Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Me too. Happend to me twice. PS3 all the way...

Hmm, I really don't have an idea what the new feature can be. Over two weeks I'm gonna play PES 2010 anyway :D

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Guy's it won't be 360 degree movement. 360 isn't something that can be added just like that. It needs a new animation system that revolves around it.... now 16-directional movement, maybe.

Adam said it was something he always used to say the game doesn't need. It's a new physics engine dictating how collisions, tackles and player jumps will look. KONAMI is already officially employing Endorphin (a branch of Euphoria) on the latter's official website.

My nominees:

1) Physics engine
2) 16-direction movement
3) 360-degree movement.

I would have said "10 vs 10" but Adam already said that was wrong.

I retract everything I said. That little diagram on WELOVEPES just spelled it out...

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's 99% confirmed: PES2010 will have 360 degree movement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EA just got served and I never saw it coming.

noooo, i wished a physics engine getting rid of these few clipping-errors :(

Well yeah me too...
But then again the Euphoria physics engine would talk more than a few months to integrate into the game... I mean look at the American Football game "Bonebreaker" that has been in development forever...

Also, it's important to go toe-2-toe with FIFA10 before taking a leap with a new physics engine next year (KONAMI is already a user of Endorphin 2.5)

hmmm. bonebreaker is a new game. pes bases on an already complete game...
i thougt the endorphine 2.5 is not a complete engine, just for calculationg some scenes.
eg. there is a fight for the ball, the engine enables for a few seconds and disable again. not the complete game should be rewritten, just insert it for collision detections etc...
in this video there is "dynamic blending" just at the beginning. this is what i mean - blend in, blend out.^^

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'd be happy with better collisions. Currently they're awful.
Defo... air play is super poor in PES, and tackle animations definitely need the Euphoria engine.

Anyway, I'm a PC gamer so I doubt the 360 movement thing will mean a lot to me. I have the dualshock controllers but I always preferred the keyboard...

Make it 100% as Adam before hinted to it by "going in the right direction", as I pointed out earlier ;)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

does this mean that when ur player is tacled he wont just fall on his ars?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Very good news this.I'm really happy that PES is taking this step and hopefully now the animations will be well implemented and we'll have possibly with FIFA 2 very good football games.
Unlike most fanboys, I don't want either company to "pawn" the other but I just wanna be playing at as much good games as possible. If we can have that with FIFA and PES then I'll be happily buy and enjoy both

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If this is true, then this really will be a major step that Konami have undertaken. I for one am now quite excited to see the outcome of this rather large change to the series foundation. As stated before the inclusion of 360 degree movement means that the animation system will be changing too. Hopefully this results in a more fluid and realistic game. Looking at it in-depth, 360 degree movement will have an effect on many areas of gameplay. The biggest thing coming from this is that it does show Konami's commitment to change this year.

I was skeptical like many of you after the last 3 appalling 'next-gen' versions, but with each bit of news (new graphics, UEFA competitions, tactical system, improved online, Master League improvements etc.) this ideology is slowly but surely wearing thin. Kudos to them. I look forward to two good football games this year but more importantly im looking forward to a fresh new experience with PES this year. :)

Does it therefore make it impossible? We are all just guessing and assuming mate.
Thank your avatar for giving me an epileptic attack btw.

In fact, after so many very clear hints into the same direction every intelligent person understands that this can only mean 360 control and nothing else. ;)

I like to know what the infamous Charlievolano have to say about this. He is very quiet since this good news hitted the forums. Five page back was his last post ( yes I looked for it )
I think he has nothing to bash :D

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The most important thing now for me will be the general pace of the game, they should slow it down a little bit.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If they are really adding 360 (even though they're doing it exceptionally late in the development cycle) and improving physics, there's only manual controls left to make me firmly interested again in the series.

I think Konami has reacted to EA too late, and a huge feature like this requires LOTS of time of development. But that's better than nothing and if it is real and it works, it's a good sign for Konami, after 4 years of despising its fan base and degrading the quality of their product. Let's hope it's true and the "contacts" are not messing around with everyone, again.
