It's all about timing though, if you bring him out but dont press the dive button, the opposition has an easier chance to roll one under his body, or chip your keeper.

It's a gamble, that when it pays off is great, but when it doesnt your left picking the ball out of the net. But thats football, timing and decision making, especially with your defensive players.

I assume fully manual means you can bring your keeper out, but now have control of the direction he can move, i.e all directions. At present he rushes out in a straight line, even though you control when he dives.

What happens with the defenders once you control the keeper for instance ?

I don't get it. The announcement says that all 3 versions will have "360-degree control", but it also says that
PLAYSTATION 3 owners will also benefit when using the Dual Shock’s D-Pad, but Xbox 360 and Win D-Pads are limited to eight-directional control due to technical limitations of the hardware.

So, will the PC gamers be able to move their players in all 360 degrees??? I mean both PC gamepads and Xbox 360s have analogue sticks. I don't get it.

You can use the Ps3 controller on the PC

Apparently the 360 d-pad isn't very good or at least not as good as the PS3 one.

PS3 version can have 360 movement on analogue AND d-pad. The 360 and PC version ONLY analogue.

Understand?

I think this means that, in some way, the d-pad is somewhat analogue in PS3, maybe pressure sensitive (dunno, don't have one), and that enables people to use 360 on dpad too (maybe those are the hardware limitations heh). In PC and XBOX 360, if you play with D-Pad or keyboard keys, you will only get 8 directions.

Why cant they just develop a circular d pad that pivots on the centre thus allowing 360 control.that way all would be happy.

Well, if it is GK cursor then it will probably be like in PES6.
The AI will controll the defenders, kinda like when you use the Pressure-2 function.

You could do that in PES5/6/2008 as well (GK cursor). ;-)

Well I happen to have 2 dualshocks for PC. PC FTW.

But I will eventually end up using the good ol' keyboard. What matters the most to me is not seeing players running in diagonal rails all over the place.

I thought as much Nick with your suprised comment regards ML players on International duty. Thats been in for ages mate. It's a fun element as sometimes they come back on fire ( A red condition arrow), sometimes bloody injured, and sometimes just tired.

The CPU takes control. But the issue I had on occasions with PES 2009 is that your bringing your keeper out, you press slide tackle for him to dive at the oncoming players feet, to block the shot, smother it, or just put him off balance by winning the ball fairly but taking him out, and your defender slide tackles him from behind. It was either the CPU switched you back to controlling the defender rather than the keeper, or, which is more likely, the CPU facking decided to use the horrible PES 2009 auto challenge. Instant penalty and usually a red card. Thanks Konami, brilliant !! NOT.

Great idea, why not? I think if the 360' is ok and be used in games more often, someone will definetly "invent" it. Same logic I suppose, just a shorter stick!

It's because the Xbox 360 D-pad is fricking useless and no where near as accurate as the PS3's. It has basically 4 directions rather than 8. Hence the reason Microsoft had planned to bring out a PES Xbox pad with a better D-Pad.

Yes, it is bugging me off that there are no references to PC version, and with the possibility that Europa League won't be on PC, i'm starting to think that this isn't the only thing that's different.

Wow this is big news but still always cautious when it comes to getting excited w/ konami.....w/ that being said I can't wait to see the gameplay videos to see what it looks like put together??

ALSO BIG QUESTION AS I DID NOT SEE ANYWHERE, IS THERE MANUAL PASSING or NOT? Please if someone can answer that would be great:PRAY:

Poor man, it must have been horrible.The controls I've always had on my keeper was to order to rush out and that's it

I have a doubt, why if the "NDA" is lifted and everyone can comment or show screenshots from the game WHY EVERY PES SITE IS SHOWING THE SAME SCREENSHOTS?. I would take screenshots no one has seen not show screenshots everyone else has, those are screenshots that konami gave the blogs, or sites to show something before Gamescon. The only different I have seen are from liverpool´s ML mode in WENB
NDA my a**, it´s just something to keep the fans relaxed or something like that. (I think... :THINK: correct me if i´m wrong)
