If PA1 as a standard setting would be really so close to full manual as some overeuphoric reviews make you believe, we would have seen nothing but chaos in the gameplay vids so far.

no not really that's like saying grown men don't know how to pass in a football game, what happened on the day was people quickly learning to slow the game down and make a pass.

and when you see things like ovehit passes going out for a throw in or unhit passes being intercepted just adds to the delight that is PES2019's PA1

I totalled about 4 hours gametime on PES2018 compared to 6 seasons of ML on PES2017. I won't be able to reference my feelings against PES2018 so it'll be completely fresh opinion for me.
Same - looking forward to the demo, and some of the videos are incredibly lifelike. Just nervous about the passing at this point - licenses etc. are great, and credit where credit's due, they're going all-out now that they haven't got the UEFA licenses. But who cares if it's Robo-Football 3000 where passing with a donkey of a centre-back is the same as passing with Legend David Beckham.

hate that word negative ...... I don't do negative (especially around forums), just little tweaks the game could benefit from but if it causes too much changes I'd rather Konami leave it be and work towards making tweaks and testing them thoroughly first before releasing updates, seriously this game is good to go.

What little tweaks did you feel were needed then? Don't worry it won't be seen as bashing the game, if the game was perfect no one would buy PES 2020 right? :)

not this time centre backs are a liability with the ball at their feet get rid a s quickly as possible (PA1 and Manual)

The demo is out on my birthday and I have the day off, so i'll be getting a good days playing of the game, i'm actually really looking forward to it as i totalled about 4 hours gametime on PES2018 compared to 6 seasons of ML on PES2017. Same for me pretty much. :D

Still, at least PES 2018 saw them finally give PC the current gen version, so it was useful for that at least. :P

Really interesting why "Pro Players" put their assistance up to insane levels and even experienced manual players miss easy, short passes when being under pressure. Never saw anything like that.

By the way, playing full manual in a halfway successful way surely is not a matter of age, but a matter of skill and training.

Deja Vu, been here about the feedback from press tours. The graphics and visuals look like a good upgrade but hope the back heels have been toned down. Like someone said you need to play it for about 3 months before you can reach a conclusion on how good the game is.

PA1 certainly felt like I really love PA1 on PES2019 the freedom to play passed and fins angles/spaces is phenomenal, it was really free so much so people were saying it's like manual - it's isn't full manual of course but by god it's very close as close to manual as you can get.

aslo the build we played was 90% close to the final product this will be the build we see on wednesday, the work need now are new team licences leagues etc.

please Konami you have this game in the bag do not make dramatic changes
You have said this 2 years running and they ALWAYS make dramatic negative changes before release unfortunately

The Beta was best PES since PES 6. This isnt bad coding, they choose to put in momentum shifts ,Last minute goals,Kick off goals and catch up bugs etc

I do not trust them and will noy buy PES 19 till others have owned it for a month or so.

that's really not true, when you get used to playing a certain way, the first couple times you play with less assistance it's always a nightmare. i'm someone that's always switched between PA1 and manual, and everytime i switch back to the latter, it takes a few games to get the feeling right again

And not just for the human player, if the AI are pinging it around like Barcelona with Wigan i'll be very annoyed

Come on,you have watched the gameplay videos, didn't you? They even made a livestream of the exact same build they say PA1 is "almost like manual", with PA1 too. And you saw that it isn't the case, at all. If anything it feels too assisted, like PA1 in Pes 2018 or maybe even more (i can't say that for sure as i never played PA1 in Pes 2018 more than few minutes, can't make a correct comparison).

Thankfully there is a demo coming very soon, so we can judge by ourselves.

I'll use these words this is the game that should have followed the PES2018 online beta

On the one hand I'm happy to hear that as I really liked the 2018 online beta, but if you think about it, we're only just on the brink of getting that gameplay (one year on), and that's on the proviso that the game doesn't change again before release, which on past form is highly likely.

What needs tweaking?

collision system has seen improvements but there were occasions my defenders had the ball only to see a stiker charge into the back of them desspossing them of the ball, I thought damn it stay strong fella, shielding for defenders need to be upped.

weak foot shooting needs to be toned down, much more still too accurate and powerful.

goalkeepers need improvements in the intelligence dept - making the right choices and having the correct reactions to various shot types - it's improved yes but more work needed.

the collision system needs to be deleted by the referee and fouls need to be called by the ref, like I said a few times I'm in possession and someone has come in hard to barge my player off the ball and if I have my back to shield the ball that's a foul is someone comes into the back of you ....the ref needs to call it.

I don't think this is true any more. When I got my review copy of 2018, I had the video review written and recorded within 48 hours - it was uploaded before the day of release.

It was immediately noticeable that backheels were everywhere, and that the AI spammed chipped through-balls no matter their team and no matter your setup.

Watch this and tell me that there's anything that another few months of playing would have changed. I don't believe there is.

This isn't the PES of old, where you have to play for a month to understand the subtleties of the changes. It just isn't like that any more.

they will mate they want to win so they will use the higher PA setting from PA2 and upwards, I tried PA2 and the passing was like PES2018's PA1

Fair play. Good to see a level of objectivity from you.

AT Glasgow every man that used PA1 took to it and I had wonderful PA1 games with PESMunki, and PES streamers like PESEP, TheWezzatron, TheVernimator, and Itsdavidfish and I watched(whilst I was eating) a fantastic game between PESMunki and Curdstar (PESCasual)

tell you what PESCausal is a fantastic PES player ......wow!! ..... what a freekick that man

You can't tell if the game is "phenomenal" or "fantastic" though, like some are reporting, after a couple of games at an event.

Very refreshing. Too bad he will be unemployed come tomorrow lol

Hope shielding is sorted as best thing about beta was the difference in holding up ball between Giroud and Payet in my formations number 10 role. Also hate in PES 18 how players just run into and disposes opposition when body shape indicates it should be safe for the other player, momentum has a lot to do with this in my opinion as you have those periods where it is impossible to keep the ball for 10-15 mins gametime.

I am just curious because i never came across a gameplay which made me think that the players slowed down their style of play to avoid easy mistakes. I basicly saw just end-2-end games.

I hardly think that everyone just visited the options menu to set it up to PA2.

first thing that came out of everyone's mouths as soon as we all pick up a pad and started playing.

what?? the game is much slower than any of the videos out there ...... wow !!
and you'll be saying the same thing this wednesday .... come back at me this wednesday

Well, I see your point. It's definitely possible for a game that seems great at first to reveal its worst bits over time, and some of the praise (not on here but on Twitter) is... Well, frankly, hilarious. I can't get over the phrase "it cannot be improved upon".

But within a few games, if you play as different teams and against different teams, you know whether it has that "base" to be brilliant or not. I immediately felt PES 2018 was a huge step away from its roots - the series where "every team played differently" and "every goal was different", suddenly produced a game where every AI team played like a kid who'd just discovered chipped through-balls were an exploit, and scored the same goal over and over.

Realistically I think we'll all know if it's going to be special within a few games of the demo - but even that could change in a day one patch, though hopefully that won't happen.

I'll never be unemployed - PES2019 is a very good game just a minor tweaks needed to it to another level but like I said if tweaks mean the game will act differently then I'd leave it, work on this and give it good test first the release an update

Videos can make game speed appear faster, but if you look at the passing you can understand that most of the passes are too precise, even at PA1. There are hardly any misplaced passes. Videos can't be misleading in that case.

Anyways, i can wait, few days and will see. I really hope you are right and i'm being influenced by negative prejudice.

AT Glasgow every man that used PA1 took to it and I had wonderful PA1 games with PESMunki, and PES streamers like PESEP, TheWezzatron, TheVernimator, and Itsdavidfish and I watched(whilst I was eating) a fantastic game between PESMunki and turd

tell you what turd is a fantastic PES player ......wow!! ..... what a freekick that man

Point being with that argument, the fact that everyone immediately took to PA1 means that in some peoples eyes, PA1 probably still isn't as free as they'd like. that's why the original statement is kinda void because people will just need to see for themselves
