PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

some serious question :

1. control dualism, the 360 degree movement control via analogue is a very nice addition to the series, however seeing as the old 8 way movement is NOT being kicked out yet made me wonder :

how will Konami balance the gameplay then? not everybody like analogue, some would be forced to learn using analogue, to adapt; but some (for some reasons) may not willing to use analogue despite seeing the advantage of the new 360 degree control.

wouldn't it disturb the balance of the game if a d-pad fan playing against a player adapted analogue? wouldn't it put the d-pad player in a serious disadvantage?

2. in relation with the previous point; how do the AI move? will the AI utilize 360 movements or not?

if the AI indeed use 360 movements, like the previous case, wouldn't it put d-pad players in disadvantage?

but now let's turn the side, if the AI use only 8 way movements, wouldn't it put the AI in disadvantage against analogue players?

3. in relation with both points, how will the defensive mechanism works? will the old one button to auto pressing opponent who hold the ball still exist? or do we have to follow the opponent manually to press him and eventually tackle him?

now this is where things went complicated, combine all those 3 points :

if a d-pad player playing and currently defending against an AI who use full 360 movements, there will be 2 possible outcome depending on defensive mechanism implemented in the game

a. the one button to auto pressing solution still exist, then the d-pad player will only need to press a button to follow the opponent; this might sound easy, but in reality he might need to adjust his players' movements manually from time to time.

but since he is limited to 8 way movements and his opponent can have 360 degree movements, then wouldn't this put him in a disadvantage? (yeah I know this question already pointed out before) but more importantly......

wouldn't it make the game looks odd? I mean, the d-pad player will have to make some fancy zig-zag movements or something to cover up for his disadvantage in movements, wouldn't it?

b. let's take an even worse scenario, we would have to follow the opponent manually ---> we can no longer just press a button to follow the opponent's movements.

wouldn't it kill the game for d-pad players?

4. will we get 360 degree passing? or will it only for manual passing? and I'm sure this will also lead to questions like before......

5. have they remove the odd through passing like in PES2009 in which some of the pass would be too slow, or in odd direction which ended too easily picked by opponents?

6. is there any improvements in high balls? so that teams that have strong physical players can utilize their advantages?

7. when will the demo for PC version come?

that's all for now. :SNACK:

Amazing how important this game is to some people.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I can't believe neither game has interchangeable kits, They have the models with those parts of the kits on so how hard can it be...

Hi nick, yeah this bit of info sort of gave me that sinking feeling.Like you say how hard can it be? they had it around 4 years ago! but i didnt want to moan about it (thought musnt be greedy after the good news)but you have started me off. :P Mind you i suppose they must leave somethings for 2011.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Interchangeable kits can no longer be included in either game due to licensing issues.

Sad, and ridiculous, but true.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Nice to see old trafford making a return,And coming from me that must be good.;)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Chuffed plenty about Saitama! Last I saw it was on the PS2; hope it's 'next-gen' translation goes down well.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Definitely no Bundesliga in PES 2010, the only hope now is an unlicensed league like previous games or some licensed teams.

WOW - so they can do it on matchday if necessary but we cant replicate in game :FAIL: - tell them take a look at madden and college football - it adds to the experience

I wonder if Konami / EA tried to fight it

Yeah, I think that'll be it and we shouldn't expect more.

Nice to see some of the old favourites coming back, but I'd happily settle for less stadiums overall if it meant we got rid of the shitty fantasy ones.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

They should be well aware of the editing community this game has (bless them all); why not allow full creation of teams & leagues as well ass asscociated cups - for the community?

Apparently that can be understood like "providing all the tools for illegal unlicensed usage of licensed stuff". Read that last year I think, big BS for me. They could at least put toons of leagues with fake everything.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Yeah there really needs to be 50+ in my book. Why so few compared to PS2?

The Allianz Arena was in PES2009 (although unlicensed - Rogenbogen Platz, I think) but can't see it on that list.

I hope there is more. Where are the classics like the Mestalla, Parc des Princes, Stade Velodrome etc?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

rasunda is out too:(
goodbye, last small stadium in PES :(

Awaiting The Big Day
28959778.jpg

Tommorow, Wednesday 19th of August, is the big day for all PES fans.
It will be the first time the game will be shown to the public with a 80% build that includes 6 teams in friendly match mode.
PES next-gen Editing Blog staff will be in Cologne when it all starts at 9AM CET.
We are equipped with a camera, some SD cards and a laptop with a high-speed internet connection so expect some gameplay videos to be uploaded right from the expo soon after the kick-off.
The Konami press conference where SEABASS and GREYHOUND will be presenting the game starts at 12PM, we will be there too.
Make sure not to miss this great day and check here tommorow for more news.
As I mentioned before you ask questions to us here until 2AM on Wednesday when we leave for Cologne :-)

If you are interested in visiting gamescom in Cologne you can find Konami in hall 7.1, booth C30

I guess so, but it doesn't count as an extra stadium in my book.

I'd like to see more generic stadiums with smaller capacities too.

Thats the one thing I really like about fifa, small stadiums, adds to the realism, there is no excuse for Konami to add so little stadiums, FIFA has loads, Ps2 had about 50, so 22 is pathetic

They aren't gonna put the Mestalla in when it's gonna be demolished soon (well...construction money on the new stadium has ran out for the time being...)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

So despite the new +200 hires, they cannot make more stadiums to at least rival the PS2 version? As someone said, FIFA has loads of stadia. I remember in FIFA RTWC'98, I wud play in Trindad and Tobago, South Africa...etc.
