Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm disappointed that the movement appears to be all 45 degree angles again. I don't see any evidence of 360 movement or increased fluidity. It still looks too robotic and forced rather than seamless and flowing like Fifa.

The running animations look so poor as well. We were led to believe that two years work had gone into this. I would have expected better even if this is an early code.

Sorry Konami, yet again.......:FAIL:

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Don't worry guys Seabass will have 2 month to change all animations in particular "running animations". For me it is enough time to add all mo-capture animations:BOP::P

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Can anyone post a link to a video and state the time at which they can see any clear sign of 360 degree movement?

I'm struggling.:SS

Watch Benzema's run from about 1:45. Is that 360 dribbling? The slight angles he takes certainly look like it to me.

EDIT: I really like this video, made me pretty excited already :D

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Look at what a difference it makes when you have two people who know what they're doing playing the game (they're still not amazing at the game and yes, i know seabass creates the games lol).

Nice. Reminds me of Pro Evo 6 with more speed and better graphics. Probably getting carried away but, well, i used to make a lot of pro evo 5 and 6 vids so i should know.

That's my biggest gripe. You shouldn't be struggling to find that. In the 'other game', it's as clear as night and day.

In that part is really clear that Benzema is not in rails like always in PES. Looks really good, but Enke looks awful at Benzema's goal (nice animation in that shot, too).

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Is it me or does the bad quality of the vid make the game look better, if I do get this, im playing it through a camera lol.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I honestly thought it would be a deffo for any PES Fan...

I like the extra time indicator on that clip, and SB getting animated...:P

I really cant wait for it Nick. I love the Master League (Unspit), for me it's all about bringing in young non-superstar players and watching them evolve and grow. I like to choose specific players for specific roles. I like wingers with quick feet and great crossing. CMF's with strength, shooting, passing as their main strengths. Your classic Makele style DMF, a real hustler who doesnt need to be creative, i.e. not have Xavi's passing range, but someone who can get the ball and play the simple pass. I like a couple of big strong centre backs, Wheater was outstanding for me as he got older and held his place in my squad throughout. Some quick and nippy full-backs ala Ashley Cole.

I love scouting for players that arent your household names and building a squad to suit my style of play. Every player is bought, loaned because of his attributes, and what he can add to my squad. You need a good 22 players in ML to compete in all competitions which replicates the real game.

I even like the buys that dont reach the level and get moved on and released because they havent performed. Or players that are on the verge of my axe, but then once given their chance they take it and make me rethink on releasing or selling them. Or play that well that they are included in my next starting eleven.

Player individualism is what makes PES everything for me.

I remember getting a young kid on loan from Roma. He was awesome, a young, tall skinny kid with two great feet. He was quick, whipped a beautiful ball in from the right, barely gave possesion away and could beat defenders on Top Player with ghostlike feints. He was a sensation for me. I had never heard of him before and lost him at the end of the season as he went back to Roma and they wouldnt sell me him. His name was Alberto Aquilani.

I've watched him since on Youtube and I kid you not, his resemblence in play to his PES equivalent was scary. I really cannot wait to see him for Liverpool this year.

The same goes for Lavezzi from Napoli. I had never heard of him but bought him after playing with him on my BAL career as he was so creative, tricky, quick, he could do everything. I likened him to a young Maradona in my ML. And as his stats improved so much over the years he became almost unplayable to play against.

I looked him up about a month later on net. Wikipedia said this about him.....

Like many promising young Argentine players who appear in Italy, the media have been quick to dub Lavezzi the "New Maradona".[1][2] Lavezzi himself however plays this down, instead comparing himself to another young Argentine player Carlos Tévez. Despite this his style very much follows the principles of Argentine Football Creole Style made famous by Diego Maradona.

Lavezzi soon made an impact for the club by scoring a hat-trick in a 3–1 victory over Pisa in the Coppa Italia at the Stadio San Paolo; this was the first hat-trick by a Napoli player in fourteen years.[6] The first league goal Lavezzi scored for Napoli, came during a 5–0 victory against Udinese on 2 September 2007. After the match he was described in reports as "inspirational",[7] with the media proclaiming "Napoli's star is born".[7] The Neapolitan club hadn't won a league match by such a large margin since 1988, when Diego Maradona was at the club.[8]

He completed the 2007–08 season with 8 goals in 35 games. He quickly became a focal point of the fans' affection with his amazing skills and quick accelerations.

That is PES Lavezzi to a fecking tee.

This is what I love, football, although a team game, is made up of individuals. I didnt know of Lavezzi or Alberto, but after playing with them on PES and checking up about them, Konami have nailed them. Now that's the clever stuff in my book and always will be.

Like I said before, animations are just a bonus for me. PES 2010 already looks so much more fluid. The auto-tackles have gone, the 360 degrees manual pass is in, I've seen it. As long as they make sure the play is as unforgiving as PES 2009 then I'm happy. The harder the better. And contrary to what some people say, PES 2009, with all it's flaws, and stupid super fast players, if you chose to, makes you think like only PES 5 did.

So I'm very happy. As long as they rectify my personal gripes, which by the looks of it they have, transformed the ML. Improved the online play, although I'm only new to this, it is broke. I'm one happy camper and it's pre-ordered.

hmmm the seabass vid was ok... little tweaks needed with some animations but overall the passing ect is fluid, and seems u do have some more freedome with the bal.

I'm definitely buying it. In terms of the difference between 08 and 09 I didn't see much apart from BAL mode which I barely touched due to not liking the animations and the piss poor team mate AI, but I had it pre-ordered so ended up having it from day one anyway. That and a lot of things about FIFA 09 riled me from day one, e.g. shooting.

For me the difference between 2010 and 09 is night and day. Sure, the animations are a little samey, but they have clearly gone back to the drawing board in terms of tactics and AI, and some of the animations particularly the shooting, slow dribbling and off the ball walking look great. Not only that but it looks smooth, non of the juddering, sludgy mess that was 09. It felt like you were playing in thick mud. Not only that but the graphical quality, the 360 element and the promise of a better online experience all make it a must buy for any fan of the PES series. For the first time in ages I'm really excited to see what the next product is going to be like.

We can all pick holes in the animations and have a laugh at the shorts, nets etc, but I for one am hoping for a return to playing PES again regularly for fun.

P.s. I'll be buying it on the PC.

Yeah, the main thing holding the game back is the skating movements, the off the ball player movements and positioning, those little transitional things.

When you see the movement of the players in pregame, it looks so natural. Incorporate that into the actual playing game and you have it nailed.

This game is just a few things away from being the game it ought to be. It's already a mile ahead of the two previous poor releases.

Ok. Thanks.

Damn, that is subtle though. A big feature like 360 movement should jump out at you rather than having to concentrate to find it.

Well with everyone in the vids mashing the sprint button its hard to tell:P

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Exactly Jimmy. I haven't played Master League in 2 years now, and I can't wait to have a crack at 2010 now that it's finally had a revamp.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

That seabass vid is excellent. Two good players.

Both goals were excellent and the faces :o my goodness! Henry's celebration never looked so nonchalant. JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE! hehe.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

What's wrong with the nets?

There was a few posts back earlier in the thread with someone still complaining about how the nets don't respond like Football Kingdom and the general shape of them. That and Adam from WENB thinking they were just as bad as 09.

I personally think they look alright. They're definitely an improvement over 09.

I agree, you can clearly see the improvements in 2010, it's a smoother experience and is rewarding once they built up their play.
