I don't understand why favouring the ebb and flow of online matches should have any impact on the number of fouls and penalties in offline matches.

When playing online the number of fouls are pretty much only dependent on the user's decisionmaking, wether they choose to/accidentically foul each other, whilst playing the AI it's a matter of AI decisions i.e. poor/lazy programming.

Or am I missing something?

We used to but it was again stupid and ridiculous because it had little to no effect. which annoyed me. I think it was for PES 2012-2013 but on those games there really wasn't much transfer activity.
I've set my Pes 13 to high, and not that it has any effect on my team,it's quite a few heavy transfers for the CPU ,CR7 to Bayern,Xavi to Juve etc.
But more interested in transfers to and from my team, and that's alright in my 17/18 ml for sure

32 games in on my Pes 13 ML,4 pens so far for me.
It's obviously how you play the game Vs how/if you get pens or not.
Problem is with 16-17-18 is that they've removed sloppy tackling and aggression, which means every time your in the box, they don't tackle,or if they do,it's 99,9% accurate,so there's never any contact leading to pens.
What differs is Pes 17,where you have plenty of fouls, but very rarely pens.

To me it's a lack of fundamentals,or/and a step tw the online/eSports where pens and freekicks aren't interesting.
And I think konami has lost it completely,a football game without pens and/or freekicks aren't a football game to me.
More of a 5 a side but on a big pitch.
Pes 19 may look superb and play superb, but without what I mentioned, not much of a football game
Yes!

Come on :D how you can say that PES 2018 has problems with fouls after we survive PES 2010... you have a short memory.

I think PES 2018 is.. fine with fouls, at least human vs human or thinks like that. I see maybe a bit problem just when COM cheating a bit on a higher difficulty with some " no fouls " or " lite touch is foul" only to gain an advantage in some situations, but it's nothing game breaking like it was in PES 2010 ...

I can say that Pes 18 has issues just by comparing it to 17.
Comparing it to Pes 10 feels very strange?
No fouls (hardly) and no penalties is more than " a bit of problems"
Right?
And human Vs human isn't really comparable, because it's two human Vs each other!
If you want to compare it to any other Pes game,16 would be good, that one had no fouls either

Look ... I think its personal playing style... I got some penalties on ML because my playing style is a bit more dribbling tricks and shit like that, not all the time of course, but then I have a chance to make some cool tricks combos or nice dribbling I do it, so COM tackle me sometimes and refs call a foul. If you play with fast safe passing like COM do it most of the time, maybe you will get less fouls... who know. But again, I do not see issues here because there are no extreme cases in PES 2018 because they are what ruins a game. At least I think so, I do not say I'm 100% right of course. Someone will not agree with me, others will agree, so it's so difficult to please everyone. We play the game in a different way, we see different things and we have different experiences.

Almost all my goals are from dribbles. I dribble a lot, I get tackled, I get injured, but I never get a free kick or a penalty.

You never get a free kick but you get injured?? Seriously??
Maybe you're playing Pes 19 by mistake and you get injured all the time by Visible Fatique?? :SMOKIN:

Someone above mentioned about pes 5 foul system and its pragmatic approach to defending and how it was a pinnacle of its series, and i fully agree. Even if you play pes 6, you tend to mindlessly span square and x anyway because of its leniency with fouls and yet, its still superb in portraying fouls in a game, even injuries. Even in modern fifa, you have to be very wary of spamming the tug button from behind.

But modern pes eliminates the fact that anyone can easily come from behind and nick the ball. Its true and can happen in real life, but not as often as in modern pes definition. The only frequent foul ive seen if you barge into someone. This lack of sophistication is why i guess some brand modern pes as, almost to an indie title. But i have to give credit where due, apart from physicality, ball roll physics and goalie urgency, the gameplay looks pretty decent.

Re the Mbape lobbed goal - i think the fact the keeper is about 3 inches from the ball when its crossed and literally doesn't see it is the more concerning than the lob.

The first Germany goal was lovely.

Im looking forward to the demo for the first time in about 4 years.

Re backheels - If you dont like them then dont do them. If the AI constantly does it then thats a worry. But these games were human v human so cant blame AI for that.

the argument people are having with backheels is that there mostly perfect and done in perfect combos, which is very arcade like to be honest not everyone is zlatan, i do backheels myself but i expect error cos i didnt backheel with the right person, cos it seems the backheel skill is useless and has been for quite a while and it seems it will be the same this year and that to me pes is still arcadey, which is why im not excited for this years version as well, but im gonna wait for this new build that there gonna show us soon and hopefully theres more error in that area.

Well that was dreadful. You need better jokes.:P
The injury thing happens due to the incredibly accurate tackles of the AI.

Well that sounds even more rare than winning a penalty.
I've never seen an injury in the matches i played but i see some fouls.
How can they injure you if they don't foul you?
They just take the ball without fouling you and you get injured?
I've never seen or heard of that.
Also my jokes are some of the best,i just know it.:COAT:

After watching all these videos for the game, I went back to play PES2018 for a while.

Still very enjoyable even at this late stage in its life cycle. But it’s very clear to see the shooting is the major issue in PES2018. Its scripted & generic, lacks variety and satisfaction of a scoring a goal. I am very happy this has been addressed, finally in PES 2019.

Graphically, especially the pitch looks worlds apart from the videos of PES2019. I am more excited now than ever.

P.S not to mention the nets. Which look incredible and I am such a net whore ☺️

Now and again I go back to PES6 on my PC. It’s a nostalgia thing, It’s a classic. It’s refreshing to play retro football.

A few things that I find interesting when compared to modern football games (FIFA series included)

• PES6 is lightning fast. 10x faster than current football games. Yet it doesn’t feel arcadey
• when I score a goal in PES6 it feels so rewarding. Despite how lightning fast it is.

The conclusion I found is game speed doesn’t determine a sim from an arcade game. It comes down to other factors.

PES2019 needs to make us work hard to create chances. And when we score, we need to feel rewarded and like we’ve achieved something.

Okay guys, what we have?

We know that the South American Press Tour will start in Colombia and that the European Tour will take place in the Turkey. So I think it should be clear that we'll see the Colombian league and the Süper Lig in PES 2019. But who knows maybe there'll be another surprise.

Today is Germany! So all focus on that! ;)
But sure I’m looking forward to the SA tour as I like to play with these Teams (more than theses Barcas or Reals)!
There is so something this year... the tours, the news, the constant stream... doesn’t the usual pre release marketing „feel“ a little more professional? Maybe professional isn’t the right word. A little more organized?! Just from my guts...

You'd imagine so. Not familiar with the Colombian league however the Turkish one would be a good edition.

Perhaps we'll see confirmation of any other German teams that may be licensed this year, as all we knlw so far is Schalke.

I'm a bit sceptical that there will be any due to them losing the Chanpions League licence. I know they said it didn't have an effect on any licences however each year we got the Champions League teams (minus Bayern).

Exactly, and because we all are different and so unbelievable individual it is time to give us sliders like almost every other respected sports game has.

You need to play the older pes on avi cables, playing those games on hdmi and currrent TVs will play a lot faster

so lets kick off today...

PESMONSTER is not attending the german event:

@NIK778899 yeah. gimme RB and Leverkusen and i'm good. but any other team is welcome. stadiums even more!!!
My stance on these licences partnerships are that any team previous unlicensed and/or not in the game that is now in, is definitely a positive; a stadium is even better but it's acceptable without.
I don't see the point of partnerships with teams that are already licensed due to their league if they don't bring the stadium with them too.

Well PES6 went the the farthest in the arcade direction from the PS2 generation of PES which is why it probably feels fast and zippy.

PES5 & WE9LE are considered to be the peak of slower, simulation PES on the PS2. You should give them a go if you can!

I am intrigued by the new system FIFA will use; click one time to prepare the player for the shot/header, click another time to execute. If you time the second click correctly your header/shot will have more power / accuracy.

In the FIFA preview i read the system makes it too easy to score with good players, even from almost impossible corners so i am not saying PES should just copy/paste this but it good to see some experimentation being done.

In PES nowadays i feel somewhat detached to the shooting, hard to put you finger on it but it just feels to binary, you either hit a screamer, the post or shoot directly at the keeper. I know you have some control over it but the system is confusing and does not feel completely natural.

How do you know that the tour will take place in Turkey? I don’t see any confirmation on that on Twitter. On the other hand: PES 2019 has an Turkish Facebook account and the website is also in Turkish. Hopefully the thing is real...
