on the hand balls unless there is a particular way of doing the handball I'd say better off without them. Otherwise its just another form of scripting and if I was a whisker away from winning a game only to have it taken away due to a scripted handball that's the controller going through the TV. On Var it could be done but would be just a meaning less cut screen (to some. I personally like cut screens, adds to the TV feel but agree you should have the option to turn off all cut screens)as the AI always knows if its a goal or not. It would be ok as long as you could turn it off. I think it could be implemented like the FIFA goal hawkeye thing.

I think its all more wish list stuff as if they were going to implement these things we would have heard already. They normally don't hold back. The announce and then if it wont work properly they'll leave it out. Below from last year ML announcement. Hopefully we'll get the pre-match interviews this year unless they were talking about the pictures of the players giving interviews. Shit, i'm just realizing it was the captain and the manager in the press conference not that we would be actually answering the questions

New menu design throughout the mode, with the inclusion of pre-match interview sessions before big matches and locker room scenes

Absolutely...couldn´t agree more.

Be careful what you wish for....this is KONAMI :P

I still think VAR room mode would be a fun little addition to the game. They could even show newspaper clippings after the match showing the controversy caused by your decisions.

I'd also like to see corner flag mode, where you get to spectate the game from the perspective of a corner flag. Imagine the thrill of being picked up by a player during their celebration? They could even have custom skins for different flags so it has microtransaction potential.

If they added this I do hope they increase the zoom on broadcast camera so we can see the fine details of the fabrics.
Satire.

Those that want handball in the game are joking surely?

I hope the passes no longer speed up or slow down randomly mid motion, a big gripe of mine on PES 18 that is.

Yes, getting AI positioning and aggression right should be priority number one. It should be the first and last thing a Konami dev should think of each day. The times when goal nets and graphics were the only deficits are gone for years.

I have seen the ai defenders running in to space, away from where they should be closing down the attacking player with the ball in some footage of pes 2019 which is worrying. They need to get this ai/tactics thing sorted.

Yes, although i saw improvements there are absolutely not enough reasons to change from PES2018 at the moment.

Yeah, there seems to be instances of "legacy" issues of PES 2018. Defensively speaking, my biggest issues were when the DMF would be breached, and the entire defensive line retreats to their set position, allowing for upwards of 20-yards before engaging on the player. The other issue was where the FBs would not engage the sidelines, and instead run into the box like a center back would. Made crossing extremely mundane, and quite tedious of how easy it was.

What I haven't seen yet, thankfully, is the pass and sprint maneuver by all players. Where the instant a pass is made, the player sprints away with their hand raised like a forward who's trying to beat the defensive line. It was a big eye-sore for me, and glad to see it is not showing up right now - at least from the videos I've seen.

What will be the main issues from pes 2018, that you will be hoping are improved when the demo of 2019 gets released?

Why not, if it is implemented with care and 100% random?

I always played FIFA with handball and sometimes i got one, sometimes the CPU was lucky. Basicly it made risky play to the opponent box more rewarding.
Konami does not do random in my experience. Can already see it next year with threads titled 'why is their always a handball in the 79th minute?'

lets talk about cointoss, i really need cointoss :D

why the hell they cant import cointoss
Interesting that neither game has that functionality. I know I play better playing towards the left than the right so I'd like to option to choose if I were to win a coin toss.

Before we talk about adding handballs and ball boys, can we ask for the basics to be right first.

PES is nearly there and once Konami do that you can add in whatever else you like.

we're just talking to pass the time abit, I for one have preferences that I like to see improvements in, similar to @Malcolm9 (Hi mate) and what @philla touched on

Hey Konami and EA, why is the best (and only?) indoor football game still Fifa 1998?
You must be really bored by the lack of news, to ask that question, my friend! ;)

Never enjoyed that indoors stuff though. In real and on the console.

Go on England. I’d like to see that hand shake. Sorry.

From what I can tell the DMF and CB retreating seems to be sorted. The area that I would want to focus on is the sideline play. I want the defending player to use the touchline as another defender properly. Too often in PES, you can just run up and down the sides with little resistance. This sets up plenty of crosses, sure, but it makes the game quite boring.

The passing lanes seem to be much better defended from the videos, but they were good in the Beta last year - then in the released version we got wide open everywhere, especially right through the middle. You never needed the radar because a driven pass to your forward was the easiest outlet in the game. Combine that with the retreating defensive line, and now it's 3 v 4 until the DMF catches up.

How are you feeling overall? Any significant areas of concern?

One thing that came into my mind,Pes 19 has already presented a few leagues that are licensed right.
Liga Nos (Portugal) Russian Premier league, Scottish PL etc.
Might not be top drawer leagues, but still licenced and quite big leagues (at least quite a few big teams)

Why the hell don't they push some promo on those leagues?
It's been a "weakness" for the Pes series for years,no licences!

Why not advertise they'll have every stadium for Liga Nos,or the Russian PL?
Other exclusive stuff, like a proper presentation?
Don't get it,sitting on licenses and not promoting it at day one?
Any smart business would use its content and promote the crap out of it.
But we haven't heard anything, just that they have licences...

I guess it’s the DMF positioning prob and defensive line in regards to that.
Just an assumption. ;) Speak up Matt! :)

Haha, you're right about that. I think they are covered though. Let's just hope there is not anything "new" to be an issue. There have been so many PES versions that were always so close, yet one or two issues made it so far.

Exactly!
I feel like PES has been "forcing" us to play down the sideline probably since PES 2014.
They they introduced Tiki-Taka and Perfect One Touch Passing. So now they force you to play in two ways: Run down the sides or perfect one touch passes from your box all the way to the other box. It gets annoying really.

They should do a trailer like PES 2011...

Something tells me that MyClub will be their next big reveal than anything and also a mode they have been working more on than anything.

Exactly!
Back when Pes cared about offline modes, and had a great online ML.
I still play 11-12-13 on a daily basis,great games!
And tough!
Online mode of those games was a complete nightmare anyway. And PES 2012 was far far FAR from " great games" It's one of the worst PES game in almost every way. I still have the preview alpha code on my PC, Konami sends it to us for testing back then when pes-bg was on.

I'd say that Pes 14-16-18 is far worse than 12 on all levels.
The only thing I don't like is the pace.
I think you need to play these games NOW,and compare how shitty Pes has become since 13.
