Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

MJ, I got say to mate, your knocking out some quality posts. Agreed 1000%.

+1. ;)

Edit - Are you getting PES 2010 for the PS3 or sticking to the PC version BTW ?

PS3, I'd love to get it on the PC but I can only play on medium settings and can't afford to upgrade

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Last year, i think it was WENB or PESFan had an option file ready just a few days after release, is that happening again, or do I have to play for months with my own crappy editing

Adam says on his Twitter that they are aiming to release an option file on the day of release (Friday). I'm guessing this is for the PS3 though.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm Italian but I really love Keane (maybe I'm the only Italian fan:? !) Then "Again and Again" is one of my last album favourite song (and I can play it whit my gitar :SMUG:)...I'm really Happy for it :BOP:...Great job Konami!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

yeas 110% agreed, ea buys good review and gives extra cash to make sure pes gets bad ones. actually a 7/10 for pes reads more like a 9.5/10.

If pes 2010 does not get SGOTY i won't trust any game magazine, game journalists or any forum member that does not agree it with.

I agree its a disgrace, im never reading Eurogamer again. Or Ign. Or Total Videogames. Or now gamer. Or C&vg. Obviously paid by EA.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

All this EA pay's for review talk is laughable. Fifa doesnt have much of a presence in Japan and Famitsu scored Fifa 36/40. No-one would of expected that. I am not debating whether it deserved 36/40 but am refuting claims EA must of paid Famitsu to score it that highly.

Lets stop with the conspiracy BS.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I love that card list above.

Anchor Man - A deep sitting defensive midfielder protecting the back line stands out for me, I hope its on par with the Covering option from previous games (PES5 and backwards). It makes a huge difference knowing that your DM will actually do his job and defend and not pop up in the final third of the pitch for no bloody reason.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

For the record, EA ad money is most certainly NOT the reason why Pro Evo has mediocre reviews. It might explain a few inflated FIFA scores but nothing more than that.

People are very cynical when it comes to games journalism these days but I can tell you from working on the 'other side' that the UK press are very stubborn and unwilling to be influenced by ad money and most PR activities. For example, a project I wrapped up recently was heavily advertised on Eurogamer both before and after launch and scored a 7/10. Not a bad score by most people's barometer but my client was pretty pissed all the same.

Sticking with Eurogamer (as they seem particularly relevant following a 9/10 for FIFA and a 7/10 for PES) EA have ALWAYS advertised on the site, even in the days of reviews like this: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/r_fifartfwc_x360

Guess what, EA still advertised with them because about 3 million people log on each month.

Games journalism in this country is far from perfect, certainly not always whiter than white and the pressure to generate revenue from ads is greater than ever, but to suggest it is rotten corrupt to the core is well wide of the mark.

Anybody know how/if the card system works online? I'm a plug and play kinda guy when it comes to online play, meaning i just pick a team and start playing. If one need to sort out cards before playing it means i will be waiting on my opponent forever.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Not sure if its been confirmed either way, I hope it is though, it'll be useful for tournaments etc.

This card system is pretty much the good old special player attributes with a new catchy name and a few slides.

Still a better marketing idea than the previous "teamvision1" and "teamvision2KonamiStrikesBack" which were as useful as having maradona as a tactician for your football team....

 That deserves a quote

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The usual false marketing from Konami, they announced 360 degree dribbling at the end and it's barely there, hell, some reviews say it doesn't even exist! And some have the insolence to compare it to FIFA's which is actually there. Massive failure once again.

Maybe they're still using the D-pad? Maybe they're using the 360 pad?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

It does make some sense a tiny bit, Mercurial Vapours are only worn by players with pace for example.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

oh god
you really think that the boots will make any difference ?
it's just a nice detail from edit mode, but it can't affect gameplay at all

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

This is quite stupid
Boots have their own stats. Since now your players speed, acceleration, shot power, accuracy depends on which boots you chose...:
YouTube - PES 2010 Stadiums and Boots

Don't think its stupid at all. I buy different boots and take a couple with me when I play. It obviously doesn't mean if Shaq wore them very light nike boots he'd beat Usain Bolt. Boots surely add something diffrent. Wearing lighter boots do help in speed and agility, and so does boots like the beckham's predator add some spin. They should be a very good reason as to which ones to pick, and not just based on its looks.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The stats are there for a reason. It's a detail but i wouldn't call it "nice". "Stupid" is a propper word.
I just hope they don't strongly affect players attributes.
If it's 80->81 ok let it be. Stupid but i can live with this.

Ok maybe you're right. But i don't think that if Ibra wore different boots his shots would be much more accurate and he would score more goals. It's ridiculous. He wears vapors but he is not famous for his speed.
