Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

maybe you guys already talk about this but in that Barcelona vs France vid i can see that the throw in walls are not there anymore. did you guys notice it? now you can move your cunt player to be in front of the opponent, not like before this where you stuck behind the opponent.

And what does that have to do with yer post about shit animations=shit gameplay?

nothing related, just notice new stuff. still the shit game play not gonna be change by that, IF the game play is shit. so far 2010, i have no comment. my point of view it still a shinier PES2009, with a more polished game play but same old animation. don't worry, I'm still going to play it, just for the sake I'm a fan of PES... which hard for me, couldn't resist it even how bullshit it is to play 2009, i still play it. how pathetic is the feeling but I'm so stuck with pes.

I don't get it.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I can see the point Jimmy is making.

PES-Gameplay is for example:

- The unpredictacle type of goals you can make. No goal is the same.
- PES is also the way the stats make your player behave. At least that was best visual in the better versions of PES.
- PES is also that the CPU changes it's tactics when he is down one goal with 10 minutes to play.
- PES gameplay can be much influenced by the extensive tactics the game provide.

All of this have nothing to do with animations but everything with gameplay.
Still there are some things where animations help gameplay. Think about the right timing when shooting, heading, dribbling or tackling. Without proper animations you will have problems when timing your shot/header or tackle.
I have no problems if running animations are a bit limited, as they do not contribute too much to the gameplay ( see above ).
Animations should be good when ( for instance) dribbling. Especially dribbling without the speed-button is improved and probably helped by the new 360 control.
Many previews also mention the better defending and the higher degree of difficulty when trying to dribble past your marker.

In short:
As you can see from the movie from Riot the functional animations ( which help gameplay ) are much better and those are the most important type of animations.

Makes me laugh when people say no goals are the same in PES. Seriously I have scored many 'same' goals than I could care to remember. Even real life 'same' types of goals are scored many times, even in real life you can predict during some of the attacks how a goal is going to be scored. It's a soccer game, there's only so many ways/angels you can score from.

Oh well, I suppose PES is even superior than real life football then.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Gameplay is made of animations....unless they come up in the future with a physics based engine. Poor animations means either they are bad and that takes aways a lot from the game or there are just too few of them which leads to repetitive gameplay.

Look at nba2k, they have thousands of animations added yearly and that makes their game absolutely fantastic.

So animations are really crucial for gameplay, no reason to deny that.

Gameplay without good animation is empty, good animations without gameplay are meaningless.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Animations play a huge role in gameplay. Not the entire role. But a critical role. Without good animations, you can't have great gameplay.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

And ffs, players run most of the time....running animation must be good.
If they did listen to the community, that was the very first thing we all asked for.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If the game lacked animations for every scenario then it would be an issue. But they dont. They are just no where near as nice and polished as FIFA. But I can handle that, because response times are more important, and the simulated gameplay even more so.

Edit - Just to add I went back to PES 5/6 for the gameplay that PES 2008 couldnt give me. PES 2009 gave me everything PES 5/6 did and SO much more, regardless of the flaws.

PES and Fifa both aspire to be considered simulations, arcadey or not, and they both know that nothing leaves fans more fired up than seeing their match look *and* feel like a real televised football match.

Did you see Riot's video?

From that video i see running animations are greatly improved over Pes 2009, even if not at Fifa's level

Videogamer ask about DEMO:

“Not long” until PES 2010 demo, says EU PES team leader

EU team leader for PES Jon Murphy has revealed to Videogamer that anybody waiting on a demo for PES 2010 is “not long” off.

“Not long to go now until we release a demo for everyone to test. You’ll get a chance to see the new PES for yourselves and make up your minds about how we’ve reflected what the what fans want,” said Murphy.

Game’s out this fall for PS3, 360, PS2, Wii, PSP and PC

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Ignore the fact that it is Adam and it is still alarming to me. He says it doesn't give the old magic feeling of PES 5/6 and that he looks forward to next years edition. That is a nice way of saying that you are disappointed. Obviously doesn't mean YOU won't like it, but I rather see a previewer praise the game then say "oh well, next year will probably be great".

And I said "mostly" because this is was the focus seems to be on. If you scan this thread it is all about the new graphics and lighting. I like that they added 360, but apart from that I don't know what else is that much different from 2009. Maybe I missed it, hopefully I did. And I'm talking about gameplay changes only, not modes.

Wtf? In over 268 pages of videos, screens, links to previews, playtest impressions, scans, trolls, mayhem, hissy-fits, self inflicted bans and boycotts....you only see improvements in graphics and lighting??! No fucking way, I'm getting too old for this.

Pretty much, what gameplay improvement are there do you mean? I know about 360 like I said before.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

malas noticias:

- finalmente no habra editor de red.
- no se podra editar las botas, solo elegir entre unas ya determinadas
- no habra nieve.
- los guantes de los porteros con manga larga seguiran siendo feos, menos, pero feos.

bad news:

- There will be no net editor
- You can't edit boots, only choose between the existing ones.
- No snow
- Goalkeepers will still drop the ball when they shouldn't, less frequent, but still happens.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

What exactly are people hoping to see. 22 men in tutus and american football helmets all running after a beachball doing perfectly animated ballet leaps?

Not really. Maybe stuff like realistic ball physics, better physical play (headers and fighting for ball), maybe manual passing option and so on. Stuff that makes the gameplay different from 2009.

Pes has best ball physic dude, fifa's ball is still balloon, and manual pass is already in every pes game but 8 directions. And collision system better than pes 2009 but you are right this point, collision system is not better than fifa.

ronaldino23, where you get this info from, was you told it and have you got any newer code from what we have seen, i think everyone would appreciate some new gameplay videos please and thanks

Well I haven't played FIFA 10 yet, but every report (even Adam) says it has the most amazing ball physics ever in a football game. And to me personally PES 2009 ball physics is really bad. We don't have to compare it to FIFA, just look at what it is. The whole "Well as long as it is better than FIFA" thing is not for me, I don't care which game is the best.

Sorry didn't mean manual passing I meant more like manual controls. Not trying to pass with the right stick, that is a poor solution. I've been mentioning it before in this topic. I don't mean fully manual as in that the ball goes right where you aim, but manual aim then filtered through the players attributes.

Why bring FIFA into it about the physics? Gab wasn't comparing them - the PES ball physics could still be an improved upon (they're not great in either game), but this hasn't been mentioned as an improvement at all.

Manual passing is there yes, but there's no point when it's so useless, so they could have said they have added 360 degree manual passing, but again, not mentioned.

Gab is right, apart from 360 degree movement there's hardly any gameplay improvements it seems, maybe the tactic sliders if you count those.

No you and Charlie are right us PES fans cant make a comprehensive list of the new features so they don't exist. How sad. Lets see theres the tactics, sliders and cards to adjust so that your team can create openings. This will be as a result of the slower buildup more measured gameplay compared to PES 2009 where it was pretty much sprint, and shoot if you wanted to play that way. DougieD at pesgaming also mentioned the improvements in passing and shooting. And that's about it..so yeah you got me.

Jesus, if you dont know Spanish, dont translate!!!
The first three sentences are correctly translated, but the last one means something completely different!!!

He means "the gloves of the Goalkeepers who uses long sleeves will be ugly, a little less ugly, but still ugly"...

Nothing to do with spilled balls at all!!!

True about the cards, had forgot about them. I really hope they make a big difference, I like the idea behind it. Improved passing and shooting, well I guess it could be good, but just as well tweaked. Would be happy if Konami actually made a statement about revamping them. Even though assisted passing is not for me anyway.

Not sure why you are so angry. Not like I have been saying anything outrageous in these last posts.

Edit: Also I only speak for myself and so does "charlie". I haven't followed his posts at all.
