Eventually got round to watching that Colo Colo v Flamengo match with Pesep and Fish (I think?). Quite enjoyed it if I’m honest.

Liked how they were commenting about how the players felt fatigued around about the 65th-70th minute mark. This to me is better than just having a visual effect for fatigue.
Also when vinicius Junior’s scored the winner, was great to see how the defender got burned lol! No catch up bug there for certain!

Even the backheel, dare I say, in the link up for Colo Colo’s opener actually looked nice and more importantly “contextual”

De ja vu time :D

I think alot of guys will like what they play come wednesday

Pity I couldn't have been there to meet some of you guys, especially yourself and PESmunki who I've had some decent conversations with over at **** in the past

alot of guys didn't make the trip up to Glasgow, shame I didn't have your number I could have tried to get you in

Pesep said that he scored that goal because you were using All Out Defence and Conservative, meaning defenders don't press attackers but rather sit deep. I think it's a bit too rigid though, it makes defenders too passive. Another thing they should tweak.

well spotted

By the way some guys on here are Konami employees and should be given the full chance do their PR thing before release.

referring to me? guys asked I answered, no PR involved

PES 2019 will be the greatest game on Earth. So good that intergalactic beings will try to login to konami servers just to play some MyCLub.

very disappointed to see a mod put a like on this silly joke

Why are people interpreting this passage of play as especially bad AI and not just terrible defending from Daniel? Stood off him with his free player while his teammates were trying to cover other routes.

You're mistaken. You didn't have any defensive advanced instruction on at this moment. Not sure what PA2 has to do with it either.

Point stands, for me, is that this is just really bad defending Daniel lol. Gifted him a goal.

I'm guessing you had a very deep line in the settings though. Also: I'm going to be mentally reading all your comments in a Brummie accent now

Probably just trying to cover up that terrible defending. That's my read on it.

@janguv spot on crap defending by me, and your right about the advanced tactic used (your one of the few guys on here who's sharp).

PESEP wanted to try PA2 because he had requests to do so, we paused the game and broke off because the BBC was asking (right next to us) if anybody wanted to do an interview - great editing by PESEP

I find it very hard to believe that PA1 in the current build is "borderline manual" as was stated by some playtesters. Even if 99% of videos we've seen so far are on PA2 there are still videoes like this one, where it is explicitly stated that it's on PA1:

You only really need to watch the first minute to see that this is no where near manual. Spooky described himself some pages ago as a casual player usually playing with PA1, so if this was "boarderline manual" he wouldn't be stringing such passes together effortlessly (this is not having a dig at Spooky and I don't think he ever descibed PA1 as being near manual, I'm just using his video and self description in this argument).

The only way this might feel manual is with the powerbar sensitivety and not the stick, because all passes are going straight to players' feet in that video.

The only exception is with through balls, and this has been the case since E3 videos. An example from the same video is at 11:05 where a pass doesn't reach it's target. I don't KNOW if Spooky is using ∆ there but it's a safe bet as it is usually the way to play the ball into space on PA1 and 99% of other passes, as I said, are going to players' feet.

I guess we will all know by wednesday, but I wont be surprised if the statement "PA1 is boarderline manual" will be pretty far off.

Edit: oh, and just for the record, the game might still be pretty damn good and the passing game might be great as well, just not anyway near manual.

you'll see it come wednesday PA1 is so free and feels nice to use, great job on PA1 Konami.
you will turn round and say the videos did not reflect how the game plays.

not long to go see you wednesday

I don't see any advanced defensive tactics being activated.
Looks to me like you're trying to defend the game's flaws by lying.
Unless, they've changed the advanced defensive tactics button to red, or you've thought you've activated it but not.

Looks more like an "All Out No Defense" and "Useless", meaning defenders don't play defense at all.

Oh man! They've destroyed the game more!
Are the devs trolling us?

not lying - plain and simple bad defending by me and well spotted you sharp dude you.
I sat back and did not engage and paid the price.

we both tried PA2 in that game

Interesting to see if Serie A club licences are affected by this (except Milan and Inter, obvs). I'm not sure they will be, but I guess there's always going to be an inkling of doubt until the team list is released.
So Roma, Lazio and others clubs without Juve are not licensed in PES 2019? :( Sad news

Not content with snapping up the UEFA license, EA has also gained the Serie A and Serie B licenses from PES 2019. While those teams and leagues will still be in the game, expect them to have kooky and vaguely patronizing names such as Vujentus and Pastanella FC.

Before making assumptions it's better to wait. Serie A license doesn't give access to clubs licenses that must be bought separately, unless something change this last year Pes will still have all licensed Serie A teams except Juventus.

Yeah exactly. As we've seen in recent years, they can license most of the league without the league licence itself. I was just musing over whether that will continue to be. I reckon they likely will be, but until we see that list it's tough to say.

I don't really understand this logic. Even if you are sitting back and not engaging the marking should never be that loose inside the box. My playstyle is very much about sitting deep and absorbing pressure a la Atletico Madrid, so I dread to think how ineffective that will be with such a defensive AI.

Look at Aletico, they are sitting deep and not engaging, but good luck trying to score from a single pass into the box here:

I want to see positioning like this in the game, is this possible?

the guy on the ball could try a banger from there - and PESEP took the shot because I gave him space.
agree with your post ..... not long till wednesday

Yea bro, all teams should be licensed without Juve

Anyone knows when demo drops nz store last years. I know that it was a day earlier, but i think it was late night, right? I ask this to take one day off work.

it will be the same as last time due to different time zones.

We are only 3 DAYS out from the #PES2019DEMO release. What are you most looking forward to seeing/trying out and will you play online offline or both?

for me using the new and improved PA1 and I'll be playing both online and offline

I'm manual player, but i give pa1 a go, because all my friends play wirh pa1. i will test the ki and look if there are difference between top team and lower team. Are there differnce in terms of passerror and so on. I'm lookin for all the new animations, especially the shooting variations.

Thanks for all your updates. I too am excited for Wednesday. Whats are the 3 major improvements you have found from PES 18?

1. PA1 free as a f*****g bird
2. Pace of the game - the best in a PES game
3. No catch up bug - this was refreshing to see but it is balanced nicely with for eg if a defender’s positioning is spot on he will get to you to make the tackle

Can I be greedy and have one more please?

Positioning much better compared to PES2018 the DM stood out for me but i’ll be testing this with using the advanced settings during the demo period

Good to hear! Roll on Wednesday :)

I'm enjoying my league in 2018 as man city. Proffessional full manual. Looking forward to demo too , biggest fear is I won't be able to go back to 18 after it and will have to play exhibition matches for 2 weeks

I been trying to enjoy the French league with Monaco but just cant get anything out it, especially when FIFA 17 is there with loads of better things in the career mode, PES needs to at the very least copy some of it most notably actual player training sessions, match day atmosphere and those press conference before the bigger matches.

Essentially....I'm curious to see if vision will be more rewarding than mindless spam. Also I'm curious to see if first touches combined with skills will be more rewarding to beat defenders or create space.

Also I'll want to see how terrible the auto auto auto tackling is and if gegenpress is still completely disrupting. All in all....does FUMA or PA1 lead to a football experience that is at least a bit deeper? Ping pong monkeys can have their domain, but keep it THEIR domain. Even FIFA doesn't pit low assistance players against high assistance players (that's what a FIFA player told me at least).

At longer term we will have to see if cheaters will finally be banned. It can't be true that the biggest cheater on PS4 is still #1 in the MyClub leaderboard and cheats people out of wins in PES league qualification. Also will there be fairer team levels and what will the reports on scripted feel be? And will MyClub just be a massive grind and time sink or will it be possible to obtain a fun and usable team at a lower team level? Divisions....just Real Barca PSG mode or will there be more to it?

Your reports on no catch up and some other points sound promising, but I'll see what the reports are a month after release or so. I'm not so inclined to spend money anymore, but if they would actually deliver I might still come around. Game will have to speak though.
