PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Well just played my first game online against someone from Scandanavia. He beat me 3-1, he was Barcelona and I was Liverpool. Close game, and he got the 3rd in the last minute. He had a yellow connection and I had a green. Absolutely no lag whatsoever, ran perfect, seemed quicker than the PES 2010 demo :CONFUSE:

It doesnt really get any smoother than that. Really enjoyed that game, I was on the edge of my seat, screaming at the T.V. after Kuyt missed two sitters, although he was on a 'blue'. Torres came very close with a lob to finish off a 10 pass move. Managed to pull of a couple of the new cheeky feints as well. They worked a treat.

On 72 minutes I pushed all the attacking related sliders up looking for the equaliser and got caught cold on the counter. Xavi sprayed a 40 yard ball wide to Messi who broke free and slotted it home with ease with 90 minutes on the clock.

No arguments from me.

.......Just wish I had have untucked my shirts, it might have been a different story.

great news. ..yeah, the untucked shirts. :D

your talking bollocks

no really, it will look like this in the future. :)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Gamebreakers for me:

Gameplay: No physics for player contacts at all, no full manual option, no advantage rule, no on the fly tactics settings...

Look / feel: animations - running the most, no visible untucked shirt fro wide, very bad night lighting, ughy net shape for the 3rd year(how did they listen), awful ball sound effects, lack of licenses (no Konami fault), commentary not saying team names, lame crowds, etc, etc..

That's all and more than enough for me..

p.s.:
Just had some decent time with PES 2010 PS2 demo...
Still better gameplay, than next gen, no online - it's a pity..

How many years do you need Konami...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Damn yourself! It is a valid question. Konami promised untucked shirts, BUT WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE UNTUCKED SHIRT OPTION IF THEY WON'T PUT IT IN THE GAMEPLAY BUT ONLY IN REPLAYS AND CUT SCENES.
ARE YOU DENSE OR WHAT? If they promised something that is going to be in the game, then it should be in the game. Only a nonsensical reader would say this is non valid question.
Come on you guys. Are we for the realism or just half realism and jsut take the half baked results when Konami promised otherwise????????????????

Where Konami promised the untucked shirts? Do you have an official link, saying that?

Untucked shirts = realism? Oh yea, forgot about non-sense speed players, poor GKs and stuff like that. We just need untucked shirts...

Jostling and physical play is not as advanced as FIFA's, but its there. You can still feel the differences in body balance and players stumble or get out-muscled/fight for space.

I don't think PES needs full manual because the gameplay is more determined by the stats and ball physics, more so than FIFA. Also I'm a fully manual FIFA player, and the old argument of not feeling player stats (except for shooting) is there.

Advantage rule I'm not sure on, on the fly tactics have always been in PES, unless you mean custom tactics which aren't feasible to do in game.

Animations aren't up to FIFA's but they are improved. Player models and likenesses are far superior in PES though.

This year's game is a good "fresh start".... but let's not forget that EA will put all its emphasis on visuals (which they do best) and MM next year, which could result in a flawless FIFA11... so unless we see a drastic improvement in PES2011, I'm afraid we may be witnessing the last of PES productions...

That's a bit dramatic, you make it sound like the end of the world is nigh

I seriously doubt either will happen anytime soon.

On a different note, played another 3 online matches, 1 guy from England to two from Sweden. All perfect, zero lag, on the Xbox 360 with a 20meg connection. More of the same please. ;)

IMO FIFA is the game needing drastic improvement, namely they need an actual working tactics system and a major overhaul in the defending mechanics. FIFA defending is shit.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

My *God*, am I in love with the television camera. Those who want to tilt camera angles should really give this one a try.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I bought the game just cause of BAL mode and I am very dissapointed, nothing changed from last year, however I play it for while offline, FIFA won again this year.

Who cares? Let us all play the game we most enjoy and be done with it. I couldn't personally give two hoots which one the general consensus deems better.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

gameplay is a massive difference compared to the demo

response times have been sorted, more animations compared to the demo and the game flows alot better

my main gripe is players can sometimes be a little rigid, goalkeepers are ok but not massively improved like i hoped they would

appearance wise the players look amazing, and the lighting is quality in the stadiums

plays alot more like pro of old which in my opinion is a good thing

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Is the rigidity of the players just a result of not pressing down RB/R1? I find that sometimes players need to be forced and told to move when receiving a pass.

This is exactly what I thought Dan. :CONFUSE:

But I have spoken to two guys who have the retail copy and they both said that they wont even play the online demo as it sucks compared to the retail version ?? :CONFUSE:

The online Demo doesnt feel like the PES 2010 demo though at all ?? Strange.

In fact all 3 demo's feel different, whether it be online or offline. Weird.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

i wouldn't be able to play the demo now compared to the retail version...just had a few more games and managed to score some good goals

scored a goal which i never have before on pro...put a deep cross in and the defender has headed the ball and it's looped over the goalkeeper and my player and the computer player both challenged for the ball in the air and my player bundled both the ball and the player over the line haha...looked really realistic

There is a bit confusion about the community-mode beeing only off-line or also on-line. Please can you clearify that for us ? Thanks.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

wish i could answer that for you mate, i'm playing the italian version at the moment and struggling to navigate my way around the menu

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Well here's my first game mini review.

Took the easy option Man U Vs the mighty Burnley, Graphics are easily the best of the Pro evo series by a mile. Game starts and it's raining (the best footy game rain I have seen!). I am now waiting for the moment of truth - the gameplay.

Kick off and play the normal first 3 passes, they snap round like the good old days, in that moment so much feels fixed from the last 2 versions. Then I notice the player speed, slow and Burnley with men behind the ball are going to have to be broken down. Bad habbits from the F game have slipped in I find myself wanting to use the first touch stick. I fight of these urges and continue. Probing with Rooney I find you cant just run any defender like in the past they follow and block you off and I thrown in a few distance shots to see if the long distance easy goal rumours are true, skim the post with one(Fans ooooh'd) the rest are easily dealt with. I'm liking what I'm playing here! Dribbling in the main does feel heavy but I think I will acclimatise to this over time. Some of the animations of Rooney dribbling are fantasic and look like his own. The F game never seems to make players feel this different or individual.

First goal a delightful normal pass from Carrick, swivelled on by Berba and placed in the corner with ease pas the on rushing keeper. My first pro evo goal feels much more rewarding than 95% of f game goals. 2nd goal was a keeper fumbel..... but no a bad one Rooney on the edge of the 6 yard box smashed a ball that had dropped to him from a corner, the keeper dived in a flash but it hit his arm then foot and rolled right in into berbas path.

The keeper in general was not to much different to previous versions. He made some really smart saves from all around the area. One in particular from inside the 6 yard box was quite special.

Also one last note - players appeared to hold their positions on the pitch! At long last!

Well I'm itching to play game 2 so I'm going to rap up with my over first impression. Looks great, feels like a slight tweaked, heavy Pro Evo 5 but thank god we now have a pro evo we can play again!

It's nice to hear comments from the old schoolers. I guess your playing the PC version as well ?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Being an online virgin I have a few questions (I have played past titles offline at mates or PSP)

a) Does PES2010 keep track of stats against other players online...? (i.e. like that Community video above - seems awesome)

b) I am thinking of getting the UK version to play on my AUS PS3 (Our dollar currency is kicking butt at the moment, so probably gonna buy game online) - PES2010 surely does not use server region locks (ala Metal Gear Solid 4?) cause you guys play peeps all over the world by the look of it...?

c) EvoWeb will surely make an option file as good as this yeah?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/PRO-EVOLUTIO...ideo_Games_Video_Games_JS?hash=item45ee9ba5b9

Option files are not region locked? (they were on PSP...) so even if I got PES2010 Aus version I could still use UK option file (also presuming most of you guys are UK too)

A) It hasnt been confirmed either way yet by anybody. Someone even stated they didnt even know if Seabass knew. :CONFUSE:

B) It does look like you can play anybody across the world, but as of yet I have only played people in Europe. I'm still not confident we can play the Yanks.

C)Evoweb as a site wont be making an option file. But Evowebs editing forum is the best on the net. So you will find what you need in there. If not I'll send you the link to the best PS3 OF I can find.

D)OF's are only locked to either PAL or NTSC as far as I'm aware.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm playing 360 version(but PC will be my weapon of choice), Things I've noticed after a few games

Sound is awful
Against the CPU they have a good attacking spell around 75 mins
3* (regular) feels very very easy
Graphics are still wow
Crowd looks good

Things I would like in this from the f game are first touch stick and the make a run button. Would really add something to this game.
