PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

For me, PES has to have manual controls, better animations, slower gameplay then pes09, a load of online modes such has 10v10 and the ability to create online leagues.

If This game has all the above then it could be as good if not better than fifa 10.

You know what lads, if PES 10 had in game sliders (check out how its done on a game called NBA 2K9) it will be the best footy game every.

what are game sliders? ina nutshell you can customize every aspect of the game to make it as realistic or as arcade as you want. Do you u want most of your long range shots going in? adjust the slider accordingly. want long range shooting to be almost impossible to score from? Adjust it as per usual.

This works EXTREMEMLY WELL for NBA2K9.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Technically he isn't.He's right footed player who can decently use his left but if he is two footed, he wouldn't doing the same things on both foots and so far I've never seen him do that.

Are you serious ? Every player has a dominant foot. A two-footed player doesnt mean he is equally as good with both. It does mean that he is comfortable using either foot though, and has a good degree of confidence and accuracy in using it. Stevie Gerrard is a world class player, that has two very good feet. He can spray balls with either foot and doesnt look to get the ball back onto his right at every opportunity.

I think the fact Capello had no problem using him on the left side against Croatia tells you something about that. Not that it even needs telling.

Just to get your facts straight, a one-footed player will pretty much always use only his dominant foot. Any player that IS comfortable with both is two-footed in footballing terms. End of story.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I wouldn't class Stevie G as a two footed player either.

This is coming from left field but Diego Forlan is a bona fide two footed player.

The vast majority of Pro's have two good feet. It's par for the course at that level. The higher up the food chain you go, the better the less dominant foot gets for the most part. It's not rocket science. Just because Gerrard has such a great right foot, dont let that detract from the precision and accuracy of his left peg. Thats just ignorance.

How many times do you see Gerrard break down the left for Liverpool and whip the ball in with his left foot ? He doesnt check back onto his right, he has no problem using his left foot. I cant believe I'm even having this conversation.

Edit - Also, I think you'll find Gerrard has the highest stats in the Liverpool team on PES for both the accuracy and the usage of his left foot. Combine those stats with his shooting power and his accuracy, and that gentleman is where that goal is conjured up from. Players in PES that dont have as high stats in those respective areas will opt to try and open their body and use the right foot for that shot. Which from that angle, wouldnt have hit the target, even with the outside of the boot. Its called 'individuality. Therefore its does exactly as it says on the tin.

Come on, you cannot be seriously think like that. How about it gives the possibility to players to cut in and create havoc.By that logic Messi plays on the right for Barca because he's 2 footed or can use his right foot now ?
A perfectly 2 footed player for me is a guy like Nedved as you couldn't any difference from him passing or shooting with left or his right.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

A two footed player is someone who doesn't hesitate to pass/shoot with either feet, defenders are aware of this too. That's why some try and force him onto his weaker left foot (FM), I say some because he usually steam rolls his way past most.

There are many times when Gerrard will hesitate to shoot with his left foot and then the commentator will rightly say that it would have been a different story if it was on his right foot.

EDIT: Pavel Nedved, perfect example of a two footed player.

EDIT: Diego Forlan scored about 30 goals again last season and the ratio of goals that he scored with his left and right foot was about 55/45. Some of the goals that he scored with his left were 25 yard bangers into the top corner, no hesitation there.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Of course Messi can use his right, I didn't mean he couldn't.I just mean that using your wrong foot doesn't equal as being 2 footed for me.
@tobi: Thank you, I think you really got my point and indeed Nedved is the perfect example

I would say Stevie G is 8 out of 10 for his left foot. To me that means he's 2 footed. Now as an example I would say Beckham is a 2 out of 10 for his left, which makes him totally right footed.

Anyone disagree?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'd rate him as 5/10 overall, from time to time he can hit a ball sweetly with his left but he doesn't pass accurately with his left like he does with his right.

Beckham is spot on though.

I think all England managers play Gerrard on the left instead of Lampard because he can do a better job there. Frank would be completely useless playing from the left.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Anyway, let's just agree to disagree haha. This discussion really highlights our hunger for more information regarding the game.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

360 degree movement has been officially announced if I remember well...

that's possible, they always announce some things or some things get announced by others, but in the interview he clearly says that he has the feeling that they didn't took the oppurtunity (like EA did), cuzz they also are working on the 360 degr dribbling

Indeed Stevie G isn't really 2 footed, when you see him play you definitly see that his right one is his his "natural leg/side", although he has a very good left too.

i think eveyone has best side/leg but after loads of training, preferrably at a very young age you can get your bad leg approx at the level of the good one (imo)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

360 is present, it's so obvious on both games in all the different videos

can you give me some pointers (time in a clip posted here)?? cuzz i didn't see it in the clips, didn't really pay that much attention to it cuzz after 2 clips i was already convinced that there's no 360 dribbling

(as mentioned in the seabass interview...)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I think you need to remember how it works on previous and the 8 possible directions your players can go.Once you really have that in your mind, it's really actually easy to notice how the players move in more directions.
You only have to look at the ball for that, the different directions the ball goes.
Sorry if I cannot explain it more clearly but it's so obvious

Hi Tiezz.

Do you have that interview somewhere?

'cause I remember Seabass saying that they were indeed looking into it, but they hadn't included it because of not being up to the quality they wanted... for PES 2009, not 2010.

A link for that interview?

Best regards,

Paulo Tavares

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I hope it's like 360 in the consoles' version of Fifa 10 (it's a joke in the PC version of Fifa 10 - 32 ways at the most!)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

PES doesn't standa chance animations-wise unless it starts basing all its animations on foot planting (which EA introduced in FIFAO7-08)....
