Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I am pretty sure Konami find this site too negative ( critical ) towards them.
When you compare the way people talk about PES, there is a huge difference between the WENB community and the one from EVO-web.
I don't condemn that; it's just an observation ;)

Thank god, it's hard to tell where Konami ends and WENB starts... Though FIFA gets just as big a bashing on here when the product dictates Han...

It's way better here than WENB and other websites
on wenb i must beware to not make Adam angry
another good site is pesgaming i think

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Also did anyone from evo-web playtest the game, why not as we're one of the oldest Fan saites for pro evo :( and EA gave evo-web playtests for FIFA10.

Leaking images still under embargo isn't a good way to start. Neither is members leaking gameplay news etc.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

This site, without a doubt plays host to the harshest PES critics out of ALL the PES fan sites. I visit the others from time to time and although they are rightfully critical of the improvements required, they, for the most part, seem to hold PES very close to their respective hearts.

I have been here for a long time, and although I could probably find better conversations and debates with regards my game of choice elsewhere, I feel its my duty to stay put here, to both defend and enlighten PES's strengths and weaknesses.

Also, Evo-Web has always provided me with some of the best editing tools, patches, option files etc, over the many years of my residency. And in turn, provided me with many, many hours of happy PES gaming. So I wont be moving anywhere. I'm claiming squatters rights, and until Tom gets the Police and courts involved, I'm here to stay and fight the cause. :SAL:

Regardless of what anyone says, this place has certainly become more Fifa fanatical. I dont have any problem with that. I want everyone to enjoy whatever they play regardless of which 'title' that may be. I have enjoyed PES 2009 offline more than any other since PES 5, and for me, it's exceeded that.

Edit -

Just to add, my eyes have certainly been opened to PES 2009's flaws with regards its online appeal. I have only recently ventured online with PES, and I'm finding it very 50/50 at best. I'm not experiencing any lag but certainly the ability to be able to exploit the speedy players is a joke. I always believed people played football games to play 'Football', not to try and best Bolt's new 100m world record.

I have had some fantastic games online with people who like to play the game the way it should be played, but unfortunately that has been spoiled by folk who's fingers are glued to the sprint button in other games. So I really can understand why people are put off by PES 2009 if they mainly play online.

I played a kid (probably) last night who played with Man Utd. Rooney, Tevez and Ronny just really spoiled the game because all he did was pass to one of those players who proceeded to run like Forrest Gump on speed. I played with Seville and got beat 1-0 with his only strike on goal. It was pathetic I could be beaten by that tactic. I played some beautiful football and had 72% possession and 9 shots on goal. I deserved the win in principal alone. Sadly justice wasnt served.

I then played a guy who highlighted Man Utd as his team, but once he saw I was looking for another less favoured team to play with, he chose the Czechs. I chose Turkey and we had a brilliant, and I mean brilliant game of football. It ended 2-1 to me, but the game had everything.

The huge contrast between the two games was ridiculous. As much as I hated the Man Utd sprint-fest, I loved the International game in equal measure. As long as Konami sort this out I'll be as happy a new online player as I have been offline.

Maybe it's a wrong translation of "Boot editor". But at the same time I don't believe that there's a boot editor, unfortunately.

I don't know why I come here I was a member at pesfan then pesgaming(love that site) but I always come here for my yearly dose. This site takes all info chews it up and craps it out.

Edit: This is a good thing!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I know many have offered opinions with regards to boots but WHY does Konami insist on `16 boot slots with similar boots but just different colours.

ie. they had 2 slots taken by White & Black Adidas F50s. Why not have 16 different boot types and within those include the at least 2-4 different boot colours?

Also, will PES2010 finally include a proper 'real life' table for it's competitions? I mean come'on, you are the official UCL game. Who ever invented that crazy league table anyway!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

having 16 different models of branded boots and allowing us to change their colour would be nice

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I remain on this site because of some specific people that understand football videogaming as I do and you can have rational debate and criticism even though the occasional rants we fall in now and then.

That said, I think that in the fifa threads people is more rational, I mean you can criticize the game more freely and explain the reasons, while in the pes thread sometimes thinks are more passionate and things get quickly out of hands. But it's great and the proof is I always watch carefully both threads and try to discuss things in terms of programming (I hate people that discusses without the single notion of how things work) whe I'm able to.

About pes, I still wait for some kind of manual controls and will look closely to AI, as those 2 are the things that hinder the experience the most right now.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

some serious question :

1. control dualism, the 360 degree movement control via analogue is a very nice addition to the series, however seeing as the old 8 way movement is NOT being kicked out yet made me wonder :

how will Konami balance the gameplay then? not everybody like analogue, some would be forced to learn using analogue, to adapt; but some (for some reasons) may not willing to use analogue despite seeing the advantage of the new 360 degree control.

wouldn't it disturb the balance of the game if a d-pad fan playing against a player adapted analogue? wouldn't it put the d-pad player in a serious disadvantage?

2. in relation with the previous point; how do the AI move? will the AI utilize 360 movements or not?

if the AI indeed use 360 movements, like the previous case, wouldn't it put d-pad players in disadvantage?

but now let's turn the side, if the AI use only 8 way movements, wouldn't it put the AI in disadvantage against analogue players?

3. in relation with both points, how will the defensive mechanism works? will the old one button to auto pressing opponent who hold the ball still exist? or do we have to follow the opponent manually to press him and eventually tackle him?

now this is where things went complicated, combine all those 3 points :

if a d-pad player playing and currently defending against an AI who use full 360 movements, there will be 2 possible outcome depending on defensive mechanism implemented in the game

a. the one button to auto pressing solution still exist, then the d-pad player will only need to press a button to follow the opponent; this might sound easy, but in reality he might need to adjust his players' movements manually from time to time.

but since he is limited to 8 way movements and his opponent can have 360 degree movements, then wouldn't this put him in a disadvantage? (yeah I know this question already pointed out before) but more importantly......

wouldn't it make the game looks odd? I mean, the d-pad player will have to make some fancy zig-zag movements or something to cover up for his disadvantage in movements, wouldn't it?

b. let's take an even worse scenario, we would have to follow the opponent manually ---> we can no longer just press a button to follow the opponent's movements.

wouldn't it kill the game for d-pad players?

4. will we get 360 degree passing? or will it only for manual passing? and I'm sure this will also lead to questions like before......

5. have they remove the odd through passing like in PES2009 in which some of the pass would be too slow, or in odd direction which ended too easily picked by opponents?

6. is there any improvements in high balls? so that teams that have strong physical players can utilize their advantages?

7. when will the demo for PC version come?

that's all for now. :SNACK:

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

btw how the hell is 360 movements possible with D-PAD???
this can simply ONLY be prefromed with analog stick
or they are talking here about a 8 direction advanced movement

I think it's been said before that PS3 D-pad is analogue so 360 degs is possible with it.

Gosh today is sure slow for news. Yesterday totally spoiled me. Actually it amazes me that no-one leaked screen shots from the builds people were given. All screen shots seemed to originate from Konami...(?)

but not everyone play on PS3, now can someone who have played the game answer my questions?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

what about the player's special abilities in ML (the stars), do they learn more "special stars" throughout their virtual life?

Why Konami should put 360 degrees movement if it is not an advantage? That is NONSENSE. It is an improvement in the game, which gives a lot of freedom (allegedly).

If you still want to play with d-pad you can, but an analogue player of course will have an advantage, it is simple logic...
