I've got to put my cynicism glasses on here for a minute, sorry guys, but... Shooting...
It's like they've read our complaints about all shots in 2017 being hard and low into the corner, and so they've made all shots soft and high into the corner instead. That's not a fix, guys...
At 5:11 in this video, you'd be smashing the ball low into the corner in the hope of A) getting maximum power behind it to prevent a reaction save, or B) getting a rebound off a defender for a goal or a corner. Not lifting it.
At 5:52, it's the same situation. One-on-one with the keeper, you'd be smashing it past him hard and low so that he couldn't react - or arcing it around him low - not lifting it into an area where he could potentially get a hand to it.
The only times I'm seeing low shots are on the end of low crosses and rebounds - without that, it doesn't seem to happen. The shooting model seems totally basic, to me. Speaking of which...
I'm seeing the exact same shot (and exact same goalkeeper reaction) repeated fairly often (high across the keeper and into the top corner)...
Check out 3:35*, 5:00 and 5:22 in the above video. It's the same shot. (*The keeper saves it, I know, but the ball is heading to the same place and it would have gone in if the striker had used his right foot.)
I've seen it in previous videos, too - all I'm seeing is these shots plus thunderbolts, all into the top corner (excluding tap-ins).
...just me?
