That's a bit extreme. Konami has *always* been translated poorly. There are even blatant errors/weird things, e.g., in the French translations going back years and years. Saw a thread on Twitter comprised of French people complaining/joking about how ridiculous it was.
Even the English in-game instructions are not usually exempt from unnatural looking translations.
Yup, the german translation is poor either. Grammatically wrong.
But well, KONAMI isn´t the only one. German translation in PUBG is bad either

.
PES needs to freshen up fast and KONAMI are probably aware and that is why they are stepping away from the spotlight, they just can't compete with FIFA. If PES reaches an adequate package condition in 2-3 years, they might go and compete once again, but with all the man power EA has, I am not sure how complacent EA sports will be during that time.
This "time off" can only be a good thing for the franchise. Lets see what will happen.
Good post.
I´m wondering about this for quite a time. Is it really a question of manpower?
When checking on social media, many people comment that they like the gameplay of PES and the animations more than EA´s game, but because of the licenses and FUT and bells and whistles they always choose to buy FIFA.
If KONAMI could make it to improve the stuff EA can´t do, they could really make their own special product.
Nail the gameplay, work on the visuals, atmosphere, game modes (ML, BAL, LEAGUE etc) and IF there are license issues, provide editors and make the modders happy.
Pes should be its own thing, stop going for the Fifa crowd, and develop another concept of football game. Unfortunately Konami is going more and more the Fifa way, the packs, the team of the week, player of the week and all that show you they don't have enough innovative ideas to make Pes a unique experience.
I don´t mind KONAMI going that way. After all it´s a mode no one HAS to play and without spending a dime, you can get a decent team either. Microtransactions is where the money is, so it´s logic that they wanna step into that market, which they really should do.
In fact FUT is quite a cool mode. I played a lot of FUT 15 and 16 and never spent a single cent on it.
The mobile app made it possible to trade cards gaining coins, which you can spend on buying players and stuff.
The value of the players rise and fall because of specific factors like form, news etc...a little bit like a stock market.
It´s been a lot of fun, working on players and team outside of the game and when you bought players cheaper because of a smart trading style, you couldn´t wait to get home and start playing with your team.
The only problem is the gameplay. Surely it´s a matter of taste, but I can´t play that puppetish-animation game no more.
Plus, those hardcore dribbling players you meet are a pain in the ass.
PES, imho, has the better gameplay and animations, so they should work on myclub. Add more depth, build a mobile app, make it possible to trade cards outside of the game!
On the other hand: imagine EA would totally rework player models and animations and finally get rid off that cartoonish player movements....whew....
