Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The IGN lads were convinced that PES 10 pace is still far too fast to be realistic, but otherwise they seemed impressed.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I agree, the ign preview was all over the place seemed like they were FIFA Fanboys that once were PES FANBOYS but b/c of the last 3 years being rubbish PES titles they are scorned & can't accept that PES is gaining ground, FIFA for me is still stale on the AI aspect yes great in all when playing online or against a friend but when playing CPU it gets very redundant, seems like evrytime you get the ball 10 men from the other team are behind it always leaving the same spaces open & players not making the runs needed, thats my opinion on the matter, while PES is great AI but had problems w/ everything around it,

still waiting on confirmation if Manual Passing is in the game? would be kind of dumb to leave that out, what good would is 360 dribbling be if we can't pass the ball where we want, it was on the supposed "fake" List which is now the "Real" list so kind of curious ,let me know anybody thanks
agree with you mate

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I don't like what IGN is saying, that PES2010 doesn't come close to FIFA's realism... but that it is the much "funner" game.

Yeah, I hate having fun when playing video games :CONF:

Think you are looking into that way too much. FIFA09 was hardly realistic, they just have a different philosophy as to what makes a sim. It really is no more a sim than PES2009.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

i dont trust ign nomore since PES2008. Im sure if it had their logo at halftime they will hav a different opinion

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

It's strange, though, that the french site JVN said that PES lost all the fun by being slower paced, stuff like that.

Oh yeah, weird as hell. One major site says the game is too slow to be enjoyable, and another one says it's too fast with "exaggerated ball physics", but fun...

Anyway, I really hope Konami stick to the slow game formula and build upon it.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Hopefully its slower than pes2009 as that was way too fast. BUT now that you actually have to build up play and pass it around we might not see the difference because of the build up play. But like I said I hope for a slower, realistic and fun game!

Also the Wembley stadium picture, have you guys noticed the nets? They look premier league style :D

IGN are on seabass's dick. no adoubt that

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Guys, I just got confirmation by Konami that there WILL be 360 controlling on the Xbox 360 and PC versions, too. I'll post more on this later, stay tuned. And stay calm. PESFan only mixed something up.

Fantastic news:D

Just woken up to this news (I work nights, not lazy). Not the best sleep I've ever had after the misinformation from PESfan this morning. I didn't expect an official Konami endorsed site to mess up so badly.

Music to my ears. If I wanted 100% realism I would go and kick a ball around. Games are supposed to be fun and that's what PES has always been known for.

100% agree with You:SNACK:

Yes because "kicking a ball around" equals realism lol.

The fact that it's being compared to FIFA 09 and not to FIFA 10 says it all really.

Of course, for the most part you won’t have the camera close enough to see the player faces. For the most part you’ll actually be playing the game, with the camera set to suit your taste. From this view, the graphics are improved, but not hugely - FIFA 09 still has the upper hand in this respect.

Altough I can see where you're coming from I disagree with you.For me basically fun comes from realism

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Why would they compare it to a game that isn't out yet and is unfinished? Seems logical to me to compare it to 09. Thats my take on it anyway

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

According to Adam's Twitter, Konami have more PES 2010 related announcements to make on Wednesday during Seabass's presentation at Gamescom.

Of course I want the game to be realistic, but it has to replicate all the events of a 90 minute football match and condense it down into a 10 minute match. They have to use a bit of artistic licence in order to do that and keep it fun.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Imagine 100% realism. You score 1 goal during 90 minutes of real play. Or even 0. Would you enjoy this ?

If the game is as close to the real thing then every goal would feel more special than anything we would have experienced before.I would really enjoy it more than ever

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

It must be said that fun, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. The fact that two different reviewers have one said 'too fast' and the other 'too slow' shows how expectations can differ.

Otherwise they should maybe try to inspire themselves from a game like NBA2K9 when all the sliders are spot on you can actually replicate real NBA matches with scores and performances close the the real thing.

That would be the ideal solution. Everyone is happy then. Remember the speed slider? I really miss that.

All games bend the rules a bit. A 1:1 representation of football just wouldn't work, unless you play 90 minute matches.

I disagree with you in everything. In fact, comparing it to FIFA 09 says NOTHING, they have to compare it with what is comparable lol, because FIFA 10 doesn't have a fixed "result".

You guys are choosing the wrong stuff to nitpick about, seems to me, fun is a "wide" word, can have multiple meanings, and you are taking the "bad" one as certain.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I agree. This topic reminds me of racing simulators. My friends cant understand how can i spend hours doing laps in a racing sim, just to improve my lap times, and once a week, race in an online league. And i dont even get close to the top ones.

Now, is it more fun to race a pick up race in Need for speed and win some AI cars?. I dont think so...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I saw my goalkeeper disappear below the pitch in my third pes match. Does it count?

Both games have and WILL have flaws. Even nba 2k9 has comparable glitches. What's important is the overall feeling of realism, fun and control. To me, Pes can't achieve all of the three without having manual pass and shoot in some way, decent AI (don't start me on teamvision) and a decent collision engine. They have added 360 movement (it seems), that was also in the "urgent" list, so one good point for them.

Now the rest, please.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

IMO Fifa 10 will be like a real 90 min match at 10 mins, real matches have their boring moments.

And PES2010 will be like BBC Match of the day: Showing the best parts of a match, that seems more fast paced without the dull moments.

only 1 winner there, and that would be PES.

I'm awaiting the Podcast on WENB which should explain a lot of things.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Like I stated last week, gamescon wil tell us 90% of what we need to know if the game is great or not by way of videos & actual fans playing the game, Lets remember that last week we thought 360 dribbling was only a myth to us PES Fans & now its a reality along with a bunch of things we wanted were put in the game! we should be happy & stop nit picking on the words of what a few supposed "journalists" have to say, I never make a decision based on there assessments becuase like someone stated earlier we all have our own levels of measuring if the game is good or not but by the looks of it I think its going to be something we can enjoy ala PES 6, last year I told people I would love to have FIFA 09 with PES's AI & play ability & know it seems like its here with 360 to boot, so as I eagerly await for gamescon I am not as pessimistic I once was for gamescon uz of fear of what rubbish seabass would turn up 2 more days to go & we can do away w/ all this NDA bullshit & get proper feedback & footage & screens & etc. that we want :))
