PES 2019 Demo Impressions Thread

The camera not aligning itself to centre issue is still there. It's like some of those old NES/ SNES games where the camera wouldn't move with the player and result in getting hit by enemy.

Here most of the time with zoomed camera, the camera stops centering the ball. Can't even see my own defenders and sometimes I can't even see opponent players that are in midfield. Without the radar, it would be impossible to keep the ball in possession because you can't see a thing.

I don't think developers even tested zoomed in cameras. It's fine in FiFA. Why can't they fix this simple issue.

Have you tried pressing the touch pad down on the controller (PS4)

These year PES 2019 looks amazing, also gameplay. I am only scared from two game breakers.

1) Goalkeepers doesnt go out from position during the one on one situations against striker (can you imagine Neuer like this? :D )
2) I love playing againts AI, so I need AI players like Messi, Salah, Zidane be UNIQUE !!!.... they have to dribble against me, they have to use tricks againts me (not everytime, but in right moments), they have to be able to go throught my two defenders and make interesting situation for Tiky taka..... it is necessery... I want to be scared before the match, that they will make some damages.

If Adamko and Konami solve this ... i will definitely buy PES 2019.... sure. If no........ I wil definitely buy Fifa 19.

So i hope, boys will work very hard and not only play with Twitter.

And in the demo they were glued to the goal line too?
Btw offensive ones still come out...if its a through ball, but if the attacker going up one on one they stay there.

True. It kills the game against CPU. I score every one on one with the gk. It's not fun playing agains the cpu. They attack only on the wings, they almost never dribble at all.

The game is fun, but not against the AI. It's amazing how scripted and without any " if this happens then".it really is. They do one thing, every single time and it never changes. De cpu goes to the wings..... Over and over again....

I didn't buy PES18 as there where no fouls in the box meaning zero penalties so I was surprised when a penalty was awarded to me playing as France vs Argentina.
Graphics look awesome on my PS4 Pro and there is a vast improvement on PC and that was long overdue. Animations are also improved and there seems more weight to the players. Many improvement's although as always the menus look cheap and nasty.

Good as all that is there is an Elephant in the room. The lack of dribbling running with the ball from the Ai. They just pass when they receive the ball. Even awesome players like Kylian Mbappé wont run with the ball and to me that's a total game breaker and unless fixed I wont buy PES19.
Konami have had years to sort problems out but when they fix some others appear. Sad state of affairs when PES5 and 6 are looked upon as having the best gameplay.

Also broadcast Camera could be great but why oh why do they put the Zoom into it year after year making it unplayable?

To be fair you would also still have people here on the forum shitting on the game even if it was near perfect...
I notice so much negativity in this community about PES and I dont understand

pes 2019 (demo) is far from perfect but its still very very enjoyable slow football game

I think Konami are heading in right way ... they have my support for listening to us fans

Looking forward to getting stuck into the training mode on the full game. I'm fully invested in this year's title & after spending most of the last year playing retro PES, I've got a lot of relearning to do, especially in regards to skills, penaltys & free kicks.

I took one in the demo the other day & screwed it up because I was used to tapping the shoot button & aiming in a general direction like on PES 5.

Still seems nowhere near as convoluted compared to FIFA's penalty system. Hated that, as a casual player you can't just pick up & play & win a penalty & be expected to know right off the bat how to navigate such cryptic mechanics.

Buildup play starting to come together in full manual. Finishing is still needs work

Hey mate, been following you on youtube for quite some time now, really enjoy the way you play. Do you stream? Is there any way you could do more tutorial videos to show how exactly you play, game plan tactics, how to be patient but still active on the ball, etc? You are very patient and always know what to do in every situation, you never panic on the ball, always smooth and calm, really enjoy watching your videos.

Would really appreciate a reply.

Cheers, keep up the great content!

Yeah for me also the game has more positives than negatives.
Then it's just where you choose to put your attention to..
I choose to put it more on the positives to be able to enjoy it.
Some people just can't help but seeing the glass half empty and wanting the game to be like it's built only for them and not for millions of others..
You can't expect to enjoy anything in life with this mindset.
Also it's important what alternatives you have..If there isn't something better for your likings then you'll stick with what you have even if it's not perfect and it will never be.

About them listening to the fans..Let's wait and see the retail version first.
Then we'll know which fans exactly they listened to lol..
I too hope it will remain slower and heavier as it is now.

Been playing exclusively on PA0 with Schalke for the last few nights.

I will say, hitting a manual diagonal ball into the box that's headed in is the single closest gaming moment to an orgasm I've ever experienced.

I'm loving PA0 - but I just think, delete PA1, give me the slightest bit more assistance on passes and make THAT PA1 instead. That'd be absolutely incredible.

But. Even using PA0. It's just not playable, for me.

I've played ten online games on manual (I INSTANTLY find a manual opponent, which is unbelievable really, and it says something about the average age of a PES player IMO) - and the most shots I've seen at full time is two each. It's too sloppy for a ten minute match to create a decent amount of "highlight" moments.

And as I've said before, playing offline, you're putting together lovely, realistic looking, slow passing moves - then the AI gets the ball and it's like playing a hyperactive child on PA3.

On top of that, stamina means pretty much nothing (as proven in a previous video), and attributes in general mean nothing. Even more so on PA0. Tactics make a difference - player attributes just don't.

It's such a shame - and this demo is supposedly final code, and Konami don't tend to put out gameplay patches.

I think PES 2020 will be brilliant, genuinely. If they work on this stuff.

More I play more I start to hate it. More I play PES 2019 more I see how good was PES 2018.
Really I'm serious I hate this game now. I am very close to cancel my preorder.

This was my initial thought and impression, 4 days ago!
But i kinda got addicted to PES 19's freedom, unpredictability and nerve.
Pes 2018 looks better (to me), looks like soccer, rolls like soccer but it looks a bit blatand, repetitive and lethargic compared to 2019.
By the way, kudos to KONAMI.
At least KONAMI tries, experiments, risks, changes things. Unlike EA who gives the very same game each year.

Most Keepers included Neuer went way out of the box in Pes 2018.
So no worries, its a demo only.

Did they? I honestly can't remember it being the case at all.

And anyway, if I'm not wrong Konami removed the offensive goalkeeper card too this year. I have an hard time see this getting fixed for the final version.

If you have a 4K HDR TV try the Camp Nou by day time in TV Camera, it's just beautiful, but for a full manual player like me, it's unplayable, so try it with some assistance.

How can i enjoy a game so so assisted on basic shooting and pa1 passing, and it feels like you are still playing pes 2017 in every way, the people abusing the aggressive running where you can run with all the players and intercept a seemingly perfect pass and then u end up on a counter attack by the other player where u can t defend because keepers are useless in 1 on 1 ,where they stay glued to their line and every 1 on 1 is a goal

tried playing some offline but after some of the issues mentioned like lack of dribbling i started taking notice and switched off a few mins in. don;t think i can go back to playing offline which is disappointing for me as that was what i wanted to play.

playing online now. what i like about the demo is that all the player base is concentrated in this one "mode" rather than spread across MyClub/league/divs etc.

matchmaking is great here. its all the little frustration of a full pes release that make me end up loathing the game.

In 2020 we'll probably have a new generation of consoles for which Konami will probably introduce a new engine and then the same old shizzle will start again. Konami will forever milk the "evolution" part of the name.
