts of me. However, when I read a post were you are clearly wrong IMHO, I will reply on that, like I did on your post.
The difference between you and me is that you are unconditionally against PES and I weight the pro's and contra's before I post my opinion ;)

360 dribbling is not present in Pes 2010, so they can implement motion capture without having to rewrite anything

perhaps you should stick to salvating about FIFA rather than giving what seems your aloof ramblings about how Pes fans will be left with egg on their face.

I'll still stick to the fact EA will angle FIFA and have done since Bing Gordon and Brian Plank graced FIFA's hollowed turf for the 10-16 year olds of gaming.

I've always felt FIFA had you more a spectator with multiple assist option which plagues EA's every game. Just doesn't grab me like ISS/PES has done for football simulation.

I'm no fanboy of PES. Just a football fan.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

In Fifa, every player feels the same. The uniqueness of players is missing.

There's something about it that feels un-authentic. Hard to explain.
