@Ronaldhino 32:

what percentage was the game complete that you played?

and is any of the news you reported, going to spoil the megaton announcement at gamescon, or do we have even bigger news at gamescon.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Oh yeah I dont know if you guys know this already but they removed the invisible wall/forcefield during throw-ins! It was mentioned in both the Eurogamer and PESFAN preview. :)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Its very important because you can bring your keeper out quickly but you can also press square to tell him to go back and stay on his line.

Its very useful when teasing balls are played into your box and your defender may or may not get to it before the striker.

Also you can press triangle when defending a corner and your keeper will come off his line and attempt to catch the ball.

With some hands on read at this time, I think it is still going to be improved massively in some areas, like PesFan said some stuff were yet to implement/tweak. Stuff like camera angles, aditional leagues (even if with fake names), new music and commentaries can still show up, they are just not in the current "to press" build, and probably gamescom one too :P This makes me more anxious for the demo xd

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Manual goakeepers ? I don't see any need in that

It used to be in all the PS2 versions. Lots of online players use it to control the keepers in one on one situations.

It was something lots of people wanted bringing back, so Konami listened ;)

So it's like :triangle: in FIFA and old PES, you don't control which way he dives etc...?

I can't remember if you can control which way he dives but I think I remember pressing square and the keeper would smother the ball.

Well they have been semi-manual for a while now anyway. You can decide to switch to your keeper and bring him out and then dive at the feet of the oncoming striker with the press of a button, (the slide tackle button ). I use this alot, the only issue is when you bring him out, make him dive, and the tracking defender decides to chop down the striker from behind resulting in a penalty because you have pressed slide tackle thinking your still in control of the keeper. It happens rarely, but it does happen.

This auto-tackle feature has been removed, so this should happen alot less now, if at all.

There is always a fine line between bringing your keeper out to narrow the angle manually, or leaving the CPU keeper to stand his ground. I prefer to bring him out if someone is clean through as he usually clatters the striker as well as snuffing out the shot. It also gives people less chance to round the keeper if you get it right. It's all about timing though, if you bring him out but dont press the dive button, the opposition has an easier chance to roll one under his body, or chip your keeper.

It's a gamble, that when it pays off is great, but when it doesnt your left picking the ball out of the net. But thats football, timing and decision making, especially with your defensive players.

I assume fully manual means you can bring your keeper out, but now have control of the direction he can move, i.e all directions. At present he rushes out in a straight line, even though you control when he dives.

Damn, it's so long since I played WE, I can't remember how the keepers worked... :CONF:

Not sure how fully manual will work if it is the case then, it would take some getting used to as you would have to remember you're going instantly the other way if you were chasing back for a start...:D
