Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

2009 was worse than 08 IMO but let's not waste our time on this.PES has gotten shit in general with years passing

That's one helluva post man, I agree 100%
I feel the same towards FIFA, I'm eager to see some good gameplay footage of both games

Thanks K

You know, I think we are going to be spoilt this year. Both games look to offer something different in most area's, some more refined than others but at least (i feel ) that we will actually get 2 footy games worthy of these consoles for the first time since inception.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Great previous post Dr Force. I agree whole heartedly but what would a pre PES release be without the usual bashing. As Nick said it's all part of the feeling.

True, its all part of the build up but i cannot stand all the pre-judging when we have not even seen it lol:YAWN:

How on earth did you manage to write that without peeing all over your keyboard induced by hysterical laughter ?

Of course it's your opinion, but jeez, in my opinion the statement makes me really question your sanity.

Dr Force, great post. Pity the naysayers wont take one blind bit of notice.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Quite right. Animation can only EVER be judged on movement because that is what it is. All this speculation that we get about how shit it is going to be "oh look......you can tell its the same as 09" when no one has actually even seen 5 seconds of in game footage is just bollocks.

I come here to speculate on what is going to be different both from a gameplay and graphical point of view, sometimes you feel a bit let down when you hear stuff in a 50% build but you only need to read some of the snippets to know it is improving. I don't want to read judgemental posts by people who have nothing to add except "it's going to be the same old shit"

I respect every one s opinion, good or bad but at least add some value to the thread in either bringing new news or discussing old news everything else in respect of gameplay comments is totally irrelevant at this stage as it is purely speculative, unfounded and a waste of the sites bandwith.

I am no PES fanboy, I think from PES5 its been nothing but pure over priced dog shit, but the very fact that Konami have been shouting about thier game from an early part of the development gives you a hint that they are confident of a shift. Add this to a much bigger team, the graphical scans, online announcements, mo cap etc etc and you need not be rocket scientist to see a much bigger effort to get the series on track.

I'll judge this when I see at least 5 minutes of gameplay at Gamescom, I'll decide if it is for me when I have given it an hour with the demo, and I'll buy or not buy on real experience.

For those that are judging this now, then more fool you.

I think i can point out some good in the past 3 years, which comes from the "domestic" versions of Winning Eleven. Konami did test/chosen their own people first:

- Community Mode: Dunno if you guys used this mode but its very good for friend's tournaments.
- Fantasista: Well you know its Become a Legend now. Really good addition in my opinion.
- Gameplay: Some may disagree but i always found the J League / Liveware versions tweaked for the best gameplay.

There is also more modes from those editions like Randon team etc but doenst stand off to be mentioned i guess.

As DR Force said, we can't jugde animations froma screenshot. So lets go trough the usual bashing sessions hehe, 15th July we'll get more screens to talk about and then a month later (ouuuch :TTTH:)... gameplay ;)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Oh' come on EVO WEB would not be the same without all the pre judge's, the wind up merchants, the boot and net fetishists or those guys who compare every pixel of a PES and FIFA image... :DD;))

LOL exactly.... it is the same every single year...

At least I didn't show a lack of respect towards you, I just expressed my opinion and if you don't like it then I don't know what to do.
Your answer was a bit childish

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

my whole point is why would you want to turn the cards off?

This is an explanation:

Each player has 12 spaces for the cards, but even the best players at the most have only 9. Among these cards, some are permanent (intrinsic ability of the player), others are on or off (particulars tactics)

the cards that you can activate or deactivate give no benefits, are only indications, the same information that could make a coach like offensive or defensive game, free, free positioning, etc..They are additional tactical options that can be adapted depending on the desired tactic.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Hopefully the Mo-cap will include the players running into each other or running into the post for continuity's sake.

I will always say to this day...

I'll judge this game for myself and not listen to anyone hype it up and all the usual nonsense.

Hopefully the clear up a few things like the impact of the cards system and how overall ratings are calculated and if it actually matters.

As usual I will have more than a few pinches of salt at the ready.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Hi, I've just registered for the run-in to PES2010 and of course FIFA2010.

I've been playing PES and Winning Eleven for about 8 years and spent a lot of time importing and patching the Japanese PS2 versions (good times) - not surprisingly, I avoided purchasing PES2009, the first PES title I had not bought since I was introduced to the game.

I played PES2008, on the PC, but only for about a month before washing my hands with it. I played FIFA 09, the first time I had ever bought a FIFA game, and even bought an XBOX360 just so I could play it, however it was soon consigned to the back of my wardrobe after the fundamental flaws in the game and problems with online became too much to handle.

From an outside perspective, it seems this is the most positive people have been about a PES title on next-gen -- and I mean besides all the usual hype and fanfair, the material I've seen and read so far is really encouraging. It will certainly be interesting to watch the news come out over the next month leading up to the games convention where we will get the customary initial gameplay footage.

From my own point of view and having played PES2008 as well as the PES2009 demo, animation is the key - no matter how good PES2010 looks aesthetically, even if the graphics are the best ever created for a sports title, it will all come down to the motion capture, how extensive it is and how well it's been implemented.

So, the news that they are concentrating on animation and even have a project lead dedicated to just that, is a good sign. At the same time I'm naturally sceptical, past events lead to future trends. Personally, if I don't see a radical change in that first gameplay video - then it will be a certified failure and no "early build" or "wait until the demo" excuses will be able to affect my judgement. Neither will any sites or blogs that have affiliations with Konami themselves, as it's been proven time and time again that their opinions are often wayward, the people who are truly dependable are Riot for example, and other independent journalists.

Excellent first post and welcome to the party Vitalic. ;0)
